  1. I actually know how to cook now! And i love it!! The other day I was making a grilled zuchini, carmelized onion pasta w/ goat cheese and shrimp and my friend remarked how much my culinary talents have grown - two years ago, if it didn't come out of a box I couldn't have handled it!
  2. Sorry you're having a rough day. I would check with your dr., but I know Tylonel is gluten-free. My dad is diabetic and missing one kidney, and Tylonel is all he's allowed to take as the others are too hard for his remaining kidney.
  3. I got it!! Finally.
  4. I can't get past the first level!
  5. Yes, I've ordered it on-line from a gluten free grocery (the name escapes me, but it's out there). The Heniz is almost exactly like the Campbells, yummmmmy.
  6. I can't get past the first level! D'oh!! What is it?
  7. try www.break.com
  8. Mmmmm... sponge cake... What about a Namaste mix?
  9. I use L'oreal shampoos and conditioners.
  10. Most hams are ok, with the exception of Honey Baked Also, I've seen graham cracker crumbs available at Knickiknick.
  11. To borrow a phrase from another support group, it's just "one day at a time". It's not nearly so overwhelming to just focus on today. Not only keep special gluten-free treats around, keep things that are naturally gluten-free around. Like fruit, juice bars or popsicles, even most ice cream. My friends will tell you I was a complete witch (although she...
  12. We did a great t-shirt from my daughter to her dad saying "Best Daddy Hands Down" and then put her handprints on it. Or since he's on the computer a lot, could you get some pictures together and turn it into a screensaver or mousepad? Those are so easy to do now too.
  13. You'd have to ask the restaraunt, I never assume even if it seems like the simplest thing. I know the beans I make at home from a can are fine.
  14. Knickiknick (sp) is good, so is Celiac Specialites - both are in stores (at least near me) and do mail order.
  15. I was traveling that way for a meeting, so I stopped in quickly to look around. They did not have a huge gluten-free selection out, but I'm sure that if you needed a special order then I would start with them. They had frozen commercial breads, snack chips, etc. In the bakery case they had 3 kinds of gluten-free quick breads (banana, zuchini-pineapple...
  16. Betty Crocker let me down when I saw wheat in the frosting... why does it need wheat??? I bought Duncan Hines buttercream and it was very good. I've also bought Trader Joe's choclate frosting - very fudgy, very good!
  17. I agree completely, but don't try to take the bottle on an airplane - they just confiscated mine a couple weeks ago. The security agent said I could keep it in my luggae, but I kept asking how that was going to help if I got D on the plane!
  18. I've ate there before and been fine. You do have to practically have NO CORNBREAD tatooed on your forehead, but there is plenty to eat. I usually get the white chicken, corn and maybe green beans or the apples.
  19. My doctor has told me that IBS exists but that it should be "stressed = stomach response" and it should be occasional, NOT a daily thing! I agree with his theory on this. Since going gluten-free and starting an anti-depressant, my IBS has cleared up a lot. And I almost always have a bad tummy day on the day I start my period, like today
  20. You know, I don't know any more I thought I was doing ok with tapioca, but had pamela's pancakes yesterday (YUM!) and Chebe breadsticks last night and am not doing so well today. I'd stopped keeping my food log, but I should think about going back to it. In the meantime it's not enough for me to stop eating it, but I will start paying more attention...
  21. Throw the salmon and veggies (sliced thin) into heavy duty tin foil, drizzle olive oil and lemon, some seasoning and throw in the oven.
  22. I use LaChoy or San-J wheat free tamari... read the labels, San J makes several sauces and only the one is gluten-free.
  23. Like most things - some of Pepto is fine. I wouldn't recommend it becoming a part of your daily living but that's my opinion.
  24. I almost always have nut butter (peanut, cashew or almond) on toast in the morning. Dinner is frequently "breakfast for dinner" at my house. The food dilema gets much easier as time goes by... and I'm glad you're feeling better already!
