Jin, I had hit "quote" when I read your post, but I guess it didn't take ... I didn't remember to comment on finance until I read Tom's post.

I hated Finance. I was a business major, so had to take it. I memorized everything and understood little. After the final exam, I had written down my answers (multiple choice) because they post the answers outside the test after it's over. I checked mine and got a B+. I thought maybe I checked mine against the wrong form (they pass out the same test questions but in a different order to prevent cheating).

I regraded, and really got a B+! I'm sure you'll pass ... just wanted to say, you're not the only one who hated finance.

Donna - such a cute little u in cute pix!!

I was surprised to find mine in color. Had seen so many b/w.

Mine is staying stretched for me, tho. Prior times a refresh cured that. Maybe I should try redo-ing the upload. Hmmmm

Is it not stretched for all of u? I'd guess it's not.

Yes, my boyfriend Timmy is there...I did NOT give him that black eye, and I believe he was not having anything to do with me getting the bird out of the cage.

 Almost ALL of my early pictures were b/w...but that's because the camera had just barely been invented.

I crop all the photos I put on as avatars--not sure if that has anything to do with the stretching??

I think I had an epiphany last night...one would think I had bad insomnia, but actually I slept quite well. I think I am going to have to give up my beloved nut butters and nuts for a while. I hate to cuz they really help keep me full...but they may also be part of the wild Frito cravings in some odd way. I just have to figure out WHAT I can eat in their place....wonder if I can do avocados yet...that would do it...

Sounds like a great idea. It was a bit of a fluke for me to try soy-free again. :)

So, the stepping back from being inside the situation, seeing if what's thought of as the "known truths" can be re-justified, sure can lead to successful eliminations.

I swear I had been POSITIVE soy wasn't an issue for me!!!!!!!!!!!

Good time of year to up 'cado consumption too!! :) I'll eat the ones from Chile, but rejoice when it's time for Californias. They even ripen more reliably, tho maybe only due to vast decrease in travel/shipping.

I am happy to say I have decreased my caffeine intake.

Good for you!! Yay! :D

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night, so I took it then. I leave my meds that need to be taken alone on my nightstand so that if I wake up I can take them. It makes the daily schedule easier when I do that! LOL  Then every two hours during the day I think, what can I take now? I'm ruled by my meds.

So what happens if you don't wake up? ;)

If we both end up having IV anythings...we should schedule them on the same days, that way we have someone to talk to. :P

That's a good idea. :)

Thanks much. I've been checking this thread every once in a while - it's interesting and amusing, but really long. I'm curious about this metal toxicity thing, so I'll be back, I'm sure. But this thread ... I wouldn't know where to begin.

Take care,

k

Start right here. No need to go back.

You just begin right here and ignore the fact that there are previous pages. :)

Yep.

Yeah, we don't go back (much) either... if we need to know something we ask again! There is a search feature that will only search this thread though.

So, just jump on in and ask a question about metal toxicity and you'll get all kinds of responses...just don't wait too many days to check the thread after that! Either that or make a note of the page your post ended up on and start reading from there. :P

Ditto. :)

tom Contributor

Hehe I quickly learned to re-bookmark the last page I read.:P

W/ non-broadband navigation on phone it totally sucked when 2 pgs were added and I had to wait . . . . wait . . . .oops no didn't see that - try next page back.

I re-bookmark multiple times a day now!! and if it's goin' fast'n'furious 3+ times in an hour even!!

Then I guess I won't have to worry about Lyme Disease or any other problems anymore. ;)

If I don't wake up in the night, then I have to be really extra dilligent about taking something every two hours ... sometimes I don't fit it all in, but I'm getting better about it.

Okay, trying an experiment:

Looked good in preview, but didn't work! Pshaw!

Can I play???

Bah! Failure! I'd have to look up some stuff now. :(

In prev life I could hand-code html tho!! :P

(Errrrrrr it's not straight html is it?)

Yep, have had many of those POSITIVE feelings too. :P Avocados tested bad in BioSET for me, but I have supposedly been treated for those, and I've not ever had symptoms I could directly link to the cados...though my reactions are so delayed sometimes, it's hard to tell. I will try one this weekend on a day when I'm not eating anything else weird ( ) and then not eat anything weird for a few days afterwards.

all 3s!! (Or not)Looked good in preview, but didn't work! Pshaw!

Sure you can play...but since my experiment didn't work you may be playing by yourself.

