  1. lynne---your local county extension agent should have books available with updated canning info---it seems to change every so often. in our area, they run a pressure guage check every year to let you know if your guage needs to be adjusted or if you need a new one. have any of you ever put your canned produce into the county fair? i did years and years...

  4. my kids(3 with celiac) see a pediactric gi. they were diagnosed the week between christmas and new years. we have also had 4 more of our children tested and my husband and myself. we have 4 more children that have not been tested yet. we know that one of our celiac free children has a celiac gene----so he will be tested yearly. the rest of us will be tested...

  13. this might work for you. carol's gluten-free sorghum flour blend 1 1/2 cups sorghum flour 1 1/2 cups potato starch or cornstarch 1 cup tapioca flour (starch) 1/2 cup corn flour or almond flour or bean flour or chestnut flour since you have the first 3 ingredients----maybe you could use the sweet rice flour for the las 1/2 cup. christine

  15. i have 3 children with celiac---all had positive blood work. one had a negative biopsy, one had an iffy biopsy, and the doc did not biopsy the youngest. christine

  19. i just bought some dried soups in a cup for my girls. the brand is Mr. McDougall's. you just add hot water. the new foil packs of tuna are really handy---nothing to drain. i have also bought pink salmon in a foil pack that my daughter took for lunch. christine

  22. i had an appt. in boise yesterday (2 1/2 hours away) while there, we checked out a new store that has been opened up by a mother of celiac twins that goes to the same ped gi we do. EVERTHING in her store was gluten free----no label reading required. even though the store was small, i have never seen so many different gluten free products in one place....

  24. the meds are so darn expensive---even with insurance. i would like to do a fundo on one of my twins. my baby has had a fundo. i think i need an endo done----then i can decide what to do from there. right now i am taking nexium---my doc gave me a months worth of samples. christine
  25. i don't get alot of burning---unless something gets stuck. i once had food stuck in my esophagus for 30-45 min. it was awful and hurt so bad. i couldn't swallow anything. i'd throw up fluid from my esophagus,(nothing from my stomach, since it was blocked) get a little relief, and then the pain would start up again. i am wondering if i have a stricture...
