  1. I use All free and clear laundry detergent and I don't generally use fabric softener. I do wear body spray and I guess maybe that will be the next thing I nix after I'm done with the tomato thing. It could just be SO many things! Funny, I think it may have started after her vaccinations last month. I really can't be sure though. Does anyone know what vaccines...
  2. Hi everyone! I'm still breastfeeding my daughter, Annika. She has a horrible rash all over her body and my doctor suggested food allergies. It almost looks as though she has cigarette burns on parts of her body, that's how bad the rash is. I'm willing to try almost anything to get rid of it. Obviously, I'm gluten free already, but I'd like to start elimination...
  3. Colorations makes a gluten free playdough. Its sold through www.discountschoolsupply.com. Make sure you get the one that's labeled "wheat-free". Playing with regular playdough could absolutely affect her. Its almost impossible to get that stuff out from under your nails. Plus, it leaves a residue that's hard to clean up. Better safe than sorry.
  4. Today I took Annika to the doctor. Poor little thing... She has two ear infections, two infected eyes, and diarrhea, as well as a horrible cold. On top of that, the doctor felt as though her rash was due to food allergies. Now, normally I trust my pediatrician, she is wonderful. For some reason though, I really feel as though her rash isn't due to allergies...
  5. My vet recommended diluting baby shampoo and using that. My dog's coat is so much nicer now that I'm doing it that way. Her dander is much less and her coat is softer and shinier. Plus, she smells like a baby!
  6. Does anyone know if chia pets are gluten free? I'd like to get one for my daughter from Santa.
  7. Just a thought... Was the peanut butter formerly used to make peanut butter sandwiches? If so, it may very likely be contaminated. Also, was the sugar canister (if kept in a canister) ever used in conjunction with flour, like with baking. Or, was it ever used for flour storage? Cross contamination is the hardest thing for newbies to conquer.
  8. Happy birthday, Judy! I hope its a great one!
  9. I make an almost identical recipe whenever I make ham. You can decrease the sugar a bit and it makes a wonderful pineapple stuffing. Perfect for the holiday meal. Also, I prefer my pineapple pureed. It gives it a more even sweetness. Very, very, very good recipe!
  10. My prayers are with you and your family as well as Noah's family.
  11. Being sick is hard enough without running into insensitive and closed minded doctors. I hope Carrie can figure things out before her insurance coverage ends.
  12. I got one as a wedding gift years ago. I finally opened it up and used it two weeks ago. Let me tell you, you can make almost anything in it. I made a ham in it the other day that was just absolutely to do for! I just put the ham in and poured 100% pineapple juice over it and cooked it 8 hours on low. Then, when it came out a poured a "glaze" of brown sugar...
  13. Amanda, I'm sure you already know this, but you will be such a wonderful mother! I'm excited for you. Having children is the most beautiful thing you can possibly do. I know you will love it.
  14. Thanks guys. I really don't feel pregnant. And you know what, if I were it would be a blessing I suppose. My husband doesn't want another baby (I do), so I guess if it happens it was meant to be.
  15. It looks safe, but without having a number to call you can never be sure unless someone else has already called on the same product. I hope someone else can give you a better answer than that.
  16. I'm almost two weeks late and the second pregnancy test was negative as well. I'm just going to assume that I'm not pregnant at this point. I mean, I'm already taking prenatals and eating healthy since I'm breastfeeding. If I start to notice a bump I guess I'll get tested. lol There's not too much I could do now anyway, its a little late for protection....
  17. Any updates on Carrie?
  18. Oh Manda, your family has been through a lot this year, both happy and sad. I will keep your sister in my prayers and hope that they find something soon.
  19. We just had a baby three months ago. We certainly were't trying to get pregnant again, but we weren't being super careful either. I got my period a few days after unprotected sex. This was my first period since giving birth to my daughter. I really wasn't expecting to get one so soon after birth. Anyway, it was relatively normal, but now I haven't gotten...
  20. Losing a pet is no easier than losing a human... I hope that you are able to find peace in this difficult time. God knows you've been through enough in the past few weeks.
  21. The Celiac tests are highly innacurate in children, especially a child that young. Yes, there is a difference between Celiac, gluten intolerance, and gluten allergy. However, it is very possible that your child has Celiac. What do you, as a mother, feel is the right answer? I would trust your instincts on this one.
  22. If you decide to try a gluten challenge I would stick with something simple like bread. Eat as much of it as you can and see if you get a reaction. Stay away from anything breaded or super greasy while you're doing this (and anything else that irritates your gut) so that you don't get a false reaction. Please keep in mind though that there are many silent...
  23. All it takes is a tiny crumb to make you sick. That 1/2 tsp of soy sauce with wheat in it would have sent me in an absolute tailspin. That's a HUGE amount of gluten. At least to my body it is. Are you eating anything made by Quaker (the oats people)? All of their stuff is said to be contaminated with gluten. Any prepackaged stuff has a chance of being contaminated...
  24. Glutino makes breadsticks that are pretty good. I would personally make pizza dough to dip into the cheese fondue. Betty Hagman's easy pizza crust recipe would be perfect. What about Glutino pretzels? That would be good too.
  25. I don't have my tonsils...
