The Waiting is the Hardest Part!

I thought it was bad waiting for EGD and biopsy.

It's worse waiting for results.

I had the procedures done Friday, according to the patient portal, my results arrived Tuesday.  I have an appointment next Thursday for results follow up.

Normally, they post the results on the patient portal, the fact that they haven't posted them has a me a little concerned.  I would call but I asked them to send me hard copies of the results before they did the procedures and they said they would and I should have them Thursday or Friday of this week.  I feel like to call them will be overkill and a bit too impatient.  My mail arrives around 5:30, I have a feeling it won't be in the mail but it sure would be nice.

I'm not afraid of anything the EGD or biopsies say, I'm worried because she found nodules on my cecum that she biopsied and I'm afraid there's a problem with those biopsies which is why she doesn't have my results posted.

I agree... (((((hugs))))).  One thing that I've done to get in earlier to get results is to call in the morning and say I've got an appointment next week, but I'm wondering if you've had any cancellations before that.  It's gotten me from waiting 3 weeks to just a few days.  Just a thought...

Imagine my dread and excitement as I received a letter from gastroenterologist in the mail today!  The results of the biopsies of the nodules in my cecum were listed as no sign of cancer.

The celiac biopsies weren't included in the letter.  Hopefully I will receive them tomorrow.  I will call Monday and ask about them if I don't receive them in the mail tomorrow.

I was more concerned about the nodule biopsies, I'm so relieved.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
