Dear Susie,

Do not feel bad about releasing all of this hurt. That is what we are here for! We understand how you feel. Things like this come upon us, and we do not understand why. Why must life be so difficult? HUGS!

I am like Carla, I believe Lyme is a problem, too. It is so common to have memory issues, emotional distress, and all kinds of other things with it. I too, have had OCD behaviors since I was young. My grandmother is very OCD. I have broken myself of some of it, but not as much as I would like. There are many things I still obsess over. I like things to be neater, but my parents never keep anything where it is supposed to go.

The job issue is something I think a lot of people stress over. They feel inadequate, and out of place. I felt that way at Taco Bell when I worked there as a teenager. I felt that way at school. I felt that way in my own family. I do not, however, feel that way here. I have found my family here, in Rachelville! If you want, I could do a spell to help you find a good job. If you need be to, just ask! ;)

It appears God has given his answer! Maybe that is what you were meant to do! Perhaps you should paint for a living!

I know how it is to be creatively supressed. It is miserable. That could be some of your trouble, too.

Dear Carla,

Many of the symptoms you have mentioned are so familiar. I have been dealing with some of those things like forgetting what day it is, and it scares me to death! I think, OMG! I have Alzheimer's, and I am 24! It really freaks you out!

Dear Andrea,

You are so sweet! I wish I had money so I could pay for your treatments, too! My parents seem to finally be taking this more seriously. The Western Blots are my source of worry, because I am concerned my doctor does not know about the ILADS protocol. I am concerned she will not take this seriously. I cannot afford to go to New York.

Dear Rachel,

I hope your appointment works out! We are all keeping our fingers crossed for you! Maybe they can fit you in! If they have a cancellation, that would be awesome! Keep us posted!

Sincerely,

Jin

P.S. I guess it will just be me, Bev, and Susie chasing tornadoes! We will have so much fun! We will just have to take pics for everyone else!

Rachel - good for you, going to bed, three pages behind! so you are not rachelling Rachelville! :)

Jin - you are the funniest! Yes, it's been an emotional time....really the whole last four years. ugh. But good times ahead, when we chase tornados. :) Your family - - must be hard to be OCD in that environment!

AS far as just painting and not working - - now that would result in madness and lunacy for me. Been there, done that. Supported myself as an artist for a few years - - lots of really imaginative children's furniture and wall treatments and paintings and trompe l'oeil and other things. I really need human interaction adn contact - - LOVE working with people. A c combination of the two is great for me.

Well, I'm goign to research Lyme brain again - - but from what I read of Amy Tan's story - - my case is nothing like hers.

off to bed.

hugs and love to all - - thanks for the support. I feel like I"ve hogged the last couple of days - - egads - and do not want to hear myself talk any more or read my angst on the cyber page.

Dear Susie,

Yep, that is what I am here for! To cheer you up with my goofiness! :P Ahhhh...tornado chasing! Behold the beauty!

Mother Nature's ultimate wrath, and incredible beauty! You are right, my family drives me nuts! Why is it so hard for people to put a freakin' fork with the other forks?! The big spoons go with the big spoons, the little spoons go with the little spoons! It is not that hard people!:lol:

I think I might be brave and get some artwork into Marvel Comics. The worst that could happen is I get rejected, you know? I may never hear from them. If I do not even submit, I will never know. They are very particular, but I figure it is worth a try! I would love to move to the Big Apple! Saks 5th Avenue, Soho District, my buddy Angela, the LLMD! There are so many great things there!

I love being with people, too. Since I have been ill, I rarely get out. I miss people who are not my parents. I need my quiet time as well, but I am very sociable. I feel so isolated from the world at times. I am always on the inside looking out.

I think you will find Lyme matches your symptoms. It can be very evasive. You can find people with your symptoms, I am sure. Some people have only mental symptoms, while others have mostly physical symptoms. It really is impossible to not become anxious and depressed with severe physical symptoms, like the nausea, body pain, fatigue, and everything else.

