  1. Check out the website, if interested: Open Original Shared Link Caution: Made in a facility which handles wheat and nuts (warning on product)
  2. Although I won't say "price is no object" I am flexible on pricing. Yes, I use a laptop - I don't have room for both desktop & laptop at my "computer station" at home. I need the portability of laptop for work. I was confused about the "innards" - which system is best, which has the best reputation..etc? ...I am not sure what "freeware...
  3. Hi I do not have celiac but my husband does. I had gallbladder removed in 07 and yes, still having D issues but only in AM, not after every meal My SIL had gallbladder removed in 08 and she has D after each meal. My Dr. prescribed Questran and I take Immodium about twice a week. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with gastritis and take Nexium....
  4. Yes, classes wherein I'll have to download graphics, Excel spreadsheets (accounting, finance, statistics). I don't want to "underbuy" for these needs. I don't want to buy a laptop that someone would purchase for a grammar school child and find out afterwards if I had paid just a little extra I could have gotten what I needed. Thanks for your help...
  5. Hi, I am about to purchase my second ever laptop, my second ever PC and so much as changed since I last purchased one. I was wondering what the difference is between these "innards" of computers: 1) Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with Centrino 2 Technology 2) Intel Celeron Processor 3) Intel Pentium Duel Core Processor 4) (HP) Pavilion (is a Pavilion...
  6. We cannot wait for this medication to become out to the public. It would be wonderful for my husband, who is 100% gluten-free all the time, to be able to attend a wedding or such, and have a gluten-free meal and not have to worry about possible cross contamination in the kitchen. Or eat gluten-free over someone else's home and not have to worry about...
  7. I agree. "once" is a mistake, again is deliberate and against house rules. She's more than an adult, she's a middle-aged woman who should respect her father's and your home and rules. I wouldn't even go to my mother's house and start cooking and she's my mother.
  8. In USA there are no general benefits from govt. for being sick . The only program would be Social Security Insurance (SSI) and only if the illness is a disability which keeps you from working a full-time job and then you have to be pretty sick to qualify. Many people get turned down for SSI on their first try and have to hire attorney to get on SSI...
  9. I agree. Your home and family should be your sanctuary...you expect that kind of attitude from the world, not your family. Dear Gluten Free For Me: 1) You need to do more than one thing on your checklist. Since your family won't step up to the plate on your behalf & remind your brother that you have something uncontrollable going...
  10. I had GB out in 8/07. I take Questran for diarrhea - but I do not take the entire dosage (packet) One packet lasts a day or two for me. As to original poster....you need to see a competent GI (where are you from?) You could have a stone in the bile duct, but you'd probably be jaundiced by now. I hope you get the relief you need right away.
  11. I had such bad left side pain with my ovarian cysts (3 of them on one ovary) that I needed prescripton pain meds and it was not in any danger of rupturing. The pain came on suddenly and I thought I had diverticulitis - GP ran a CT Scan - saw something on ovary and told me to see my ob/gyn. Ob/gyn did ultrasound and there is was - 3 medium cysts all ganging...
  12. Starbucks never sold the Orange Valencia cake at the store I went to. In fact (as you will recall I do not have celiac disease but my husband does and I wanted to buy an Orange Valencia for him to have), I have tried their other gluten treats (scones, etc.) and they are awful (you're not mssing anything). As a gluten consumer, I do not feel that going...
  13. Hi Glad to see a new face Were you tested for lactose intolerance? DM
  14. Janet, Are you under a doctor's care? If so, what does the doctor say? What tests has he run for other digestive disorders? I can't give you any advice at this point without knowing more. I have to tell you that my husband has been gluten free for almost 5 years & he still has problems with fat absorption. He is at a very low weight but seems...
  15. I am not celiac (hubby is) but I am post-gallbladder removal 2 years and still have "D". I live on Questran (cholestryamine for oral suspension) and Immodium and lately Nexium for the gastritis the bile is doing to my gut. Seems I can't handle the irritation of random bile coming into my system. I believe Dr. Habba prescribes Questran for Habba syndrome...
  16. Peter, Have a very happy birthday! Best wishes Deb
  17. Congratulations to the non-smokers for keeping to their promise to themselves. Please remember it's not only money you are saving when you stop smoking, but you are saving yourselves from future suffering. My mom's sister (my aunt) is in a special nursing home, she was a smoker up until it was too late. She's been there since last year when she was...
  18. I attempted to send you this info in a Priv. Message but you have a block on it; this info doesn't pertain to Celiac; but here goes: try this site Open Original Shared Link and Open Original Shared Link Reason: Sometimes a gallbladder which is "misfiring" can cause IBS or celiac-like symptoms. I am not saying that you don't have gluten...
  19. I haven't posted much during past several months , however, I wanted to share this with you. My husband and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in a few weeks. When we first got married he was so ill - and for so many years - that we didn't think we'd get to the 25th let alone the 30th.
  20. Dear Wombat, What was the injection schedule? Once a week? What foods did you eat during the test period? How did the testers monitor your progress and verify the results? Your experience sounds interesting. D.
  21. Does Anyone eat at Boston Market & have the roasted chicken ? Boston Market's website states that the chicken & turkey are gluten free.
  22. That makes sense then. Although I do not see what a credit rating or finishing college has to do with being a better driver (less risk). I think people with bad credit should get the benefit of the doubt and always have the same low rate as someone with good credit. I have been in insurance industry for almost 30 years and have seen very bad drivers...
  23. Ok, must have missed it before..
  24. Just curious: are the managers and/or servers trained to people with diet sensistivities? Is Ruby Tuesday as good about the cross contamination as Outback Steakhouse or Charlie Brown's?
