  1. Well I have siblings that didn't believe me at first either. My daughter was in diapers, so they did see first hand what a gluten blowout is. Now they believe some people just can't handle gluten no matter what may or may not be in a patient file at the doctor's office. They still don't believe enough to get tested themselves. My brother is...
  2. We ended up doing public charter cyber school. The kids connect to the teachers by livelessons, webmail, and telephone. Public school so all the books/some supples are sent to us through the mail. Postage paid envelopes for some assignments to be turned in other are email documents. We get reimbursement for the internet costs. It is accredited too. ...
  3. I now longer have any cat toy doorstops on any of the doors in my house. Mr. Bones was not on any type of schedule for making music with them. It didn't matter if it was 3 AM. Bones also likes to have "romantic" moments with anything purple and fuzzy. He was nuetered at the time he was old enough and I have never seen or heard of cats doing this...
  4. My brother lives in Holland with his family. I really like that area! Well, some of the racy stuff nearly caused a riot! Some really awesome people left the site never to return after being chewed and spit out.
  5. Well I have been busted talking too racy on the forum before. I just wanted everyone to know I'm trying to behave today. I can't guarantee anything for tomorrow or the day after. I am in the lower pennisula. (yup I'm a troll)
  6. I don't know the ad is just kinda CREEPY! Like I can't stop thing what IS behind the lollipop? Is it the face of the offspring of Ronald McDonald and Wendy? Possibly painted up like a freaky psycho clown? Now the thought of a conjoined twin has just sent me over the top. For the record my skirt is currently proplerly placed, thank you very much...
  7. Michigan State has done a great job taking care of my friend's son with actual allergies. I will let you know about my son's experience this summer for gluten free. Just in case a found some AWESOME gluten free pizza at Guido's Pizza! (just in case) I asked some students about the food. I found a friend of a Celiac student. (not bad for under ...
  8. You and your child are going to have to meet the doctor in person. Make sure the doctor listens and has a decent bedside manner.
  9. Start working with a gastroenterologist. You have symptoms for Celiac, but also another short list of disorders too. If you are Celiac, there is another short list of possible disorders that are higher odds for a Celiac too. Some of these need to be diagnosed by an endoscopy with biopsy. (This would be a good idea to see what damage GERD has done or if...
  10. Celiac and EE do have connections. We are starting to get statistics of patients with both Celiac and EE. Some EE patients may need to be gluten free. I am going to dare to say we might have at least 10% EE peeps here. (Let's just say I found quicker answers herefrom our EE folks than searching out EE sites.)
  11. Celiac can come out of families' that have not previously had any diagnoses cases of Celiac. Even Prometheus labs have explained that sometimes genes mutate. Since Celiac is an auto-immune disease, it usually has a "trigger". The problem is no Celiac's can only guess what their trigger was. Unfortunately testing in patients under 24 months is notoriously...
  12. The doctor is wrong. A gluten free diet can be very healthy. Fruits and veggies, meat, and avoiding processed foods can be very healthy. If you compare gluten free egg -free bread (with holding brand name)it does have added sodium, less vitamins and minerals. Most gluten bread like (wonder bread) have been vitamin fortified in comparison. So I would...
  13. I'm not trying at all. Hubby got the big snip. Just practice. But good luck to you! Some things I remember about being pregnant early was either incredibly hungry or feeling queasy. The blood vessels in my gums made them look very red. I had recently had some dental work and I thought something was wrong. I could feel my pulse in the insicion...
  14. There are some people that suffer through withdrawal from gluten. For certain individuals gluten has an opiate affect. That is a hard habit to quit. It is no wonder you are miserable. There is also a natural feeling of mourning the loss of gluten and the easy lifestyle of not thinking about what you are eating. I do think you should start taking...
  15. The pizza was AHMAZING! (you have to say that outloud like a giddy stoner.) :D I can't wait to go back for some more! You will swear it is "normal" pizza. We are feeling a little ill from overstuffing our tummies today.
  16. What really concerns me is you have listed pancreatic insufficiency. My daughter was too ill to complete Celiac testing for "gold standard" positive. She has been hospitalized for cyclic vommitting that lead to dehydration and hooked up to an IV for up to 4 days. (Before and after diagnoses of Eosinophilic Esophagitus too.) It seems some testing...
  17. Awww. I am thinking of you all today!
  18. Get a hard copy of the test results. Keep the appointment just to make sure there is no major diagnoses at this appointment before you switch doctors. The "blisters in the back of the throat" makes me think you should look up Eosinophilic Esophagitus. (At least take note of how many eosinophils were present during the scoping.) Do you have pictures...
  19. I just talked to Steve on the phone from Guido's. He is making gluten free egg free pizza for us on Saturday!!!! So if you give enough advance notice he will help you out. I am looking forward to it and feel very confident it will be safe. We are going to try normal pizza and the deep dish. (He must think I am a gluten free GLUTON!)
  20. I'm not above praying for a furry friend!
  21. Was it ever determined where the blood was coming from? What color was the blood when you passed it? My daughter vommitted blood from having Eosinophilic Esophagitus. A person can have eosinophils in any part of the GI tract. Do you have scoping/test results? Angie start drinking some smart water with potassium added vitamin and minerals and start...
  22. Sorry, you really only have to have one Celiac gene to have Celiac. I think 30% of Celiacs can be IGA deficient. That is why a full test panel will have a total IGA count, to make sure the individual even has IGA. A carrier of 2 Celiac genes, seems to be more sensitive with a stronger reaction to a smaller amount of gluten. My daughter has DQ2 and...
  23. My daughter has Celiac and Eosinophilic Esophagitus too. She hadd "allergy" testing done too. (back prick testing and delayed food testing, waiting on a more recent blood test results) She is not truely "allergic" to anything. The only thing that helped was an elimination diet. In the case of eosinophils a reaction can last for 12 days, so you...
  24. Exploration Days at MSU? I have been looking into possible places to eat too. I am going to write down a list of places that look interesting and that are close to campus when I visit next weekend. Is that the location you need too?

    ARCHIVED Pediatric Gi In Cleveland

Hi Stephanie, I am from Michigan, so I don't understand CCF. I would try to get my daughter into Cincinnati Children's Hospital. My daughter has probable Celiac, but most definately Eosinophilic Esophagitus. CCH is one of the leading hospitals for EE. EE has a connection to Celiac. There is a recent article from the Ottawa Sun (March 28,201...