Sincerely,

Jin

Yup...I've been saying this for about a year now...her words just capture the reader. Rinne you would do quite well as a writer I'm sure. ;)

I agree. :)

Yep, this place is great! :D

My parents seem to finally be taking this more seriously. The Western Blots are my source of worry, because I am concerned my doctor does not know about the ILADS protocol. I am concerned she will not take this seriously. I cannot afford to go to New York.

Glad they seem to be taking things more seriously. Hopefully this trend will continue. ;)

I love looking at storm pictures.......don't have any desire to be near one though.

Rachel - good for you, going to bed, three pages behind! so you are not rachelling Rachelville! :)

Yes, good for you. Your body will be much happier with more rest. :D

I really need human interaction adn contact - - LOVE working with people. A c combination of the two is great for me.

So we've got to pray for a part time or very part time job so you can be with people and still be creative. How 'bout that one place that's slow right now.....maybe something will open up there in the near future. :)

Dear Andrea,

The worst that will happen with Marvel is I do not hear from them. It would be a dream come true to work for them!

It is such an amazing place! Stan Lee has created an outstanding empire! You can always tell Marvel from other comics! They have a very distinct style!

Rachelville is the best place to live! There is no doubt about it! The yurts are here! Good people are here! Everyone from the Chefs to the Granola Girl are cool! Oh yeah, and let's not forget Andrea's Island! It is our paradise locale! ;)

I hope my parents continue to see it, too! Dad is a know-it-all anyway, despite doing absolutely no research.:rolleyes: My mother is finally opening to new possibilities. At least, that is how it is for the moment. Hopefully, my doctor will know someone locally who knows about Western Blots and Lyme.

Storm pics are amazing! They used to sell tornado calendars on The Weather Channel. I do not know if they still sell them. I might go poke around and see. I suppose when you are used to being around the storms, it is not so scary for you! I guess you had to grow up in Tornado Alley. We almost had a funnel cloud touchdown on the house a few times! That did make a bit nervous!

Sincerely,

Jin

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL!!!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LAURA!!!!!

Well, I'm at a loss...I'm beginning to think my job is what is causing the D! It's back with a vengence today and the horrible stomach cramping/pain is back too. Made 5 trips this morning after getting here...I think I'm done with that part, but the stomach ache is still there a little. At least I slept a tiny bit better last night, but still not nearly enough to feel great. :(

Still not sure this isn't some kind of detox, but why is it worse now...I'm still adding new supplements every 4th day, but it doesn't seem tied to that. I was fine over the weekend and yesterday. The last time I added something was Monday...that was magnesium. I was even fine this morning until I got to work. And, I mean as soon as I hit the elevator!

Did you get to paint your toes?

Decided not to...decided to be a slug all day. May do it today if I feel up to it...I have prolotherapy today, so may not have use of my arms.

I get Lyme brain, too. Sometimes I'm totally irrational ... mostly that's during a herx. I'll agree to go to the gym to work out, I'll get there and if no one is working out with me, I'll do two exercises, then leave. Adam's learned he has to go with me on those days. I just can't think. He'll come home from work and it won't even register that we need to eat dinner ... there will be no food and I've not started cooking. This isn't so bad when I'm not flaring/herxing.

When my Lyme is flaring I can't count the three sets of each exercise. I used to NEVER be able to count them, but at some point, on a good day, I could. I can't count to three!

I can't keep track of a conversation. I can't remember names ... sometimes of people I've known for years. I can't remember what simple objects are called. The kids know I never know what day of the week it is and that if they have to be somewhere they'll have to tell me. One of them will leave me a note on the counter when I need to pick her up from school, then call before school is out to remind me ... she ALWAYS gets where she needs to be!

I have obsessive thoughts. I don't talk about that ... ever. I have with another Lymie with the same problem in PM's ... it's the same thought ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. I can't talk about it. It gets worse when I feel bad and almost goes away when I feel better.

