Pizza Made Of Cauliflower, No Flour

Hi everyone,

I've just found an interesting recepie on a natural lifestyle blog. I'm interested whether it's good or not. If someone is brave enough to make it please let me know. What's your oppinion on it?

The recipe for 4 people:

  • one head of cauliflower
  • one cup of shredded parmesan
  • one cup of shredded mozzarella (this is what makes the whole crust a real pizza crust)
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 2 eggs (preferably omega-3 or grass-fed)
  • 1/2 tablespoon oregano
  1. Pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Wash cauliflower head, remove leaves and stem, and chop up. Put the cauliflower into your food processor and pulse for 2 minutes. Be careful and do not overdo it as it becomes watery.
  3. Add processed cauliflower to a microwaveable bowl. Microwave, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
  4. Add cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and salt. Mix well. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Add eggs, and mix well.
  6. Pour out onto a greased baking sheet. Spread out evenly so it becomes a pizza form. Bake for 15-20 minutes until lighty brown.
  7. Here comes the fun and creative part. Remove the crust from the oven and top it whatever you like. My favourites are tomatoes, ham, prosciutto, mushrooms and a lot of mozzarella.
  8. Put it back in the oven and bake until the cheese melts.
  9. EAT TIME!
  10.

So?

Hey! I could eat that!!! It has no corn or soy!! And I LOVE cauliflower.

I probably shouldn't try tomato sauce because I suspect a nightshade intolerance, but I could use some of the yummy gluten-free sausage my health food store carries and make a white pizza with it. Now all I need to do is buy a pizza pan and convince myself that even *I*, the world's worst cook, can do this.

Thanks!

This sounds like the one my SIL makes occasionally.  I haven't tried it but she said it was good.

Those cauliflower doughs sound interesting.  I haven't tried them myself but may soon.  Here's a few more links for them.

I make a version very close to that and it is great....it is not like a fresh bread dough...but certainly tastes great to me as it is the only pizza I can currently eat.

I use mango sauce, instead of tomato.  I place mango (NO PEEL) in the food processor and process it until it is sauce.  Easy.  It gives the pizza a tang!  Oh, I can't wait to have some.

For all those who think a gluten-free diet is a way to lose weight, show them this recipe!

Does anyone have a good pizza crust that also excludes eggs?

Adalaide Mentor

I've said it a million times, and this doesn't help with making your own, but I only eat Venice crusts. They are gluten, dairy, soy and egg free. They taste amazing and it doesn't involve smearing or spreading a crust onto a pan, which I'm gonna be honest, offends every sensibility I have. Of course, you pretty much have to pay out the nose for them too.

OMG is right....that sounds incredible -- and somehow manages to double the calories of a regular pizza -- hmmm...maybe I'll make one for Mom whom needs to add a few lbs.

Every ready made crust I've found is rediculous in price!!! I love pizza and I miss it dearly!!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
