  1. That does sound plausible, mmmm well maybe someone else will be along who knows more than I, glad to hear your vitamin and mineral levels were checked. It is amazing how often they are not.
  2. Hi, I read this recently and thought you might find it of interest: Open Original Shared Link Basically an article about the rise in whey powder protein drinks.
  3. Hi. I don't know if I have had that symptom, I have had some strange sensations and what you are describing feels familiar but not quite the same. I have had strong sensations in the area of my sternum but more like everything seizing. The first thing that jumped out at me about your post is the symptoms you have that may to related to a B deficiency...
  4. Hi. I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you, perhaps a parent will come along that can help with your questions. I just wanted to say, good for you for trusting yourself. Diarrhea is not normal.
  5. There are many of us who do have a problem with gluten in personal products. Personally my skin gets very irritated if I use anything with gluten in it.
  6. Sorry to hear that. While cross contamination may be an issue I am wondering if it is the preservatives they use in the apples. Were they the only thing you ate yesterday? When you ate them earlier in the week, did you eat them on an empty stomach? Did you eat as many? Just curious, please don't feel you must answer.
  7. Hi. If you have some time, check out the signatures of some of the regular posters, you will see years of ill health, various illnesses diagnosed, fibro, diabetes, arthritis, depression.....long list and then you will see Celiac. The testing is notoriously inaccurate. It may or not be Celiac but for sure your digestion is struggling and when we...
  8. More information is not a bad thing. Sorry you are feeling so frustrated, punching someone is a very bad idea, even saying you want to punch someone is not a great idea. What about a long walk to work off some of that energy?
  9. I am glad to hear that your B levels are up and that you are addressing the D deficiency too and yes to the magnesium although someone more scientific than I would be better to respond to it. I'm sorry about the issues you have had to deal with, depression is linked to Celiac and so often that is missed, not that I am assuming it was in your case, and...
  10. When you change your diet! Sorry Mr. Moore, I couldn't resist. I am very glad to know there is no sign of glaucoma or eye problems. Have you been reading other posts here? I have thought of you several times, there was one post about migraines that really reminded me of you. I am really wondering why you resist the idea that changing your...
  11. 1) I had a number of neuro symptoms that cleared up with Vitamin B shots, where are your B levels at? It is very common for Celiacs to be low in Vitamin B12 and D in particular although not only those. Has your doctor done blood work to check your vitamin and mineral levels? 2) I just read that this may also be related to B deficiencies. 3 ...
  12. Here is a Open Original Shared Link to some information on Casein. Also, I don't want to discourage you from getting any tests. I was desperate by the time I had the Igenex test and did treat the Lyme with nutraceticals but I think the main thing in my health improving has been dietary changes that is why I suggested seeing what happens first. If...
  13. I have the same problem, I am hoping that after some time and healing I may be able to eat cheese again. I think it is a casein problem which is common when the villi have been damaged. I read somewhere here that after four years someone was able to reintroduce dairy. That's a long time but it gave me hope. I did have a little of the goat cheese...
  14. A gluten free diet may resolve many of your symptoms, it is worth giving it some time to see if it will before other testing, just my opinion. I was tested through Igenex a lab in California, they do a test which is considered one of the most reliable tests for it.
  15. Very interesting.
  16. No kidding, as you say normal for me did not mean normal and constipation is always a sign of problems, if not in the short term then in the long term. I was tested for Lyme and treated it with nutraceticals.
  17. What a painful lesson. As others have said, yes to it being a reaction to gluten although I don't know about your son who is still ill, perhaps he should see a doctor if it doesn't resolve soon. It is also a brilliant example of how varied our reactions can be. I hope you are all feeling better soon.
  18. Hi. I have Lyme disease too and it is my feeling that it triggered the Celiac. I also have a family with Celiac. My sister and brother were both diagnosed through endoscopy and another brother and I self diagnosed through symptoms and the obvious family connection, plus another sister who is still in denial but dabbles in the gluten free world and...
  19. EEK! Okay aside from the gluten the sugar is so bad for you, I have read that sugar steals nutrients from your body in order to process it, you need all the nutrition you can get. What about substituting sparkling water with some pure fruit juice in it? I make ice-cubes with 100% cranberry juice and use 2 or 3 of them with a can of soda water...
  20. It is hard to feel that way but I wonder if when you look back whether or not you can see improvements. I know the days I feel discouraged I sometimes stop and realize that although I am not yet well, I am so much better. I am glad they are testing to see whether or not their are deficiencies. It is good to ask for a copy of those results and check...
  21. Actually I should have said consistent with the version of the SCD I am doing.
  22. It is an interesting site, well worth research time. His thinking is consistent with the SCD and yet adds another layer into the mix. I hadn't really thought about it much but re-reading what Docto J writes about MSG really hit home. I recall realizing it was MSG I was reacting to, I felt like my skin was crawling on the inside, horrible. The headaches...
  23. Constipation was a major issue for me. I know the stereotype of celiac is diarrhea but it is not always the case. In my twenties I started having migraines, it was also when I started working in a bakery. I would come home from work and whether I had eaten anything there or not I would fall into a kind of drugged sleep. When I woke my mouth...
  24. P.S. Where are your B12 and iron levels at now? I had lots of neuro symptoms when my B12 was really low and they all resolved once I brought those levels up.
  25. I believe you, I come from a family of seven kids and being the oldest I remember five was crazy enough. I hear what you are saying about doctors. I think we will see more and more people suffering from gluten intolerance and celiac, there are studies showing a correlation between digestive disorders and antibiotics and who hasn't been on them...
