  1. There's an Outback and PF Changs in Orlando. Check their websites for exact location. The safest place I found to eat outside of the Disney parks was in Downtown Disney (free parking). We enjoyed many, many lunches and dinners at the Portabello Yacht Club. Their food is amazing and they have gluten free pasta (Tinkyada) right on site!!! Call ahead if you...
  2. Try dipping Envirokidz animal cookies into melted chocolate chips. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Its not exact, but its a pretty close imitation with minimal work.
  3. Does anyone have any recommendations on a GOOD gluten free diaper rash cream? I'm looking more for a good barrier than I am for a soothing product. We use rashy cream with every diaper change so our daughter doesn't get diaper rash. I currently use Equate diaper rash cream, but I have no idea if its gluten free or not. Also, any recommendations on great...
  4. Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Cookbook for Kids and Busy Adults by Connie Saros is gluten free, but it has recommendations on how to make things casein free as well. Most of the recipes are naturally soy free as well. I've only tried a couple of things from this book, but they were all good.
  5. Could you possibly just use vanilla ones and then add cocoa to it???
  6. That was outrageously funny! I'm going to send the link to everyone!
  7. I definitely have to second the recommendation for Incredible Edible Gluten Free Food for Kids. It's by far the best cookbook I've bought. It has simple, easy to make recipes that use ingredients that are relatively easy to find. I also like the Gluten Free Gourmet books by Bette Hagman. Also, amazon .com has gluten free food and I think orders over...
  8. Tiffany, like others I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia pre-Celiac-dx. Fortunately my symptoms cleared up enough when I went gluten free that I was able to go off of the medications that I had been prescribed. I still have minor symptoms, but they are certainly nothing compared to the pain I was in 4 years ago. Perhaps its time to try another elimination diet...
  9. We have a Celiac police officer in our town. I don't know him personally, but I do know that he's been on the force for quite some time.
  10. That's such a great question for the Celiac moms and moms-to-be. Your question may be better answered if you ask your local ROCK (Raising Our Celiac Kids) group. Maybe not though. I'll be very interested to hear what people have to say.
  11. If you want to wait, I order from Kinnikinnick once every other month or so. I don't spend the full $200 usually which is what the maximum for the $10 shipping is. If you want to wait I'll order you stuff on my next order and you can just pay me when you pick it up. Might as well since we live so close together.
  12. I use the Kinnikinnick cheese tapioca rice bread. I toast it lightly, cool it completely on a paper towel and then make the sandwich. This has worked very well for me in school lunches and on road trips. It's better if the bread doesn't get cold again (ie: PB&J), but it's also good with lunchmeat and cheese. My only advice is to NOT let the bread get...
  13. Gina, I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that gets choked up over Celiac publicity.
  14. IF you mean borderline personality disorder there are some really great books out there including self-help workbooks. Try I Hate you, Don't Leave Me and Stop Walking On Eggshells. They both gave me a ton of insight into the illness.
  15. Yes, it looks like they contain egg. Sorry.
  16. The rest of the recipe including instructions is on Open Original Shared Link. The pictures look divine!
  17. Do we dare to ask what candy company?
  18. Gluten Free Pantry has a muffin mix that is unbelievable with blueberries! It keeps well in the refrigerator, I'm not sure about how it would keep room temperature.
  19. My Walmart carries Van's Wheat Free Waffles. They're mixed in with the 867 varieties of Eggo's.
  20. I order online at www.kinnikinnick.com. It's $10 flat rate shipping no matter how much you buy. I generally stock up on bread, donuts, bagels, and flour when I order. Their flour is by far the best that I've tried.
  21. Yup, Lancaster, PA. I double checked with the manager and everything and she explained that it was just the seasoning that contained gluten. We've been dealing with her for just over a year. She's the one that got them to carry Bard's Tale as well as a few higher end vodkas that aren't derived from a grain base. I totally trust her if she says its gluten...
  22. The cinnamon buns are AMAZING!!! I serve them warmed and my family just loves them.
  23. Please note first that my Outback is extremely well versed with the gluten free diet and they are probably more trustworthy than many Outbacks. They informed me this evening that the actual Aussie Chips are gluten free, that its due to CC in the fryer and the seasonings that they are not listed as gluten free. Then they proceeded to tell me that they have...
  24. Cocoa Pebbles are gluten free. Cocoa Krispies are not. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of.
  25. He is in God's arms now, Amanda. What a lucky man to have been able to share his life with you. I'm sorry for your loss.