Okay, so I've been more and more like this in the last few months. First there was that incident with my mom several months ago...I completely could not finish a sentence because I couldn't think of a word...any word...to finish the sentence. The other day I was counting and couldn't think of the next number! I've been calling it a short attention span...but I zone out after a few minutes if someone is on a long winded roll...I had to tell my friend once to only send me emails of less than 5 paragraphs, lol. I'm having more and more problems remembering stuff and I definitely can't remember what I read...at least not in the context that I read it...I may remember bits and pieces but can't remember where or when I read it. For years now I've had to reread and reread stuff...I don't read much now because of that. Obsessive thoughts...yep I've got them too...I get stuck on something and I just can't seem to let it go. Huh, I hope it clears up with treatment. :P

ok....update on Dr. Amys upcoming visit. I still dont have an appt.

I called BioSET on my lunch today and told her I didnt get scheduled and I didnt even know Dr. Amy was coming next week! She said she already got an email from Scott about it but the scheduling is already booked.

She said she's telling me the same thing she told Scott....that all the schueduling is filled up...according to when Dr. Amy told her to start and end appt.'s for each day. She cant add in an extra appt. without Dr. Amy's consent.

She said to call Dr. Amy's receptionist and if they say its ok...she can add me into the schedule...but its not her call to just add people in once the schedule is booked. I'm gonna call her office tomorrow and let them know what happened and hopefully Scott has been able to get in touch with her and find something out.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Me too...still keeping my fingers crossed. I hope your call today is successful...saying a prayer that somehow it will work out.

Mine has been an auditory processing thing, quite a lot - - I will hear the first word or two or three in a directive sentnece, or a sentence containing information. I struggle a great deal with reading and keeping track of things here, for example, and I don't read books any more. And this is the girl who read East of Eden and Nicholas and Alexandra in the fourth grade. Haven't finished more than three or four books in the last five years. I can't take LOTS of information and make it concise - - can't take empirical data and come up with a conclusion. Much better now - - but still not optimal.

All of the scientificness on here - - very hard for me. I can't remember who has what, who is going through what, even when I"ve JUST read it twice.

I'm struggling with much of this right now myself.

I'd be darn content with an Amy's pizza but since I cant even have that I think I'll just hold out for the real thing.

Yep, I'd settle for a gluten free pizza! I have some gluten free rolls in my freezer and I'm }{ close to gulping one down.

Well, I'm goign to research Lyme brain again - - but from what I read of Amy Tan's story - - my case is nothing like hers.

It can affect different people differently...the symptoms may be similar but I read on lyme net every day about neurological issues.

sorry haven't been posting much becasue i have been feeling really bad but had to chime in....

Aw Mia, sure wish you felt better!

Now that is interesting. You were out driving this weekend so I assume it's not your car. I've heard of sick buildings before though. Maybe you could look at telecommuting a couple days a week. I know you need to get your fax line hooked up and it may pay to get a low speed dsl so you can have a phone/fax line as well as computer line. Course your house may not be much better with the mold.

Maybe it's the stress of work. Could it be something like Susan posted but affecting your GI tract instead?

Hi Donna--

Gosh, I'm sorry that the D is still acting up. Don't you hate to constantly have to look back over everything to try and determine what the problem is?

Anyway, it's good that you had a relaxing day off from all of it. I hope whatever it is dawns on you soon. Are you sure it's not the vitamin C?

AndreaB Contributor

Judy,

I'm getting inpatient for your test results. Since you said it would be 5 days, I'm ready a few early. :P I suppose you won't find out anything till next week with the holiday and all. <_<

Are you going to go ahead with Igenex if these come back negative? Are you going to get a copy of the report? Just think, if you test positive with this lab you'd probably be even more positive with Igenex.

The thing about it is, I took it for a whole week before I realized that it was the problem.... I was compounding the reaction the whole time :( I really feel like an idiot about that, but the doctor who prescribed it--the one I saw last Thursday for the mole removal--said that the active ingredient was the same. <_<

Thank goodness Alison mentioned "different meds"--that's what clicked.

Whenever you can work it out, I'd love to hear from you! :)

Maybe it's the stress of work. Could it be something like Susan posted but affecting your GI tract instead?