I was actually trying to post my spreadsheet in some sort of readable fashion...noticed that there is an option to switch between "standard" and "rich text" editors. So I was hoping the rich text editor would retain the columns, but no such luck. Or maybe it was that I just didn't have it figured out right.

I washed the nuts in water w/ GSE. For the almond butter I mixed it in with a couple spoonfuls of the butter. It was just an experiment....no scientificness behind it.

...

Theres some info about that on this mold site...

Thanks for the link Rachel.

I've decided, like Donna to try to forgo the almond butter for a bit. I'm thinking three days to start with  I don't want to go into panic mode.

There is just too much that resonates with me and mold. :( I clearly don't have as much as any issue as you do but I am thinking it is there.

I don't think I'd be able to either. :lol::ph34r:

Andrea, I actually bought a cabbage today, no juice in mind though.

One bit kept jumping out at me.

I'm gonna switch now. It'll be me and lil bro Pete. Not sure how old.

It is a lovely line and what a great photo. :)

I'll get my sweetie to help me post one with my little brothers.

Donna, I was able to open the spreadsheet and I see that my results aren't there, Andrea, do you have them? If not, I will find them in my papers, piles and piles of papers that I have put off dealing with for at least a year, maybe two.:o:lol:

Do you recall when we talked about avoiding paperwork, bills, etc.? It didn't help. :P:lol:

I think you only posted your IgG results (at least in the original post I found...not sure if you posted them at some other time...after looking back at about 300 pages, my eyes were :lol: )...so you have some info on that tab, but not on the IgM, and when you posted there were only POS not +++'s.

Hmm, I guess that one does roll its eyes ... I've always thought it just looked like a silly smile, like the cat who swallowed the canary.

Well, our bedroom is a finished attic of an old bungalow, so it's huge. The original attic floor boards were already finished when we bought the house. I pictured the bedroom, which is an L shape, to be eclectic/quirky. So, I have my little sofa that I got a couple weeks ago by the newly covered windows.

The windows have 2" slatted white wood blinds, then white linen curtains hanging from the ceiling in between (three windows). I have an iron/crystal chandelier hanging over a table that was my grandmothers, a fancy schmancy chair, my grandmothers' old French provincial bedroom set, then a Stickley bed. Nothing goes together, but it works. I mean, who would think of putting white French provincial end tables next to a Stickley bed? :P

All the pictures on the walls are things I picked up in antique stores ... except for some old photos of my grandmother and grandfather. One is a cheesecake shot of her that she sent to my grandfather when he was in the S. Pacific during WWII ... she wanted to be his pin-up girl.

My whole house is this eclectic ... the only unifying factor is that everything here is stuff I like.

Well, here's a relevant little tale.

I'd been sure soy was fine for me because of 3 previous tests of 3 days, 4 days and 6 days.

This time day 5 felt different enough that I knew I had to continue. It really wasn't until ~day 10 that I wrote good things in my food/symptom diary.

So, just thinking you two might want to try longer.

I got fooled on soy at *least* 3 times.

Well, in that case, I may have a rough time of it here in Rachelville. Rachelling and carlaing are apparently not my specialty.

I've rarely been accused of overdoing it and I have no discipline whatsoever. Don't get me wrong: it's not that I don't care...it's just that I'm really lazy. I don't expect that this should change any time soon. I've grown fond of my apathetic lifestyle. Indeed, I will tell tale of how motivated and commited I am, but don't let it fool you. It's all mirrors & smoke. Speaking of which, I have to get going. I have a full weekend of slacking off to get ready for - or not, maybe. Did I mention that I'm indecisive too? I don't really want to think about metal toxicity right now ... I'm way too lazy.

I'm gonna go to the party tomorrow.

Andrea....I know...I know...its a horrible decision....heinous even. I'll most likely regret it later on....but yeah...I think I wanna go.

Michelle is gone....she went on vacation too....starting today. I cant talk to her till her vacaction is over...which will be the same time mine ends. So yeah...I think she's worried I might get sick from "toxic person exposure" while shes gone.

In other news....I racheled the Spiceship last night.

I think I overdid things....first there was the coffee e.....immediately followed by a ride in the Ship. I couldnt sweat for nothing.....It happens when I'm too toxic.

Stupid almond butter!

