ARCHIVED Update On Timothy
Cheri A replied to VydorScope's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Congrats on Timothy doing so well right now!! I'll be interested to see what the next test shows for oats too. Carleigh has many food allergies. Celiac testing was inconclusive for her, but the wheat allergy was positive. -

Hi Shari Thanks for the info on Chianti Grill. I live very close to Burnsville. We'll have to give it a try. Sorry, I don't have any gastro info for you. I hope that someone else does. TT ~ thanks for the Cooqi update too. I'm glad that they are doing well! I'll have to call and ask what is safe now for my dd. -
ARCHIVED Enjoy Life Snack Bars
Cheri A replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My dd hasn't tried the bars, but we have tried the cookies. Her favorite is the snickerdoodle ones. They come in a little snack pack so we keep a case at school for birthday treats. -

ARCHIVED Bento Box Saves School Lunch! Onigiri Rocks!
Cheri A replied to zarfkitty's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Pizza Bento sound great! I was at Target last night and browsed the container aisle. I saw a product I hadn't seen before and may buy for my dd's existing lunchbox. I am just worried about where her water bottle would go. What will you all do for that? Open Original Shared Link -
Hi Cheryl ~ Thanks for the information. I will keep that in mind if we go again. I guess "John" was not the person to leave a message for. He was who I was connected to and I forget his title now. I think I will send Gary my input and experience because they missed out on a lot of $$ because we chose not to eat there.

Way cool!! Thanx for that info Buffetbride and Zarfkitty! I checked Williams and Sonoma on the web and saw those ice cream molds...way cute!! I HAVE to have those! They didn't have the cutters on the site though. I'll have to see if I can get to the mall soon! I looked through my cutters and used a star cutter today to cut out ham... -

Wow, I have loved looking at this thread. I have a couple questions.. Do you think that if I just used smooshed up rice that it would work without the seaweed paper and other stuff? I saw "sushi" rice yesterday at the store.. would that be the kind to buy? When you all say that you are using cookie cutters, are they plastic or metal? I once... -
ARCHIVED Emotional Iissues Over "being Different"
Cheri A replied to pinktroll's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
((hugs)) for you and daughter!! It took us months to grieve for the loss of wheat! My dd also has multiple other food allergies and the inconclusive celiac/positive wheat allergy came years after the others. But, it was the piece that finally got rid of the the belly aches, vomitting and bottom troubles. It IS hard. I don't think that eating a twizzler... -
ARCHIVED Great Wolf Lodge Resort, Sandusky Oh
Cheri A replied to Cheri A's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
The rides in Cedar Point were really cool and the park is HUGE! We are passholders at the park here in MN and it is about 1/2 as big as CP. We were there for 2 1/2 days and loved every minute of it. We would go in the morning stay until mid-day and then go back to GW to swim in the waterpark and relax and eat an early dinner and then go back into the park... -
Since noone posted a reply to my ? about restaurants near Cedar Point in Sandusky OH, I thought I'd post an update in case anyone is looking in the future. Three words... Great Wolf Lodge! We stayed there because the rates were reasonable compared to the outrageous rates of the resorts on site at CP. They also have a water park that the kids really...

ARCHIVED Great Wolf Lodge Resort, Sandusky Oh
Cheri A posted a topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
A while ago, I posted a request to find out if anyone knew of any good restaurants near Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky OH. There were no replies. We just got back home from an awesome vacation! My DH found Great Wolf Lodge on line and they had decent rates and a water park that is about 10 minutes away from CP. I called and spoke to Russ,... -
I second the vote for Cerrone Cones ~ Carleigh loves them!

MMM, this sounds really good!! I think I'll make one of these soon!! Thanks for the ideas!

My dd takes drops sublingually and I believe it has helped her tremendously. Much less of a hassle than going to the dr every week too.

ARCHIVED School Lunches
Cheri A replied to mama2two's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh, I love those little containers from The Container Store! I'm going to order a couple of those and a salad bowl for next year! Thank you!! Sorry for those of you that are wishing you could send PB and cannot. But, as a mom of a peanut-allergic child, thank you for abiding by it. Definitely try the sun-butter. My son loves it. I send many... -
I also like to make my own chicken stock. I like to use a rotisserie chicken carcass in the crock pot with chunks of celery, carrots and onion (with skin for golden color). I also put in a few cloves of garlic and whatever seasonings I feel like. I usually use Mrs. Dash, basil, thyme, celery salt. I let it go for a LONG time on low (12 hours or...

ARCHIVED Mannatech?
Cheri A replied to Cheri A's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, why the hostility?! That is not what I was asking for. Gentleheart has been very kind in her exchanges and, to me, has been giving thoughtful information that has been helpful to me. I do not feel that she is forcing any product on us, at all. I bumped this thread because I wanted credible information refuting what Mannatech claims. Not a... -
