Hi all! Just got back from Mother/daughter weekend in the mountains. My daughter and I and a couple of friends and their daughters all went. We had a good time.

OMGosh Rachel, those quotes you reposted are hilarious!!!! We were mad back then  Of course that was before we got in trouble for not staying on topic, we've had to be on our best behavior

You can actually get in trouble for that???:rolleyes:

Rachel,

I think your ideas on calcium/oxalates sound good. You'll just have to test the theory out once you find a good calcium supplement.

Paula,

Its so nice that you star gaze with the kids! :)

I haven't gotten my zeolite and I am pretty sure we ordered it on the same day. Hopefully, it will come soon.

I am ready to try it!

Paula,

I might be interested in not just anyone could join in. Aren't chat rooms open to everyone?

April,

Glad you were able to have a mother/daughter weekend. Sounds like fun!

Hi everyone, just caught up reading. Nice to see you back, Carla and April.

I've finished 2 day of the SCD, feeling a bit better today than yesterday. I think I'm having some die-off symptoms that are uncomfortable but not horrible. Could also be the Vitamin D increase since that has caused some symptoms recently. Maybe my immune system is continuing to activate with the D.

Carla that pain sounds bad. But I am glad there are such positive signs.

I sure don't have that strong of response to Zith even though it has helped a lot. Since I can't take it with Enula, I am going to have Dr. E test it Enula with Nutricidal (contains artemesia) that tested ok last winter. Then I'll be on a full herbal protocol. Hope that's the right way to go.

Well musta been my fault the board went down .... I was writing a post here, hit add reply, and the board went down.

Now I see most of the posts I was responding to were lost. <_<

I'm in the three days of hitting it hard .... my script of Vicodin hasn't arrived in the mail  ... my doctor didn't call it in yesterday when I told them I hadn't received it yet  .... and this Advil isn't cutting it.

Starting tomorrow, four days to detox. :)

AndreaB Contributor

Carla,

Some posts were lost. Sorry about the pain you're going through right now. The 4 days detox.....is that 4 days off the meds with your pain level hopefully decreasing during that time?

Got a call from Donna last night. It was nice talking to her and having a voice to go with the name. :) She came through her surgery just fine and is feeling pretty good.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Thanks Andrea. Just four days off Zithromax. It's the one causing this pain.

Wow, I haven't posted in waaaaay too long.

I just met with the Dr to discuss my chelation results, everything was within reference range (Mercury just barely), but all of my minerals were waaaaaaay low. So he wants me to work on supplementing them and then get another blood test for lyme toxins. And to a Sulfa LED. Then redo the challenge. And get an allergy shot.

I'm still following along, reading every post. :)

Sounds like a lot is going on Birdy. Thanks for the update. :)

How's the eczema doing lately.

Some posts were lost.

Yeah...I recall reading some posts that are no longer here. Just read Scotts message...so looks like 12 hours of posts were lost. Not bad considering what could have happened!

I remember when the braintalk forum lost *everything*.....and that board was down for months I believe.

It would be very sad if something like that were to happen here. :(

Thanks Andrea--I was wondering how she did yesterday. :)

April, have you started the zeolite yet? I think my last posts about it got lost.

Well, I've moved up my plans to start SCD. While trying to use up my carbohydrate stuff, potatos, ice cream, yam, cookies, I am feeling much worse again and nausea as well. Maybe my LLMD is right, this is the missing piece.

So my chicken soup is simmering and my yogurt is culturing...

Sherry

OMG - you sound like me. I make a weekly batch of chicken soup and homemade yogurt! I had a baked potato last night (for the first time in almost a year) and I had every symptom from head to toe.

I have heard amazing things about the specific carbohydrate diet...but each of the foods you mentioned are problematic for other reasons than the carbs as you know...nightshades, sugar and dairy, high oxalates, eggs possibly in the cookies. If I eat dairy I am sure to be nauseated, high oxalates (yam) totally affect my head pain and head fullness, nightshades affect pain, so the list goes on and on.

Thanks for the kind words by the way.

Fatty acid malabsorption - the calcium will bind to the fatty acid so less is available to bind to the oxalate.

If this is a cause for oxalates in urine or leaky gut leaking the oxalates, but what causes fatty acid malabsorption?

Nancy

What was up with the board??? I read a bunch of posts then went to reply yesterday and boom!

April, have you started the zeolite yet? I think my last posts about it got lost.

Nope - haven't received it yet. It should be here anyday now.

You also asked me about how much cilantro I had eaten (before the board went down)...I ate cilantro straight for 5 days. It was fresh and I would mix it fresh in my food. Maybe....6-10 leaves per day??? Maybe more.