Yeah, I'm thinking stress more than anything else. This is a newer building...I think we've been in for 3 years now. Our old building was across the street so we watched them build this one. All steel girters and such. We did have a leak in our room from the ceiling, but they had the ceiling tile off and when I looked up there, it is all just steel beams. I'm really thinking I may be subconsiously making my self sick. :P:lol: Don't want to be here as much anymore. :P

Anyway, it's good that you had a relaxing day off from all of it. I hope whatever it is dawns on you soon. Are you sure it's not the vitamin C?

Yes, I hate trying to figure it all out. The problem with that is that on any given day, something that was fine for me yesterday may NOT be fine today. Hard to figure stuff out that way. Well, I cut back the vitamin C so I'm only taking 1/8 teaspoon at a time. I took two of those yesterday--spaced several hours apart. So, 1/8th teaspoon has 500 mg of Vit C. BUT, it's the crystal form and maybe that's just too much for me. I can't seem to find a capsule form that tests well for me in BioSET. I'm not sure if this one is "buffered"...maybe I need to look for one that is.

I'm getting inpatient for your test results.

Here is the letter I just emailed my ex-doctor:

Dr. Huffy, Okay I didn't actually address it that way.

Regarding your phone call two weeks ago about the email I sent to Maria, I have decided not to call you back but rather to put my thoughts into this email. I didn't care for the tone of your voice.

I think we can agree that when I visited the clinic in October of 2006 I was happy to be there and optimistic that I had found a place where I might receive help. I recall discussing with you my own investigation into a B12 deficiency and the importance I placed on understanding my test results.

I was beyond shocked that you did not have the Igenex test results in front of you when we spoke on the phone, a 15 minute phone consultation specifically set up to discuss those results. I heard you shuffling through papers trying to find it and when I brought up issues related to the indeterminates on the test you became abrupt, defensive and dismissive. More importantly, you did not seem to have noticed that the test results said I should be treated for Lyme and retested. It was obvious that you had only glanced at the negative result.

When I brought up the other tests that were done, including the muscle testing that you did and the tests done by Dr.X which showed Lyme you dismissed them. I wondered why I had paid hundreds of dollars for tests you ignored.

Then, since you didn't seem actually interested in discussing the indeterminates I proceeded to ask you questions regarding the other tests and you told me that since the phone consult was set up to discuss the Igenex results you weren't prepared to go into depth about my other tests, that was to be in the hour consult.

After our phone call I did not schedule the hour long consult, I was undecided as to whether or not I wished to expend further energy or money dealing with you. I felt like I had been treated by you precisely the same way I had been treated by conventional doctors but since I had invested so much money in getting the tests done in the first place.... This was in November of 2006 I believe.

Then December came and with it a notice about supplements and I sent an email off to Juanita ordering the Samento, Noni and the B Vitamins. I asked Juanita to notify me if I was ordering them properly but didn't hear anything back from her so by the end of December I located a source for myself. I then received an email from Juanita saying that she was sending part of the order but not all of it and then nothing, no order came, no further word as to what had happened. My January Visa bill showed that the supplements had been charged to my account in December one day and then refunded the next day.

This decided it for me, I was so ill in January and in so much pain I didn't have the energy to try further.

You, Dr.Huffy, make a wonderful first impression and certainly seem to inspire people to health but I think you may be most successful with people who are not ill. I am sure many will benefit from the changes in their lifestyle that you recommend but I am left wanting a refund.

And how absolutely hilarious that you didn't call to see how I was doing, no, you called because I insulted you.

Seriously laughing, do you know the expression ROTFLMAO? That's where I am.

Rinne

I feel so much better for writing that.

......

But, you can use the doctor excuse for the breadsticks, pizza, paninis, cheesecake, carrot cake (as much icing as cake -- PERFECT), tiramisu ... hmmm, what else? Oh, beer. Maybe you could sell them some Rinne Bars!!! Now you can even write off your trip!! :P Go in September, that's when my next appt. is.

......

Yeah, I'm toxic ... it's causing me to feel a little intoxicated! So, I'm babbling!

.....

Where in NY is it? I have a friend that lives there so a NY trip is not out of the question. <_< That would be so great but September is pretty quick, especially for any Rinne bar excuse. I don't think they would even let me cross the border with them. :(

You are very cute when you are babbling.

.....

