  1. It is the generic for Levsin/levsinex, and it's an anti-spasmodic. I've been taking it for a month or so because I get AWFUL stomach spasms and those seem to take the edge off. I take it on an as needed basis, and it doesn't make the nausea worse, though there is only so far the meds can go. I prefer Bentyl which is a shorter acting version of levsinex...
  2. I feel sorry for you! My mom took the NY bar a couple of years ago after graduating from the law school at Queens college, good luck! The NY bar is the worst, and the MPRE sucks anywhere
  3. Finally figured out what the name of my yogurt was, because I ate some I eat Cascade Fresh because it says gluten free right on the package and it has 8 active cultures instead of the standard 6. It's clutured right in the cup and it's pretty good. I got it at whole foods. EDIT: wow, sounds like I'm advertising! I'm not, I have no financial interest...
  4. I'm new at this, too, but it sounds like you have gleaned pretty much what I have. The dairy thing depends on how damaged your villi are. I don't know if I'm intolerant or not, doesn't seem to bother me much, and either way, one crisis at a time. I'm right there with you on the SCD diet, I know people rave about it, but it seems way too raw vegan...
  5. Well, I'm talking to my lawyer about sueing both God and Mother Earth... God for dreaming wheat up to begin with, and Mother Earth for agreeing to produce it! I wonder what THAT statute of limitations is...
  6. That's a Vague McAnswer if I do say so myself I guess they're standing behind their "well we're trying" fence, eh? All I know is that they don't really agree with me.
  7. I like the *accidental* part of the statment. Oops, I accidentally kept reaching into the jar and accidentally put more in my mouth and accidentally chewed and accidentally swallowed and accidently repeated the motion SIXTY TIMES
  8. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE MAKE LIFE EASIER FOR YOURSELF AND GET HER SOME DARN YOGURT!!!! Yeast infections are 100x worse than pms, mood wise. Store brand is fine, I think it's safe to say that all yogurt has live cultures. It'll say "contains live cultures" or something to that effect on the package
  9. Some people have issues with vinegar in spite of it being gluten free (yes, vinegar is gluten-free, except malt vinegar). Apparently some ricotta has vinegar in it, my guess it's the company's way of speeding up the curdling process.
  10. Be careful about taking too much. There can be too much of a good thing, and an overgrowth of good bacteria is almost as bad as an overgrowth of bad bacteria! Remember that probiotics are living bacteria! There's definitely a balance that needs to be attained in the digestive tract.
  11. Probiotics are just good bacteria, and the bacteria is what makes the yogurt, well, yogurt. When it says active cultures, the cultures are bacteria. My mom's been forcing yogurt on me for years whenever I've had stomach problems. Now she's moved on to her grandkids Like, when you have the stomach flu (w/D especially) or like us, chronic D, all...
  12. That's why I've made it a habit to always get copies of bloodwork results.
  13. I haven't tried them, since they look like styrofoam. I get nervous about really shiny gluten-free crackers in that way I am *in love* with Blue Diamond Nut Thins. I only eat the almond kinds since I'm allergic to other tree nuts, but they are FANTASTIC and taste great with cheese!
  14. Sounds kind of like a Shoebox greeting card, doesn't it? I'm going to start a line of greeting cards for things you don't really know how to respond to, like that Other examples would be: "Congratulations on your divorce being finalized, feel free to frequent strip clubs without guilt!" "Eat sh*t and die, cause I never liked you anyway...
  15. I absolutely LOVE these! I never would have thought of it if I didn't have to be gluten-free
  16. (I apologize for the Lionel Richie reference) I never thought I would be happy about being diagnosed with a genetic autoimmune disorder ... I just came back from the Dr. and based on the blood tests, and the fact that I already feel better after only a few weeks, she's given me the official Celiac diagnosis! I'm not just a hippie hypochondriac...
  17. I've only ever used they're actual pizza crust mix, but I would follow the directions for making regular bread and roll out the dough thin, brush with olive oil, and bake for 20-30 mins, take it out and top it with cheese and sauce and put it back into the oven for 10 mins. I put parm in the crust, like the directions say, and it gives it a wonderful...
  18. Have fun with the chebe pizza! Even my hubby likes it, and he spit out perfectly good gluten-free banana bread I'm having it tonight, too! I have a girl scout lock in to go to and I'm going to eat that while they have Papa John's (which is the worst pizza ever! ) ENJOY!!!
  19. Does depend on the Dr. I would say that if you're celiac and your child has positive bloodwork, they'll probably forgo the endo. On the vomiting, horrible pain, big D and all, yes. I have that, they never could figure out why or what it was. I've always had a sensitive stomach, and I throw up over nothing. Even as a kid, I would wake up in the...
  20. I don't get the tounge thing, but I do get a rash on the inside of my mouth if I eat pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, dark chocolate, eggplant, and some other random things... Dr says it's an allergic reaction, my guess is that its the same with your tongue thing.
  21. I've only used my massive box once, since I normally just use real taters, too... But sometimes, I'm too lazy! Here's a link to some faker tater recipes: Open Original Shared Link
  22. You know what, someone cut me off on the road this morning, I'm going to sue them! My coffee was cold at starbucks! I'm going to sue! Who cares if it was a frappucino! My desk chair at work is not satisfactorily comfortable, I'm going to sue! Glutened by m&m's? Eh, that's ok, what can I expect from a food manufacturer
  23. Awesome! I have a lot of trouble with grown-up vitamins, they tend to make me sick I usually take flinstones (not now, but when I'm on a vitamin kick), are the gummies gentle on the tummy?
  24. My aunt is a nurse (and a fairly decent cook) and asked if white bread had wheat in it. :::British accent::: "You can still have white bread, can't you dear?"
  25. I have ridiculous pain, too. It feels like someone filled up my stomach like a balloon, and then it starts cramping horribly and I can't function without serious meds. I've gone to the ER several times for it and I leave with narcotics and a shrug. They did an upper GI, sonagram, endoscopy, and never really found anything. I think the GI doc said after...
