We'll be leaving Friday for a week at the beach!!!!! Does anyone have any ideas of what I should pack, food wise? The island has grocery stores, but I have no idea if they have any gluten-free products. I was thinking about making some cocoa pebble treats (like rice krispie treats) and some peanut butter cookies to have in the car for snacks....

I didn't think that Levsin helped me at all. I now take Flexiril, it's a muscle relaxer. It helps me alot. I think most of my problem is a tightening and spasms of the stomach and intestines. Anyway- it works for me! Good Luck- Lollie

i feel your pain 9 about the Krispie Kreme) I think they must have big fans that pump that smell out to get us to want to go get one. I love chocolate cake too. I make the Namste cake---It's really good. I put my grandma's recipe for fudge frosting on the top! It is excellent, if I don't say so myself! Lollie -

Welcome to the board!!!! I know that fatigue is definantly a symptom of all this! It isn't unusual to be very tired! There is a chance your kids have it, it is genetic. Welcome to the board!!!!Fellow Texan!!!!! Where are you at? I'm in Dallas. Now for the diet, you can get the forbidden foods list from this site over on the menu- I think it's under site index... Any way it's a list of things we can't have, and the names of things that contain gluten in a hidden fashion! There was already good advice about the diet... -
I have prayers of peace and hope going out to all of you! I'm sorry that so many have gone through so much because of this disease. I'm in complete agreement with ChelsE, I thank God daily that He let my husband find out about this disease, before it was able to do the lasting harm that so many of you endure. My complaints seem so minor compared with...

Wow- I'm so sorry you had such a terrible experience. I have only been gluten free for 4 months. My reactions are the same as what you have described. I recently did something wrong, still trying to figure out what I did wrong. I woke up at 1 in the morning, with stomache cramps and severe nausea. I sweated with the pain. It felt like I was being stabbed...

I'm with Nini- Krispy Kreme, croissants, and Einsteins Bagels!!!! And I really miss cholcolate malts and malted milk balls! I haven't given in or anything, but man, I do covet them. Especially when my kids have them and I can smell them..... lollie -
Thanks Patti! I guess it must be the soy. I can't normally eat it, or if I do just every once in a while. It makes sense that it would build up in time. Man that just sucks, because the vitamins did help my energy level. But, believe me, they just aren't worth it. Thanks again! Lollie

Sure Patti. They are Coenayme B Food Complex, by New Chapter Organics. On the ingredients, the only thing that I think might be a factor is the organic milled soy. But, is it possible to feel so good at first and then a week later finally have this kind of horrible reaction? I am still feeling pretty bad. I am very weak now. And the brain fog is ridiculous...

I've got a question. I started taking a B vitamin complex with probiotics last week. I posted that the results had been extremely positive. I have taken the one vitamin daily since. I have been queezy at night for about a week. I also have a cold/allergies that have my sinus in fits. Yesterday, I felt great, went to bed at a normal time. But my stomach...

I want to add my feelings! I was so sick for the past few years. Sick to the point of thinking I was definantly going to die young. I didn't know what to do. I didn't retain any of my food for more then 30 minutes....We all know the drill, but that was before I knew anything about Celiac. For the first time in my adult life, I feel like I'm going... -
Congratulations!!!!!! I just love weddings! I had fruit, vegies and finger sandwiches for the food at my wedding. We had it at 8pm so it wasn't like we had to feed everybody dinner. And as for the cake, I would try the gluten free options. Give them a try and see what you like. I love the idea that jkmunchkin had about having the layer that was...

I agree! And welcome! I would add a few things to the list of bland food to start with. Try fresh fruit and veggies, plain organic meat, rice, and dairy like yougurt and cheese. If you csn tolerate dairy, not every one can. It will get better it just takes time! Right now you just have tofocus on learning how to be truly gluten free, and healing! ...

ARCHIVED Fajita/tortilla Shells
Lollie replied to awesomeame's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just use a white corn tortilla instead. I really like the flavor anyway! I get mine right at the regular grocers. They just have corn, lime, and salt! And they say gluten free right on them. Oh, and I like the white better then the yellow! lollie