Also the coffee e stirred things up...I felt more toxic....and then I wasnt able to sweat it out...so I decided to STAY inside the SpiceShip until something happened. BAD IDEA. :(

I felt like I was gonna have a repeat of the "tossing cookies" event this morning....I'm feeling alot better now. B)

Off to see Dr. S. now. :)

Anyone wanna guess at whether I'm gonna get to do the DMPS challenge test this time??

Rachel, I'm not going to get on you, I understand where you're coming from ... on all counts.

Go to the party (sorry, Andrea), have a good time, and DO NOT have toxic conversation. Anything past is past and doesn't need to be rehashed.

Oh, and don't eat toxic food, or drink toxic drinks, or smoke toxic cigarettes!!! ;)

In the future, if you're not sweating, I'd get out of the sauna so you don't overheat.

Rachel- Whatever you do, just be good to you!

Well, I'm such a bubble head. I moldened myself. I had an uncontrollable urge for peanut butter last night so I thought "Hey, i'll take some Vit C with it and see if that helps." NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahh..it's like I never learn. Gluten would NEVEr pass these lips but peanut butter...arggghhh.

Despite my moldening-ness, I had a pretty OK day.

Jin- This a.m. I could NOT get the phrase a*&scracker out of my head. Don't know why :P Kept waiting for a chance to use it but we were at a fancy schmancy horse show and no one there was acting like an a*&scracker. Snooty maybe but very polite :P

Hi everyone

Got diarrhea chachacha again today. Yeah moldeneden again. I don't know why this time. I give up on guessing but I know I will never gain weight like this. Stomach bubbles sounds, intestinal squishy sounds. Lots and lots of fun. :D

I'm at the library today. Computer got taken away for crumbs being on it by my brother. I don't eat anything with crumbs so they know it's not my fault. 30 min. only use sooo yeah.

Excited about this new doctor on Monday. Can't wait. Won't be able to sleep. Maybe she can help with weight and stuff. She is a Naturopath who also does chiropractic and nutrition. So she can maybe help me gain weight.

She was mercury toxic herself as well for some of you who don't know. So she's been where I have been. Maybe not as bad but still been their.

Time expiring

Tom I don't know how to put picture on avatar. Please help.! I would like to be something else than a computer portrait.

Oh and Rachel and Donna, don't Rachel the gluthothione IV's o.k. :P

Sometimes Rachel I wonder if I get that molden reaction from the warm water enymas I do. I did one last night. <_<

tom Contributor

Rachel! Go to the Party! (And I ditto what Carla said - don't do that, that, this & again that! )

No sweat comin' huh? :( try livin here. I was sweating from going to the mailbox!

(107 in the shade but there aint no shade - except I suppose over those official thermometers)

Yay!! :)

Tom I don't know how to put picture on avatar. Please help.! I would like to be something else than a computer portrait.

It's a breeze once you're not banished to the library, unless u want a Dewey Decimal system chart for an avatar.

Up top a choice is MyControls

Once you're there u want "Edit Avatar Settings".

Somewhere is a button to UploadAvatar.

Then it's just *finding* the pic u want on your pc. :D

Often I just find what I want 1st, cuz if u need to search by name u can do it b4 being in the ChangeAvatar page just blindly looking in every folder that *might* have it.

I was having a great day until what should've been no more than a minor annoyance bugged me too much.

Mom *knows* I'm out of minutes. When she was doing online HPscanner tech support, she was emailing me the Qs instead of being on ph.

And w/ visitors in town, we've been emailing and txt'g about schedule.

But suddenly she calls, and has me saying "hello . . . . . Hello? HELLO!" for 30sec b4 making a sound! So I'm not happy about having an over-minutes call start like this, but expecting something important or worse as the . . . oh crap . . (This story is only about my mom) as the reason for the call. But no. She had hit a wrong button and now the tv doesn't work.

The 30sec of speculating at the silence then that.

But the mail brought a near-Monopoly experience. "Elec Co made an error in your favor"!. Not really, but bill said $0.00 and THEY owe ME! (Finally decided I'm not one req'g a deposit)

So, yay! But immed after, in my kitchen, I get a sliver of glass in my foot!!!

I cleaned that 2wks ago and haven't had any indicator I didn't get it all!!

Back n forth, back n forth.

