A stingray barb pierced his heart while filming a documentary, ironically, about deadly sea creatures. Very tragic, freak accident.

How is your son this morning?

He seems much better, thank you - we can enjoy the day.... and the greeen tea helped ...

I just heard about Steve Irwin, It is so very tragic, and his family so young - how sad. I hope the media will give her some privacy during the next few days.

I'm so saddened by Steve Irwin's death...I just cant even believe it. His show had gotten me hooked on Animal Planet and for a period of about a year I wouldnt watch anything else...just Animal Planet. I was fascinated by the life he led....coming face to face with all these animals. I sometimes wondered if one day he would get hurt but since he was like a hero to me I kind of thought of him as invinceable. I feel like its a huge loss for wild life. :(

I wouldnt even have to be PMS'ing to be frusterated....I feel your pain. ;)

I would have had to finish the garage myself cuz I'd go crazy otherwise....then I'd be mad cuz I had to do everything myself. <_<

Been there...done that. Its very frusterating.

Thanks, it always feels better to know I am not alone...I will have to finish the garrge myself and re-organize the storage room for all his "stuff" he never looks at but cant part with...hmmm wonder if I could call "Clean sweep" to come to my house and do the garage and his office.. :)

Mango!! Yoiu are killing us with talk of these muffins, they sound soooooo good. Maybe one of our expert bakers will experiment with the list of ingredients and come up with a recipe. That's great you have been able to go to yoga, and visiting the outback sounds fabulous! Are you taking pictures??

Nikki, I just heard about Steve irwin too and I am so shocked and saddened by the news :(

Nope I am not moving. Not again this year. I never stay planted anywhere for longer than a year.. except this year.

I was really surprised about Steve Irwins death. I always thought he was a great person to be able to deal with those animals as he does. I feel for his family.

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Our weather turned out to be nice after all, after all the rain had blown thru.

Since reading about those Crocs shoes, now I am on a mission to get some. I want to be able to walk around Disney with them.

My son finally started a new thing.. he is beginning to point to things. I know that it doesnt sound like much, but with him being so far behind b/c of his prematurity.. every milestone is a celebration.

I hope everyone is well.. :)

Stephanie, I just saw an add on TV today for Croc's. I couldn't believe it.

I just took mine off and washed them with soap and water (was in the garden) and the look like new.

they are sooooooooooo :rolleyes: comfortable.

Congrats!!! I know exactly what you mean. Everyone stared at me one day in a restaurant when my daughter finally sucked through a straw - she got it. I jumped up and said "GOOD FOR YOU! You sucked through a straw!!!!!!!!" :lol:

Not many understand the excitement except those dealing with developmental delays or prematurity isuses .

They have the "real" ones at our Wild Oats ... don't know if all Wild Oats carry them or not.

I got my kids knock-offs at Target for $10. The ones at Wild Oats are $29.

My BIL & his family all have Crocs... they look so cute together, like a family of ducks!

Congrats!!! I know exactly what you mean. Everyone stared at me one day in a restaurant when my daughter finally sucked through a straw - she got it. I jumped up and said "GOOD FOR YOU! You sucked through a straw!!!!!!!!" :lol:

Had this exact experience with my son!

Another funny one, when the twins were babies, one could do a "raspberry" & the other couldn't. He kept trying & trying & when he finally succeeded, my husband & I clapped. And that was when he learned to clap!

At the Wild Oats I go to there is a rack with the crocs hanging on it. I think they consider them gardening shoes ... otherwise it definately wouldn't make sense.

Rachel, I've also seen them at all the local health food stores here, and pretty much everywhere, but Crocs is a local company so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Go to www.crocs.com (I can't seem to do links anymore for whatever reason?) and they have an orange "coral" color in the Cayman model.

Yeah...and Judy gardens alot.....like me. They would probably be perfect for working in the yard. You guys say you can just rinse off the dirt?? That would be great but wouldnt they stain easily? I get grass stains on my shoes but just throw them in the wash and it comes off...I dont know about these plastic shoes though. :unsure:

To continue though, there was a piece on the national news here last night about the factory where the crocs are made, and it was AMAZING! And no wastage of material due to the manufacturing process. Comfy AND bio-friendly! :)

Oh Rachel you are making my day. I was thinking of you last nite when I came in from the garden and took my 'antib bacterial soap' and used a tooth brush and in less than 1 min you'd never know I been in 'ucky' mud.!!!! :o:lol:

Yep, this is true...inhibits bacterial and fungal growth..which i have to watch now with the lymphedema.

That is really good to hear Ryan.

I was reading about how the company started, 3 guys from Boulder, Co wanting to make a comfortable, stylish, waterproof, easy to clean boat shoe that didn't smell :lol: and they came up with crocs and the rest is history. There have been many news reports in the last year that they can't keep them stocked in the stores across the country because the demand is so high, they were having a hard time meeting the demand too, so they had to do some adjusting. Anyway, pretty amazing that something so simple blew up like it did, definitely a success story.

Judy, so good you are in such high spirits :):)

I haven't given in and gotten any crocs, but I did see a very pretty teal color the other day......

Wow...it looks like we'll all be sporting the Crocs in Rachelville! :lol:

I guess I better get on the ball and find myself a pair....for gardening purposes...definately not for the days I wanna appear somewhat stylish. :lol:

Yup Judy...they will be able to spot us a mile away while we're gardening in R-ville....the bright colored plastic shoes....in fact pretty much everyones feet will be glowing in R-Ville! :lol:

They are the perfect shoes for our town....Bio-friendly. :)

Well, as I told you I got back from my son's in Elko Nevada last night. Now my daughter has told me she is going to move there on Thursday and I am really sad :(

That leaves me just one daughter here, and all I ever wanted to be when I grew up was a mother, now what shall I do? :huh::huh::huh:

Elko is about 9 hours from where I live, so I can't go up there much. I am just really bummed, wish there really was a place called Rachelville

      Desperately need a vitamin D supplement. I've reacted to most brands I've tried.

      Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

      plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions...

      i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know. I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past...

      Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I...

      i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

      Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

      I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
