  1. I'm starting to really dislike this Dr Foreman guy...
  2. Is there like...an over abundance of corn in the world?????? Why is it in EVERYTHING? Reading that, it almost seems ridiculous to ever eat corn on purpose...even if you're not intolerant to it. We're just getting sooooo much of it in our diets!
  3. I *think* tonight is part 1 and tomorrow night is part two...and next week is the celiac episode.
  4. I hope you get some definitive answers soon. Even if you don't have Celiac Disease, you could still have gluten intolerance (and/or other food intolerances). That's something most doctor's won't acknowledge. If you find you feel better on the gluten-free diet, stay gluten-free! If not, I hope you find the answers that best for you.....
  5. Weren't you the one eating gluten? That could have thrown off your system and caused you to start reacting strangely to all sorts of foods. That's what happens to me. Or, if they're conventional apples as opposed to organic, they could be full of pesticides, preservatives etc. etc. that may have had an effect on you. Coffee makes me sick like...
  6. I'm sorry I don't have any good advice, but I will be sending positive thoughts to you and your daughter. I hope she gets better soon.
  7. You might want to try Kinnikinick and Glutino. The Glutino cinnamon raison bread is pretty good. Make sure all gluten-free bread is toasted before you eat it. You might also want to try Cause Your Special mixes. I've found them all to be pretty good. I don't eat bread anymore either....and I don't miss it at all I've just lost my taste...
  8. If it's a toaster oven, that wouldn't be as risky (as long as you clean it between each use and use foil under the food). In terms of regular toasters, you would need an extra one that's strictly gluten-free.
  9. There's tons and tons of gluten-free/cf junk food you can get....cookies, cake, cinnamon rolls, donuts, candy... Ironically, you usually have to get it at the health food store, or order it online. There's not many options there at the regular grocery store (I don't think).
  10. French fries! Oops, sorry. I know that's a sensitive subject. Not the McD's one of course Make them yourself, or get them frozen. I like Alexia - says gluten-free right on the package.
  11. While we're on the subject of Ian's chicken nuggets...I have to let everyone know, you absolutely should never microwave these things. Cook them in the oven! The microwaved version is unbelievably nasty in comparison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Generally if you go to google and type in the words you're looking for along with "gluten-free," a thread from this board will come up in the results.
  13. That is ridiculous. You would think they could prepare the meat far far away from the wholesome poisons! The word "wholesome" is a very unneccesary addition to that notice, in my opinion. At least they're warning people...but still.....
  14. Hi - I'm not an expert on testing...but in terms of two toasters etc, have you considered just making your entire kitchen gluten-free? It would be much healither and much less risky for your children, and while gluten-free food for everyone can be expensive, it's also expensive to buy two toasters, two margarines etc. Your non-celiac family members can...
  15. Thanks for even more info Michael. I haven't read the links in-depth yet, but I'm glad WH Foods has something to back up their claims. It still looks as though there's a major difference between organic and conventional waxes. I've been shopping at the farmer's market and the cucumbers I bought last weekend are definitely not waxed. I love the little...
  16. Cool thanks! I use their blush and was thinking about buying some lip gloss
  17. The turkey avocado from Togo's was my favorite too. mmmmm I've also never had a Krispy Kreme. Never ever. A few months ago I at a Nutrlicious Bakery gluten-free/vegan donut. haha just doesn't sound the same does it?
  18. I love Glee gum!
  19. You can order them here: Open Original Shared Link There are a couple health food stores near me (Jimbos and the People's Co-op) that sell them as well.
  20. Cool Whip is definitely not okay of you're casein intolerant. Many "non-dairy creamers aren't safe either. They can say "non-dairy" and still contain milk derivatives. Sodium caseinate is a milk derivative. Sorry Maybe you can try almond milk in your coffee instead?
  21. *Generally* safe - yeah. One of the main exceptions would be if they use Balsamic flavored vinegar instead of natural balsamic - or something like that. You could always ask for just the oil and the vinegar separately, and then make the dressing yourself. That way you know exactly what's in it and you don't have you worry that they might have put something...
  22. If you're totally stumped about what to eat, remember the foods that are naturally gluten-free: fruit, veggies, meat (unless of course it's already been marinated and/or cooked - then you would have to check), fish, eggs, beans, lentils, rice, quinoa, buckwheat, teff, millett, corn.... If you're shopping for packaged food, it helps to buy things that actually...
  23. haha I thought my computer was messed up too. Glad the board is working again.
  24. dextrins and artificial flavors could possibly contain gluten
  25. I tried Hip Whip and I remember thinking it was scary gross...and I like most all of the weirdo vegan non-dairy, gluten-free versions of things like that (I even love Mac and Chreese ). Anyway, might be worth trying. You never know.
