ARCHIVED Lindt Chocolate
MistressIsis replied to georgie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've found some Ghiradelli chocolate is safe. Used to be diehard Lindt but all my favorites have gluten so I just avoid it now. I did do the 70% for awhile but it's not the flavor I like so... -
ARCHIVED Bread Crumbs?
MistressIsis replied to hineini's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
www.gilliansfoods.com Excellent bread products. So far I haven't thrown out or returned anything I've gotten from them. Bread crumbs are really good but you need to add herbs & spices to them before useing. Also set the heat a little lower so they don't burn -
ARCHIVED What Is Grain Alcohol Usually?
MistressIsis replied to floridanative's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Don't forget my new fave Tito's Vodka (corn) There's some more but everything tasted like moonshine! I can't touch Smirnoff, gives me insta-headache -
A diabetic friend told me Aquafina & another bottled water actually has just enough sodium in it to keep you thirsty so you keep drinking their water. I dunno how true thatis but it's a thought. Also you can actually die from drinking too much H2O. I remember a case a few years ago of an MIT student that died from drinking too much water too fast...

I'm 5'2" and about 105lbs...I find Juniors Depts fit me better. Sometimes hard to find pants or jeans that aren't super super low but a longer shirt hides that part. If you have no butt get the J.Lo jeans, they give you a booty if you have none

ARCHIVED Monosodium Glutamate <--that's Msg, Right?
MistressIsis replied to Sweetfudge's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've heard the conflicting info too. In fact, the local chinese food place near work that I always go to brought the jar out to me & it said wheat starch on it so I just ask for whatever I want without it & tell then I'm allergic. It could be something else in it but I notice if I forget I get mild symptoms. I've been thinking about the labeling... -
ARCHIVED You're Know You're A Celiac If...
MistressIsis replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
LOL! Kristen! I do the same thing! Walk down the bread & packaged yummies aisle just for the smell -
HA! No you haven't... it's because Grey Goose is distilled 3 times over limestone so everything is gone. Open a bottle of GG & a bottle of Absolute and just smell them. There's almost no scent to GG whereas Absolute almost smells like rubbing alcohol. I believe Kettle is distilled at least twice Seriously, I stopped drinking because I'd have a...

ARCHIVED You're Know You're A Celiac If...
MistressIsis replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I HATE that one...my overweight family members have said, Oh maybe I should try your diet! Then they give up after 2 days. - Your housemate comes home form a catering job & is thrilled to tell you how someone came in needing a gluten-free meal, explained everything to the chef and then my friend reiterated everything after the guest left and added... -
OH YAY! That's fantastic Adelle. i share a computer as well & forgot ALL about that until I hadn't been feeling "right" now the rubbing alcohol comes in with me & leaves with me.

hmmm, I'm just about due so I'll let ya know I have noticed since going gluten-free 2 yrs ago that my period is barely there & for a shorter duration. Maybe 1 big cramp & then no more. Instead of constant hedaaches, maybe 1 day. Although it is like clockwork so that good. Before going gluten-free, my period was 8 long days and very very heavy...

also check with your labor board for your state. They may even be able to recommend a lawyer specific to your issue. My last company we had several female sales reps, 1 finally got pregnant & we accomadated her, in fact we refused to allow her to fly or travel past a certain distance. She covered 4 states in the Southwest so it's a large territory

despise the winter & cold. Just moved to AZ to get away from it & I ended up working graveyard shift..it's COLD here at night! The only thing I've ever found to help other than the obvious (layers, go tanning) is eating more garlic. I put it in everything I can & I find I don't get as cold as fast. my hands don't get as tingly-numb either
-
vodkas I tend to stick to the top shelf. Absolute makes me SO sick!! & it used to be my one & only. Now I drink Grey Goose, Kettle one, Tito's there are only a few potato vodkas in the states, most are made from grains but are distilled. I find that the vodkas that are distilled less than twice bother me. Tito's is made from corn. What's this...

ARCHIVED Bc Pills?
MistressIsis posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've searched through the forum but haven't found anything on this. Are there any birth control pills that are gluten-free? I know the last one I was on was the final thing giving me issues so I stopped about a year ago... Thanks! -

ARCHIVED I Got The Fed Ex Job...i'm So Nervouse About My Tummy Now!
MistressIsis replied to IrishKelly's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I get the nervous stomach thing too....my mother always made fun because anytime I was super anxious growing up, I'd go into the bathroom like 20 times in an hour...actually my eldest sister has nervous stomach too. I find giving myself the mental peptalk of "you'll be fine, you know this, just breathe and relax" Then I do a few deep breaths & stomach... -
Hope you're feeling better! I got glutened this past week somewhere & I haven't been sleeping well or I've been sleeping too much, that little twinge is back & I cannot figure out where it's coming from!
