Hang in there moms (posters and lurkers)! If school officials didn't believe me at first about my daughters illness and warnings to keep those foods away from her, they did when she vommitted. When she had to be hospitalized on average of once a school year for dehydration. She would go back to school with I.V. scabs and bruises. It was also a Christian...

ARCHIVED Making Gluten Free Affordable
mommida replied to Chris04626's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My daughter was a toddler when the diagnoses happened. A 2 year old just shouldn't have temptation around. The whole household went gluten free. Now no one can eat it anymore in this house. 10 years gluten free. If there are gluten free products you like, consider buying in bulk over the internet. Buy a case from the company if possible and cut out... -
ARCHIVED Throwing Up As A Symptom Of Glutening?
mommida replied to gleegan's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have been gluten free for years. Then I developed an intolerance to Lobster. (I will vomit in 15 minutes to 2 hours after eating it.) Are you sure you aren't having a reaction to a different food? That being said I swear I have vommited as a reaction to gluten too. -

Everyone has a story that has lead them here. You have a story that is still being written. Later, maybe, they will publish the memoirs. I'll turn mine into some what of a small movie clip. (Imagine me as some glorious hot chick.) Roll footage... Plugged into The Matrix. My imaginary life track is ... glitched. I'm stuck in the bathroom.... -

(Not trying to quote today) Irish, you are my Genius! I wrote out the Anam Cara for my husband for Valentine's Day, it was very special to me. What a great way to say I love you! Keep watching the private owned start up companies in the gluten free market. See how they are bought up or merged into each other? (The admin "google" alert postings... -
ARCHIVED Secret Deodorant

Eosinophilic Esophagitus is the modern medical mystery. (I am a bit bitter paying for specialist that can only say "just don't know". *Something* just triggers the production of eosinophils to be produced and the nasty white blood cells just damage everything. Fortunately we have narrowed down some of the food triggers (have suspects for the airborne triggers... -
ARCHIVED Secret Deodorant

From the case files of some of the chickenpox deaths, its seems there was extreme OVERmedication. The patient was given more drugs that need to processed by the liver, when the liver is needed to process the virus. So the patient "died from chickenpox" but IMO the patient died because of liver failure. My opinion was partly formed from Reye's syndrome... -

Glad things are working out better for your family. Any question you can come up with someone here will tackle it. (We have had ALL kinds of questions, so you might want to keep kids in the kids only sections.) Keep an eye on the anemia. There is a connection between Celiac and Pernicious anemia. Pernicious anemia is caused when the gut lining (think... -

Sorry, did you think you were chatting with someone who is/was sane? With time comes experience. I have not brought any gluten into the house, except pet food. (fish food) It is handled like poison. My daughter was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitus (related to Celiac, but an utter mystery). One of the common theories to the mystery is... -

This is a front loader and I wash whtes on sanitize too. That is the load I used the baby powder on. I was trying to see the difference of a "solid" the powder and "liquid" the Febreeze. It's not like anyone chews on clothes or eats deodorant. If you do I think they will put you on a show called "My strange addiction." -

You should also have a screening test for Lupus and thyroid. Thyroid issues can be affected by seaweed. Seaweed has iodine. You mentioned it and it has to be part of what is going on here with your health. -

Awesome! Got a $0.55 off coupon too. The new product has eggs in it so it won't work for our household, but I'm so glad there is another replacement for most Celiacs. -
Could be your symptoms of gluten withdrawal.

ARCHIVED Taking The Coeliac Challenge
mommida replied to Cobalt's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you plan on having any further medical tests you would need to continue eating gluten. The tests only find damage that eating gluten has done to the patient. There is genetic testing, but that is not enough for most physicians to diagnose Celiac. (You already know your father has been diagnosed Celiac.) So if you are ready to try the diet, remember... -
ARCHIVED Secret Deodorant

You know I have been thinking about this a bit longer. My husband switched deodorants. This one is stronger scented. I could smell it all over his shirt as I pulled it out of the washer. Then I did some more testing. I added some baby powder or sprayed clothes with Febreeze before washing them. I could still smell the baby powder or Fabreeze. Not... -
