  1. Welcome back!!! Congratulations on the new granddaughter!! What an adorable picture!!
  2. Hope that today is better for you. I agree with what everyone else has said. Look for something else! BTW, I used to work at dental office that the office girls were miserable. My supervisor was just unbearable to me and I left a few months ago.
  3. ((hugs)) That reminds me of the bricks I've made for bread in the past that were horrible! It also reminds me of the first few tries at cookies that spread all over the cookie sheet and looked a bit like butter brickle candy. I tried to make some soft pretzels once. She liked them at first, and then didn't like them anymore. I just made sticks...
  4. I got this recipe from my co-op's newsletter. Carleigh really liked them. The recipe calls for popsicle sticks, but that didn't work out as well as little cups for us. It doesn't really get hard enough for popsicles. 1 c. Dari-Free powder 3/4 c. frozen orange juice concentrate 1 T. sugar 1 c. water Combine all ingredients in an electric...
  5. I'm so sorry to read this thread. Many prayers for her family! I love her books too.
  6. How's all the flybabies? I've just checked the site and had to ROFL that the zone this week is the master bedroom. That is THE WORST room in my house, I'm embarrassed to say. It's my dumping ground. SO, it will take me way longer than 15 minutes to get everything off my dresser, nightstand and backboard. I've got a load of laundry going and will...

    ARCHIVED Guhlia

Happy Birthday!! Hope it's an extra special day for you!!
  8. Thanks for the article link. I didn't think it was very nice to her either. It really wouldn't make me want to check out the site with all the nagging. But, hey, more power to her that she is able to make this a successful business and help people!! I didn't like all the emails either so that's why I just check the website. Yesterday was a much better...
  9. Thanks Betty!! I'm printing this recipe out to try!! I love that it only has 2 eggs
  10. I'm not going to sign up again because of the emails. I am going to just go to the website and read the things. Yesterday did not go so well for me. I was sidetracked by EVERYTHING - the kids, the phone, people stopping by etc. So, I'm trying again today.
  11. Yummy! I'll have to try these soon!! I've always got bananas around here.
  12. ((hugs)) I hope that your dd is feeling better today. I have felt that way many times over the years. How old is your dd? Mine is 8 years old and has multiple food allergies. Now that she is older, I have been asking HER what she wants for a treat replacment. Sometimes she picks something "easy" for me. Sometimes I make something for her.
  13. I just checked mine. They are made in the USA. I forgot to respond about the 2 kids and breakfast, lunch and snacks. I think I'd just use a regular lunch box wih containers to fit more. Or, as someone else said, maybe use the divided plates. Wow, that's a lot of meal packing for you!
  14. I washed my bento-like box today and was bummed to turn it over and find out that it's made in China
  15. I used to follow Flylady and have fallen off the wagon for a while now. I am going to give it a try again too. I was thinking about it last night, so it's funny to see this thread here this morning! Maybe we could all help each other!! Today, I'm getting control of my kitchen and cleaning off the counters (and shining my sink, of course!) I'm...
  16. Thanks for the recipe and ideas! I ended up using the recipe from Incredible, Edible Gluten Free Cookbook, halved the recipe and made cupcakes for her. I've had so many cake flops that I didn't want to waste. She liked it a lot last night. We'll see if she goes for any today. That's usually my real test.
  17. I bought one today too! And also some toothpicks! I am not sure if I'll freeze that blue thing. I've had those type things leak out last year. I may just use it as a shelf. I was glad to find out that it will fit in our lunch boxes too! Today for lunch, Carleigh had fresh apple slices and cinnamon toast cut into a heart and a circle with a side...
  18. "Santa" brought me a KA mixer too last year! I am pretty sure that mine is a Classic Plus too. I didn't buy any attachments. I would just make sure to get one that has a handle on the bowl. I really liked my old mixer, but I LOVE my KA!
  19. My mom is a member and loves it. She goes all the time. I am thinking of joining too. Cute pic of you and Silvia!! She is getting big!!
  20. I think that everyone has to go with their own comfort level on this. Either cc or the french fries made my dd very sick. So, we do not eat there. Sometimes we will eat at Wendy's. She has not had a problem there.
  21. Does anyone have a tried and true recipe for carrot cake? It's my dh's birthday and I'd like to make a cake that gluten-free and dairy free for my dd to eat too. I can sub for a few eggs, but all the recipes I've looked at have like 4 eggs and/or have buttermilk in them. Thanks!
  22. Kassandra, I think it looks great too!! I am going to be getting that same box for Carleigh's lunch box the next time I'm at Target. I'm really loving the fruit kabobs idea. I'm going to do the grits again and put some tuna in the middle for her.
  23. My dd has multiple food allergies (see below). We do not have a 504 plan because the school has been very good about it. Kindergarten was a nightmare for us because the teacher was not on board. Carleigh had the same teacher for 1st and 2nd grade and she was able to have NO reactions either year. A few times there were tears over treats that she couldn...
  24. Hi Sandy ~ I'm so sorry to read of Kathryn's struggle for health. I really have no helpful information, but will pray for you all! I definitely know what it's like to watch your kid suffer and have drs that won't really help you. We, also, are going the non-conventional way to treat Carleigh's allergies and are having great results.
  25. Yeah, Tamara!! Still haven't "packed" a lunch yet, but I'm experimenting. Last night I made grits and had some left over. I noticed how they were pretty globby and put them in the frig. This afternoon, I got it back out and used a heart cookie cutter. She loved them! So, I'm thinking that I could make them with grits instead of the rice. She...