THEN on about day 5 I decided to do a castor oil pack. First night I was fine and was fine the next day. Had more energy. Then did another castor oil pack that night and the next day I had crazy symptoms.

I think I did too much at once. Then, as usual, I got C which is so what I didn't need  . I think everything sort of built on eachother and then I overflowed. I do believe that the cilantro and castor oil pack released too many toxins and they deposited in my liver.

My neck hurt real bad and it felt heavy....my head felt heavy....my legs were weak. I was VERY tired and moody. I had No energy. I had wierd breathing going on and sometimes at night I prayed that I would wake up :(

After a few days of dealing with that.....I started having tightness/pain in my neck area which I self diagnosed as a thyroid problem. I had not ever had that before. I could hardly get out of bed. I think I was right because once I started supplementing with iodine it went away and I felt better.

I think the metals I release displaced iodine in my thyroid gland.

I didn't know about epsom baths and activated charcoal back then. Or even Coffee E's. I started posting on YC because I was so freaked out and Moldlady told me about the AC and ES baths. Those two things really pulled me out of the worst part. I took up to 2-3 Epsom Salt baths a day and took AC 3 times per day and slowly got better that way.

It was crazy and I am glad its over. I do eat cilantro now in homemade salsa but I watch how much I eat.

I have HMD which is a cilantro/chlorella detox tincture. The kids have done great on it.

From that experience, I won't do cilantro detox without the chlorella to go along with it.

I have a friend whose children have all been diagnosed recently with very wierd diseases.

2 with cystic fibrosis and 1 now with epilepsy. The 4th child has add and mental instability - mood swings.

Can anyone help figure out what the common denominator is?

Could there be some kind of underlying condition for all of this?

I haven't read a lot about these type diseases in my research.

Rachel--24 Collaborator
If this is a cause for oxalates in urine or leaky gut leaking the oxalates, but what causes fatty acid malabsorption?

There is no one single answer to this. Just as many things can cause leaky gut...those same types of issues also lead to malabsorption.

Toxicity from heavy metals can cause disturbed fatty acid metabolism.

For those of us who have these chronic problems toxicity is a major factor.....and it leads to all of these other issues....including the gut infections, the food intolerances, the leaky gut, the malabsorption, the impaired detoxification, etc.

Symptoms of toxic build-up due to chronic heavy metal exposure are much more subtle, in large part because these symptoms are so

I had another FUN Tuesday! :( We decided to go ahead and try the Iron IV again because the risk of NOT doing them is heart failure. So, we decided to try it and see what happened. The only way they'd do it would be to give me steroids and IV benadryl before the Infusion to try and stop any reaction.

So long story short, I ended up in the ER again. :( Now I really don't know what to do, because Dr H is going to KILL me for getting the steroids. But then the hematologist keeps telling me I have to get the iron. He won't do it again given my reaction now. It is true anaphylaxis. Ughhhhhhh!

I'm really frustrated. I don't have any idea what to do now.

AndreaB Contributor

Kassandra,

I'm sorry. :( I don't know what to suggest either. I hope it can be figured out real soon though. :(

mftnchn Explorer

Kassandra, I am so sorry to hear this. And major bummer about the steriods. Do your doctors talk to each other?

Sherry

mftnchn Explorer

Too bad about the lost posts...glad it wasn't more.

I've had an interesting time on the SCD, fatigue and backache, plus unusual bathroom experiences. Pretty sure yesterday it was a bunch of worms...nasty. Glad it is out of my body, that's for sure. I guess it isn't unusual to have a die off response, so I'll stick this out and see what happens.

I got to see Andrea today, yay! ! Stopped by her house on my way north.

Sherry

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Kassandra,

Sorry you had to go through another ER experience. :(

It seems like your system is just really overwhelmed with everything. What does Dr. H. say about the iron situation?

Rachel--24 Collaborator

This is totally OT.....but I just couldnt resist. :)

You guys gotta see this....(you might wanna grab a tissue :P )

Andrea....I *know* you're gonna love this one. :)

I've got that bookmarked to watch later. :)

Sherry,

It was so good to see you today. Hoping you'll get another opportunity to stop by sometime(s) before you head back over the pond.

I was in tears too, how incredible is that!

Thanks Rachel. :)

I just stopped by for a minute, I started taking the zeolites yesterday.

Also I am starting back on Iodine, using Lugol's for painting the soles of my feet and thinking I will start taking Iodoral, spelling? Has there been much discussion of Iodine, I can't remember but I picked up a book on it recently and am thinking it would be good to take.