It makes me wonder about my first depression that seemed to come out of nowhere- it was the darkest pit I've ever been in. The only thing that saved me was somehow I knew that it wasn't "me". I had never had a depressive personality- sensitive yes- but generally optimistic and making the best of things. This depression that I had was unbelievable- I'd see a black crow and think it was a sign I was going to die. You know my story

That depression with crippling panic attacks came on after I lived on Cape Cod for the summer- a place rampant with ticks.

....

I think when we are attacked it is initially on the metabollic level and at that level the body produces panic as a way of alerting us to the danger we are in but because we don't relate to it that way and instead treat the symptoms the illness grows. Just my thoughts, but I had panic attacks at one point and it was completely weird for me, I'm just not prone to them.

Can you say NOT VERY HAPPY!!

The little guy got into a curio cabinet that is by the table and got one of my horses out. It is one that hadn't sold....now I can't sell it because it is scratched. <_<

Now it is forever yours and it has a story. :) Patina. :P

PART DEUX (hi Rinne!!) (insert winky face)

Love you, darling. shall we meet in New York (Carla too, and everybody else) in September? We'll reserve the whole restaurant!

Love all of you.

.....

That would be sooooooo fun.

As to a Lyme brain for you, maybe or maybe it has just been the gluten, I was reading Ravenwoodglass's story about her lack of B vitamins and what happened to her as a result, celiac alone can be devastating and the fact that you are improving says much.

YAY...I will definately have to thank Scott for all that he did to get me in. :)

Wanted to make sure I wished you a happy birthday before your day started.

My chest pain has been caused by costochondritis, as well as times when iron supplements has given me such bad bloating it has put pressure on my back and chest, and reflux can do the same. Also, along the lines of Wheatwacked's suggestion above, is it possible you had an injury to your chest/ribs way back that is being set off by either some sort of gastrointestinal bloating/discomfort? I distinctly remember really hurting a rib over forty years ago when I misjudged a wall and thought it was just behind me but in fact it wasn't.  I fell badly against the wall and I think I cracked a rib then.  For some strange reason I didn't tell anyone but I think had I gone to hospital an X-ray would have revealed a fracture. I think that rib has not been right since and I am sure that bloating makes it worse, as well as heavy lifting.