DingoGirl Enthusiast

oh me oh my so much going on......

but first.......THIS is the most important thing - -

CARLA HAS A STICKLEY BED????????????????? :o do you mean and OLD Stickley, or one of the newer ones, made by the heirs??? Um, cause halloooo, Stickley is pretty much my thing........I LONG for some gen-yoo-ine Stickley furniture (I have some older reproductions that look great but not the same).....your room sounds lurvely!! :)

So yeah...I think she's worried I might get sick from "toxic person exposure" while shes gone.

 oh my lord - - - - PLEASE mind the TOXIC PERSON EXPOSURE!!!! can be very lethal and powerful and even WORSE than a moldeneding, a glutening, an auxigro exposure, and ten tick bites.

And Rachel - - very strange that you don't sweat in the Guadalupe..... :o I don't know how this is possible - - - I am a huge sweat-er and don't even see how this is possible....are you SURE you are not an alien?

:lol: aghh.....I had a friend over the other day, and we had a bit of champagne and guava juice (my, I DO mention the cocktails on here frequently, don't I????:lol: ) and I felt they both tasted like crap - both the champagne (really cheap) AND this new kind of guava....and so I WAS able to use the word a**cracker in an email to her - -- "so sorry you had to drink that a**cracker champagne......" and she of course used it in a sentence back to me.... delights me.....

that's all!!!! gotta go!!!!

I hope you get the DMPS challenge Rachel but I think they still might say no. I want to compare toxicity levels of mine and yours but I think I will win with more mercury than you.

Gosh I feel awful today. I am so thin you can fold me like a piece of paper. I can't believe I'm still HERE!

Hi @Scatterbrain Thank you for your reply.   Some of these things could be weaknesses, also triggered by stress, which perhaps have come about as the result of long-term deficiencies which can take a long time to correct.   Some could be completely unrelated. If it is of help, I'll tell you some of the things that started in the first year or two, following my diagnosis - I pinned everything on coeliac disease, but it turns out I wasn't always right!  Dizziness, lightheaded - I was eventually diagnosed with cervical dizziness (worth googling, could be your issue too, also if you have neck pain?)  A few months after diagnosis I put my neck out slightly carrying my seven-year-old above my head, and never assigned any relevance to it as the pain at the time was severe but so short-lived that I'd forgotten the connection. Jaw pain - stress. Tinnitus - I think stress, but perhaps exacerbated by iron/vitamin deficiencies. Painful ribs and sacroiliac joints - no idea, bloating made the pain worse. It got really bad but then got better. Irregular heart rate - could be a coincidence but my sister (not a coeliac) and I both developed this temporarily after our second Astra Zeneca covid jabs.   Subsequent Pfizer jabs didn't affect us. Brain fog - a big thing for people with certain autoimmune issues but in my case I think possibly worse when my iron or B12 are low, but I have no proof of this. Insomnia - stress, menopause. So basically, it isn't always gluten.  It might be worth having your vitamins and mineral levels checked, and if you have deficiencies speak to your Dr about how better to address them?

@NanceK, I do have Hypersensitivity Type Four reaction to Sulfa drugs, a sulfa allergy.  Benfotiamine and other forms of Thiamine do not bother me at all.  There's sulfur in all kinds of Thiamine, yet our bodies must have it as an essential nutrient to make life sustaining enzymes.  The sulfur in thiamine is in a ring which does not trigger sulfa allergy like sulfites in a chain found in pharmaceuticals.  Doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition (nor chemistry in this case).  I studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I wanted to know what vitamins were doing inside the body.   Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Not feeling well after starting Benfotiamine is normal.  It's called the "thiamine paradox" and is equivalent to an engine backfiring if it's not been cranked up for a while.  Mine went away in about three days.  I took a B Complex, magnesium and added molybdenum for a few weeks. It's important to add a B Complex with all eight essential B vitamins. Supplementing just one B vitamin can cause lows in some of the others and result in feeling worse, too.  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of all the B vitamins, not just thiamine.  You need all eight.  Thiamine forms including Benfotiamine interact with each of the other B vitamins in some way.  It's important to add a magnesium glycinate or chelate supplement as well.  Forms of Thiamine including Benfotiamine need magnesium to make those life sustaining enzymes.  (Don't use magnesium oxide.  It's not absorbed well.  It pulls water into the intestines and is used to relieve constipation.)   Molybdenum is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize forms of Thiamine.   Molybdenum supplements are available over the counter.  It's not unusual to be low in molybdenum if low in thiamine.   I do hope you will add the necessary supplements and try Benfotiamine again. Science-y Explanation of Thiamine Paradox: https://hormonesmatter.com/paradoxical-reactions-with-ttfd-the-glutathione-connection/#google_vignette

