Thanks Birdy, that was interesting...I know that all my levels were off, I think copper was one of them, but can't remember if it was high or low...I think they had me supplementing it for a while, so I'm thinking low.

I found this interesting (from your second link) because of my adrenal problem:

Adrenal insufficiency: The Major Cause of Copper Toxicity

Although there are numerous reasons for the prevalence of copper toxicity, the most important cause is adrenal gland insufficiency. Individuals with adrenal insufficiency are unable to utilize copper properly. The reason for this is that copper can only be utilized in the body if it is attached to a protein substance for transport and storage.

The major protein that copper is attached to is called ceruloplasmin. Ceruloplasmin is a protein which binds copper so that it can be utilized in biochemical reactions.

When the adrenal glands are underactive, they are unable to send out a message to the liver to release ceruloplasmin from the liver and, therefore, copper becomes biounavailable.

As a result of excessive tissue storage of biounavailable or unbound copper, a deficiency of available copper occurs, even when dietary intake of copper is more than adequate. The result may be a craving for foods high in copper, such as chocolate, avocados, etc. The other result is multiple bodily dysfunctions as a direct or indirect result of copper imbalance.

Ok. Now I know why I have been having all these wierd symptoms. I just started my period! I get really wierd symptoms around that time. Doesn't make sense to me at all!

CarlaB Enthusiast
I started out doing coffee enemas but was told by my practitioners that my state of health, and liver, was not to the point where I could handle them, and they would cause me more harm than good.
Why was this? Is it because it pulls out too many toxins?

(if I don't have lyme... which I'm actually beginning to suspect less and less)

Didn't you have a positive WB?

Carla,

I am wondering, the lady I talked about a while ago who tested positive for Lyme years ago, her periods are really bad. Well, around the time of the time of the month, she gets bad "meningitis flares"...isn't that also suggestive of Lyme?

Julie,

I wonder what my LLMD will say about the ecoffee. I have a REALLY sensitive system, so I wonder.

CarlaB Enthusiast

My LLMD says it's normal to flare during your periods.

Paula, I left chat when that guy showed up.

I assume so. I was under the care of a Naturopath at the time, and the main modality they used was bioenergetics (bioscan, bioset, vibratory/energy medicine).

My body DID NOT want to detox, my system was very touchy, so they had to proceed slowly with treatment and only what my body was ready for.

Birdy, great links on the Copper. Wilson's disease is something that was suspected for me a long time ago. i had a lot of symptoms and signs of heavy copper levels, especially copper flecks in my eyes.

Paula, I left chat when that guy showed up.

I kicked the freak out

Sounds wonderful guys :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Paula, I pm'd you the practiitoners name.

I would like the chat link also, whenever you can pm it to me :)

Well, you can PM me the link, but I'm not sure how often I can visit. They have blocked chat rooms here at work (I've tried, lol) and at home I don't spend a LOT of time on the computer anymore, but may make an exception, lol.

I used to get HORRIBLE symptoms around my period. Awful! I absolutely HATED my period. Did I shout enough for ya'all, lol.

April,

Our menstrual cycles are a built in body detox for us women, during flow the body is doing a cleansing of sort so I think it's pretty typical to have a flare up of symptoms at that time.

dlp252 Apprentice

Ooh goody, my new neurotransmitter supplements just came. CalmPRT sounds like something I need, lol.

confusedks Enthusiast

LOL! A freak! That's funny!

Donna,

When I actually *do* get my periods, I am bed-ridden and don't want to eat, drink, talk or anything. I hate them too! Ugh, and the cramps. Makes me glad I haven't had one since August. :P

Everyone,

So I think this silly thread is why I never can get any hwk done! LOL! I seemingly think "uh oh, what if I missed a post":lol::lol:

I signed up for the chat too, but I still haven't gotten the email. I may sign up under a different email, because hotmail never gets those emails. Hmm

Carla do u think they would mind us using it until i can figure something out, i went over there now.

paula

kassandra,

it goes to your junk email

I looked there...not there. What is the subject?

Carla,

No, I don't have a positive WB. The results from labcorp aren't back yet (and even so I wouldn't trust that lab's negative). I'm feeling amazing now (I think it's the weather and chelation) but I still have some lyme-typical symptoms such as stiff shoulders.

Paula,

I'd also like the link for the chat. :)

AndreaB Contributor

Me too Paula.....although I don't know how much I'd be over there.

What about group messaging. I just signed up for yahoo messaging.

I'm like that too. Then I don't always get the post notifications.

dlp252 Apprentice

The only time I can possibly miss a post is when I'm sleeping, lol. I hit "new posts" every few minutes while I'm at work. :P

If most of us weren't Lymies I wouldn't have suggested it .... I figured it was relevant .... Most of us are on LN anyway, though it's not affiliated with LN.

confusedks Enthusiast

Yea, Carla...I don't know how I am EVER going to get anything done! Who wants to learn about Socrates anyway?! LOL!

Andrea and Donna,

I know...Celiac.com has taken over my life! When I went to school, I got a new phone so I could check the posts! LOL! I'd get caught in class looking on here!:D:lol:

Welcome to the forum, @Mmoc! Please include the reference ranges for the IGA and the TTG tests in your next post if you have access to them. We cannot comment much otherwise as different labs use different reference ranges for these tests and also different units of measurement. There are no universal standards as of yet so the raw test numbers are not always helpful. Having said that, if your IGA (what we usually call "total IGA") is low, the TTG-IGA score will be skewed and cannot be trusted. Other kinds of tests for celiac disease would need to be run, particularly those in the IGG family of tests. Perhaps this will be helpful:

Hi there any advice welcomed. I have had 4 years of symptoms ranging from immune related anaphylactic symptom sudden onset food allergy to peppers/paprika/chilli/capsicum family derivatives. all these allergies fizzled out and following a food challenge test in hospital I reintroduced them a few months ago. Since then my digestive system is a mess. i have since noticed that 4 years ago when testing for iga allergies my iga level was .62 and my ttg was less than .1 (due to symptoms I was probably eating very plainly at that time). should I insist on being retested for celiac? I’ve since read two indicators for celiac include: sensitive to spicy foods when in flare up tooth enamel weakness and symmetrical discolouration patches on teeth which I have had since childhood on my two front teeth     thanks

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