Sorry for the long post. I’m 18, and I was diagnosed with celiac disease and type 1 diabetes (T1D). My transglutaminase IgA was >128 U/mL, EMA IgA positive twice, and I’m HLA-DQ2 and DQ8 positive. I’ve been completely asymptomatic since diagnosis, even when I cheated with gluten sometimes in the past and used to eat out(2-5 years ago) I don’t get the typical celiac reactions, which makes it really hard to know when (or if) I’ve been glutened. But for the past year, I’ve been the most strict with my diet, and that’s also when a bunch of new issues started. I eat completely glutenfree, never eat out, dont eat food that says „may contain gluten“.   Current Health Problems • Floating, undigested stools for over a year now. Dont think its related to celiac as it was like this since im 17 and not 13-16( i got diagnosed at 13). • Chronic back pain started gradually, worsens with movement, lots of cracking/popping sounds. Been ongoing for a year now. First noticed in the gym. • Abdominal bulge on the right side, not painful but seems to be getting slightly bigger. Doctor didn’t find a hernia on ultrasound, but it was done lying down (I’ve read those can miss hernias). Noticed it like 6 months ago, couldve been there longer. • extremely dry and mildly swollen hands (this started before I started excessive hand-washing), and bloated face. • Signs of inattentive ADHD (noticed over the past 3 years), now combined with severe OCD focused on contamination and cross-contact. • Growth/puberty seemed to started after going gluten-free. Before that I was not developing. Dont know if any of these are because of celiac as my dad doesnt have those and he is a lot less strict gluten-free then me. I also had pancreatic elastase tested four times: values were 46 (very low), 236, 158, and 306 (normal). Gastroenterologist said one normal value is enough and I don’t have EPI. Family doctor prescribed Kreon anyway (after I pushed for it), and I just started taking 1 capsule (10,000 units) with meals 2 days ago, but couldn‘t see effects yet because I’ve been constipated the last few days. Maybe because of thyroid. I don’t have Hashimoto’s. No thyroid antibodies. But I took levothyroxine for slightly low FT4 levels. My thyroid levels fluctuated between borderline low and low-normal. And recently lowered my dose so that may have caused the constipating. I probably didn’t need it in the first place, and am thinking about stopping it soon.   Current Diet Right now, I only eat a very limited set of “safe” foods I prepare myself: • Gluten-free bread with tuna or cheese • Milk and cornflakes • gluten-free cookies/snacks • Bananas (the only fruit I trust right now) I rarely eat other fruits or vegetables, because I’m scared of contamination. My dad, who also has celiac but doesn’t care about CC, buys fruits, and he might’ve picked them up right after handling gluten bread. That makes me feel unsafe eating them. Even fruit at stores or markets feels risky because so many people with gluten on their hands touch them.   My Home Situation (Shared Kitchen) We’re a family of 5. Only my dad and I have celiac. He eats glutenfree but doesn’t care about CC and sometimes (but rarely) cheats. My mom and siblings eat gluten bread at every meal. My mom is honest (so if i ask her to be cautious, she most likely would try to), but doesn’t seem to understand how serious celiac is. She: • Stopped using gluten flour • only cooks gluten-free meals (but they still heat up gluten bread and also cook gluten noodles) • Keeps separate butter/jam/jars for me • Bought me a stainless steel pan Bu we didn’t replace old wooden utensils, cutting boards, or other pans. The new they bought me pan was even carried home in a shopping bag with gluten bread in it, which triggered my OCD. It also has a rubber handle and I’m scared it might still hold onto gluten. Even if it’s washed well, it’s stored next to other pans that were used for gluten food/bread. Our kitchen table is used for eating gluten bread daily. My mom wipes it but not with soap. I’m scared tiny particles remain. If she made gluten-free bread dough on a board at the table, I’d still worry about cross contmaination contamination even with something under the dough and on the table as at one point the dough would probably touch the table. So I stopped eating anything she makes.   I know OCD is making it worse, but I can’t tell how much of my fear is real and how much is anxiety. Examples: • I wash my hands 20–30 times a day — before eating, after touching anything at home or outside, after using my phone/laptop. • I don’t let others touch my phone, and I’m scared to use my laptop because friends at school or my brother (who eat gluten) have touched it. And it annoys me a lot when others touch my stuff and feels like it got contaminated and is unsafe instantly. • I stopped eating while using my phone or laptop, afraid of invisible gluten being on them. • I wash my hands after opening food packaging (since it was on store cashier belts where gluten food is placed). • I avoid sitting anywhere except my bed or one clean chair. • I won’t shake hands with anyone or walk past people eating gluten. • At school, when switching classes, I wash my hands before getting out my laptop, again before opening it, etc. • I open door knobs with my elbows instead my hands   Job Concerns (Powder Coating, Sandblasting, Etc.) I’m working a temporary job right now that involves: • Powder coating • Sandblasting • Wet spray painting • Anodizing There’s also a laboratory. I don’t need this job, and my OCD makes me believe that dust or air particles there might contain gluten somehow. Should I quit?   Doctors Haven’t Helped My family doctor told me: “Asymptomatic celiac isn’t serious, if you have no symptoms, your intestines won’t get damaged, so you don’t need a gluten-free diet.” I knew that was wrong, but he wasn’t open to listening. I just nodded and didn‘t argue. My gastroenterologist (who’s also a dietitian) said: „If your antibodies are negative, there’s no damage. It might even be okay to try small amounts of gluten later if antibodies stay negative.“ Also said, pepper that says “may contain gluten” is fine if it only contains pepper. She was more informed than my family doctor but didn’t seem to fully understand celiac either.   Questions I Need Help With 1. Is it realistically safe to eat food my mom cooks, if we get separate pans/ and boards even if gluten is still used in the same kitchen? There will always be low risk of cc chances like that she will still touch stuff that was touched by her and my siblings after they ate gluten. And as there are gluten eaters in the house and she also prepares and eats gluten. So would opening the fridge then getting the food and touching the food be okay? So basically what i am doing, washing my hands multiple times while preparing food, she would only wash it once before, then touch anything else (for example water tap or handles) that were touched with gluteny hands, then also touch the food. I dont know if I ever could feel safe, I could try telling her how important cc really is. And I trust her so she wouldnt lie to me then be careless about cc, but idk how safe it really can be if she and everyone else keeps eating gluten and touching stuff in the house after eating. 2. Do I need to worry about touching doorknobs, fridge handles, light switches, etc. that family members touched after eating gluten? What about public places like bus handles or school desks? Or like if i went to the gym, I would be touching stuff all the time, so there will be small amounts of gluten and those would get transferred on my phone if I touch my phone while in the gym. But I want to knos if it would be enough to do damage. 3. Is an endoscopy (without biopsy) enough to tell if my intestines are healed? I’d pay privately if it could help and if i dont get a refferal. Or do i need a biopsy? 4. Could my job (powder coating, sandblasting, etc.) expose me to gluten or damage my intestines through air/dust? 5. Do I need certified gluten-free toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo, or moisturizer? (For example: Vaseline and Colgate don’t contain gluten ingredients but say they can’t guarantee it’s gluten-free.) 6. Is spices like pepper with “may contain traces of gluten” safe if no gluten ingredients are listed? Or does everything need to be labeled gluten-free?  7. Is continuing to only eat my own food the better choice, or could I eventually go back to eating what my mom cooks if she’s careful? 8. is cutlery from dishwasher safe if there are stains? Stuff like knives is used for cutting gluten bread or fork for noodles etc. I often see stains which i dont know if its gluten or something else but our dish washer doesnt seem to make it completely clean. 9. I wash my hands multiple times while preparing food. Do i need to do the same when touching my phone. Like if i touch the fridge handle, I wash my hands then touch the phone. I dont eat while using my phone but i leave it on my bed and pillow and my face could come in contact with where it was.  10. Do i need to clean my phone or laptop if theyve been used by people who eat gluten? Even if no crumbs fall onto my keybaord, i mean because of invisible gluten on their fingers. 11. Does medication/supplements have to be strictly glutenfree? One company said they couldn‘t guarantee if their probiotics don’t contain traces of gluten.  12. I had bought supplements in the past, some of them say glutenfree and some of them dont(like the brand „NOW“ from iherb). I bought them and used them when i wasnt washing my hands so often, are they still safe? As I touched and opened them after touching door knobs, water taps etc. It was like a year ago when i bought those and even though i was eating gluten-free, I never worried about what i touch etc. I know this post is long. I’m just extremely overwhelmed. I’m trying to protect myself from long-term health damage, but the OCD is destroying my quality of life, and I honestly don’t know what’s a reasonable level of caution anymore. Thanks for reading.