Your goal is not to be a good puppet, there is no gain in that. You might want to restart the ones that helped.  It sounds more like you are suffering from malnutrition.  Gluten free foods are not fortified with things like Thiamine (B1), vitamin D, Iodine, B1,2,3,5,6 and 12 as non-gluten free products are required to be. There is a Catch-22 here.  Malnutrition can cause SIBO, and SIBO can worsen malnutrition. Another possibility is side effects from any medication that are taking.  I was on Metformin 3 months before it turned me into a zombi.  I had crippling side effects from most of the BP meds tried on me, and Losartan has many of the side effects on me from my pre gluten free days. Because you have been gluten free, you can test and talk until you are blue in the face but all of your tests will be negative.  Without gluten, you will not create the antigen against gluten, no antigens to gluten, so no small intestine damage from the antigens.  You will need to do a gluten challange to test positive if you need an official diagnosis, and even then, no guaranty: 10 g of gluten per day for 6 weeks! Then a full panel of Celiac tests and biopsy. At a minimum consider vitamin D, Liquid Iodine (unless you have dermatitis herpetiformis and iodine exasperates the rash), and Liquid Geritol. Push for vitamin D testing and a consult with a nutritionist experienced with Celiack Disease.  Most blood tests don't indicate nutritional deficiencies.  Your thyroid tests can be perfect, yet not indicate iodine deficiency for example.  Thiamine   test fine, but not pick up on beriberi.  Vegans are often B12 deficient because meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy are the primary souces of B12. Here is what I take daily.  10,000 IU vitamin D3 750 mg g a b a [   ] 200 mg CoQ10 [   ] 100 mg DHEA [   ] 250 mg thiamine B1 [   ] 100 mg of B2 [   ] 500 mg B5 pantothenic acid [   ] 100 mg B6 [   ] 1000 micrograms B12 n [   ] 500 mg vitamin c [   ] 500 mg taurine [   ] 200 mg selenium

Hi…Just a note that if you have an allergy to sulfa it’s best not to take Benfotiamine. I bought a bottle and tried one without looking into it first and didn’t feel well.  I checked with my pharmacist and he said not to take it with a known sulfa allergy. I was really bummed because I thought it would help my energy level, but I was thankful I was given this info before taking more of it.

Hello @Scatterbrain, Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals.  Gluten free food is not fortified so you may be starting to run low on B vitamins and vitamin D.   By the way you should get your mom checked for celiac disease.  You got it from your mom or dad.  Some studies show that following a gluten-free diet can stabilize or improve symptoms of dementia.  I know that for the 63 years I was eating gluten I got dumber and dumber until I started GFD and vitamin replenishment and it began to reverse.  Thiamine can get used up in a week or two.  Symptoms can come and go with daily diet.  Symptoms of beriberi due to Thiamine deficiency.   Difficulty walking. Loss of feeling (sensation) in hands and feet. Loss of muscle function or paralysis of the lower legs. Mental confusion. Pain. Speech difficulties. Strange eye movements (nystagmus) Tingling. Any change in medications? Last March I had corotid artery surgery (90 % blockage), and I started taking Losartan for blood pressure, added to the Clonidine I was taking already.  I was not recovering well and many of my pre gluten free symptoms were back  I was getting worse.  At first I thought it was caused a reaction to the anesthesia from the surgery, but that should have improved after two weeks.  Doctor thought I was just being a wimp. After three months I talked to my doctor about a break from the Losartan to see if it was causing it. It had not made any difference in my bp.  Except for clonindine, all of the previous bp meds tried had not worked to lower bp and had crippling side effects. One, I could not stand up straight; one wobbly knees, another spayed feet.  Inguinal hernia from the Lisinopril cough.  Had I contiued on those, I was destined for a wheelchair or walker. She said the symptoms were not from Losartan so I continued taking it.  Two weeks later I did not have the strength in hips and thighs to get up from sitting on the floor (Help, I can't get up😨).  I stopped AMA (not recommended).  Without the Losartan, a) bp did not change, after the 72 hour withdrawal from Losartanon, on clonidine only and b) symptoms started going away.  Improvement started in 72 hours.  After six weeks they were gone and I am getting better.