The book confirmed for me that the iodine they give when they do tests stresses the body and contributes to ill health. I am convinced that when we start to fall towards illness the tests they do push us along that path. I am still angry that I let them do the CT scan even without my taking the iodine it was the equivalent of a hundred chest x-rays and left me in more pain for months.

Must get ready for work, have a great day and if a great day is not possible have a grateful day, after all we are here.

Everyone,

Today i had an idea. I was thinking of making a little msn group with the bunch of us this thread, That we could chat about stuff and feel less stressed about posting on here were everyone in the world can read it. We can still talk on here about medical stuff, but when we want to get goofy, we can post it someplace else. I could even work on have an chat room in there. I know carla had trouble last time, but maybe we could figure it out this time lol. We could also talk about swapping supps.

paula

i really hoping asking this isnt breaking any rules. Just let me know if anyone is interested.

sounds awesome!!

Sherry can you send the link again to that french website?? i'm super sorry it has taken this long.. i can't find the message i sent my friend to remind her.. and now she's worried about hurricaine dolly so.. but we haven't forgotten!!

Welcome @JoJo0611. That is a valid question.  Unfortunately the short answer is slim to none.  Be proactive, when the diagnosis process is completed, start GFD.  Remember also that the western diet is deficient in many nutrients that governments require fortification.  Read the side of a breakfast cereal box. Anti-tTG antibodies has superseded older serological tests It has a strong sensitivity (99%) and specificity (>90%) for identifying celiac disease. A list of symptoms linked to Celiac is below.  No one seems to be tracking it, but I suspect that those with elevated ttg, but not diagnosed with Celiac Disease, are diagnosed with celiac disease many years later or just die, misdiagnosed.  Wheat has a very significant role in our economy and society.  And it is addictive.  Anti-tTG antibodies can be elevated without gluten intake in cases of other autoimmune diseases, certain infections, and inflammatory conditions like inflammatory bowel disease. Transient increases have been observed during infections such as Epstein-Barr virus. Some autoimmune disorders including hepatitis and biliary cirrhosis, gall bladder disease. Then, at 65 they are told you have Ciliac Disease. Milk protein has been connected to elevated levels.   Except for Ireland and New Zealand where almost all dairy cows are grass fed, commercial diaries feed cows TMR Total Mixed Rations which include hay, silage, grains and concentrate, protein supplements, vitamins and minerals, byproducts and feed additives. Up to 80% of their diet is food that cannot be eaten by humans. Byproducts of cotton seeds, citrus pulp, brewer’s grains (wheat and barley, rye, malt, candy waste, bakery waste. The wheat, barley and rye become molecules in the milk protein and can trigger tTg Iga in persons suseptible to Celiac. I can drink Grass fed milk, it tastes better, like the milk the milkman delivered in the 50's.  If I drink commercial or Organic milk at bedtime I wake with indigestion.

Can you please share your research about MMA acrylic containing gluten?   I comin up blank about it containing gluten.  Thanks in Advance,  Tom

I strongly recommend 2 dedicated gluten free (gluten-free) restaurants in my area (East Bay of San Francisco Bay Area) (2025) -- Life is Sweet Bakery and Café in Danville. I've been a few times with friends and tried multiple entrees and salads. All very good and worth having again. I've also tried a number of their bakery goods. All extremely good (not just "good for gluten-free"). https://lifeissweetbakeryandcafe.com/ -- Kitara Kitchen in Albany (they have additional locations). I've been once and had the "Buritto Bowl". Six individual items plus a sauce. Outstanding. Not just "for gluten-free", but outstanding in its own right. Vibrant flavors, great textures. I can't wait to go back. https://www.kitava.com/location/kitava-albany/

I'm 67 and have been celiac for 17yrs. I had cataract surgery and they put a gluten lens in my eye. Through a lot of research, I found out about MMA acrylic...it contains gluten. It took 6 months for me to find a DR that would remove it and replace it with a gluten-free lens . I have lost some vision in that eye because of it . I also go to a prosthodontist instead of a regular dentist because they are specialized. He has made me a night guard and a few retainers with no issues... where my regular dentist didn't care. I have really bad reactions to gluten and I'm extremely sensitive, even to CC. I have done so much research on gluten-free issues because of these Drs that just don't care. Gluten is in almost everything shampoo, lotion, food, spices, acrylic, medication even communion wafers! All of my Drs know and believe me I remind them often.... welcome to my world!

If this applies geographically, in the U.K., physicians will often declare a diagnosis of celiac disease based on the TTG-IGA antibody blood test alone if the score is 10x normal or greater, which your score is. There is very little chance the endoscopy/biopsy will contradict the antibody blood test.