I've been making a lot of black bean brownies lately because it's one of the few gluten free dessert recipes that actually tastes palatable.  I've also seen chocolate cake recipes with black beans.  Someone mentioned a cookie recipe using lentils in place of flour.  Just wondering if anyone's run across any tried and true recipes using beans, lentils or peas for desserts?  I've seen a lot of recipes for garbanzo flour but I'm allergic to garbanzo beans/chickpeas.  Was wondering if adzuki or pinto beans might be useful in replacing some or all of the flour in baking.  Since gluten free flours can be crumbly was hoping the beans might help produce a better, less crumbly consistency.  Any recommendations for recipes?  Thanks.

I've seen a lot of recipes for chia pudding, so I decided to make some with chia, water, cocoa and honey.  Didn't like the taste, so I added ground sunflower and ground pumpkin seed to it.  It tasted okay, but came out more like frosting that pudding.  I used to make pudding with tapioca starch, milk powder, water and sugar.  It came out very good but I haven't figured out what to use to replace the milk powder to make it dairy free.  Most starches will work in place of tapioca starch but quantity varies depending on the type of starch.  If I didn't add enough starch to get a pudding consistency, I'd add gelatin as well to fix it.  Avocado and cocoa makes a good dessert with a pudding like consistency.  Unfortunately, I have a bad reaction to avocados.
