I do vaguely remember that I once heard, through a friend of a friend, that the only thing that even comes close to sending a chill up the mighty Mr. Norris' spine is the thought of meeting the business end of the Iroquois Skull Crusher that hangs above Susie's mantle. Speak softly and carry BIG STICK! She defies time, gravity and any other laws of physics that she pleases! :o

I am SO not afraid of that girly man Chuck. :P

Alas, I do have a photo of my Skull Cracker, which hangs near the door. How do I post it here?

When they showed the table full of guns I almost died. What is wrong with people today. That place is not so far from Harrisburg. Maybe an hour.

Amanda--I know. The place we're moving to is not very far from there, either. Maybe 30-40 minutes, I would guess...

I just hope it's the original version and not the re-make, please leave Jessica Simpson at home!

How's the packing going Patti?

I agree Susie Q does not look her age, no Susie Q hit 30-ish and just stopped. Susie Q defies time, and gravity. It's just something she does.

Of course the original, Julie

I never even saw the movie....

Packing is going ok--by starting early, the plan is to not have tons to do at the end. Driving me nuts, though--I just want it over with, already

2 weeks to go.....

And, I so agree about Susie. B) A real stunner, that one.

Forgot to say to Alex, so sorry about yoru glutening, and so glad we could make you laugh! that's what we're here for.

Patti and Tom - packing - world's most heinous task.

Anyone - - what is in coke - Richard - - putting you to this small research task - you are the man to do it.

Am going to have some wine w/ lunch.

:huh::unsure:

Who in the name of Chuck Norris do you think I am?

I seem to have misplaced the SECRET FORMULA for Coca-Cola. It was right here a minute ago, right next to the Colonel's 11 herbs and spices and my cold fusion notes...hmmm has anyone seen Robert Goulet? <_<

I do know that it makes an excellent toilet cleaner if that helps any.

Phosphoric acid...caramel color...high frustose corn syrup...cocaine...bubbles that's all i can remember

yeah, I've noticed . . . when I try to tell anyone about this thread, I get that "uh huh, sure sounds funny" with a look that says something else . . . like . . .wow, she really needs to get out more . . . or . . . how do I get away without agitating her?

-_- Remember what this emoticon is for? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

WHAT!!???!! Then why are you posting on this thread!!!:lol: This is only for ODD adults (and, for you DoTL, up and coming ODD adults).

OK, so now that I've done this twice, I have to ask . . . Daughter of The Light, how would you prefer to be addressed? I took Tom's cue and used DoTL. I've also seen Daughter and Light. That's as far as my memory goes - don't know if anyone has used anything else. What's your preference because there ain't no way I'm typing the whole thing all the time?

I prefer Light. I got that nickname on the NeoBoards and like it a lot. (My username was lightinthedarkness. I WAS gonna use it here, but w/e...) And I don't expect anyone to type the whole thing out! I don't even do it...

Light, just had myself a bowl of marshmallows. Actually, its minimarshmallows, with milk chocolate chips, nuked for about 20 seconds, then throw some (gluten-free) crsipy rice cereal on top and eat with a spoon. It's a cross between a rice crispy treat and a s'more in a bowl. Mmmmmm . . . and I don't share!

I remember in about 2nd grade the teacher put a tooth in a cup of Coke and we watched as in time, it ate away at the tooth. Didn't stop me from becoming a Pepsi addict, though....

You know, a little wine might help the whine. Kind of like WD-40 for moms.

If only I were allowed, but alcohol is in the top three reasons why Lyme patients don't get better .... haven't had a drink since Dec. 6 of last year, but who's keeping track?

Carla, I'll have an extra one for you tonight

Daughter-of-TheLight Apprentice

I'm on my THIRD load of laundry... with ONE to go! *groan* I'm running back and forth between the washing machine trying to keep up...

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
    • trents
You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
