oh, AND I'll be sending Yeti over to see the people who cut down the trees.

MOO-HOO-HOOOO-HAAAAAA-HAAAAAAAA-HAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry::lol:

Um, Tom, BTW, West Coast DOES include central valley. Doesn't just mean beach towns.....when I say East Coast I could be referring to Boston, w. Virginia, New York, anywhere.......

Um, Susie, OK.

If Fresnoites/Fresnoteers/Fresnoans wanna be called West Coast, then I suppose there's nothing more to be said.

<ya right>

Boston's ON the water, NYC is IN the water, and W.Va makes me think of coal and appalachia, even if one corner IS ~50mi from D.C.!

Hehehehe

Good luck w/ the Yeti.

Gah! I sure hope there isn't a yeti-see/yeti-doo aspect of his personality w/ Stinker setting such a bad example as of late!!

The yeti does like to shop, so maybe you can take him out for some holiday fun. He didn't seem to mind the crowds either.

Hi Susie!!! :D

So good to have you back--and get ready 'cuz he's on the way.

Hi all..........

(waving the tiniest wave)

I don't think I"m quite back yet. URGENT - please re-route Yeti's plans. Send him..........well send him somewhere where he can be handled properly. We're not ready to receive him here. We are actually on a small sabbatical..............

good gawd. I am entirely without mojo and anything smacking of it.

Perhaps will mix one of Peter's very serious martinis (ewwwwwww, could never drink that poison, has to taste like candy!!!).........

Dingy, out.

:)

Oh My God- yesterday and Thursday I had these super long posts and they BOTH got deleted. :(<_< I had no energy to go back and redo them. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

The yeti is here. He's VERY happy...seems to like Angus a LOT (oh no- yetis don't eat dogs do they?) and Angus knows his language!

My sister saw him and she thinks he should BE the pinata so we're working on a costume that will be candy-filled and break when two year olds hit him (he says he doesn't mind that as they don't hit very hard.

I can keep him for awhile if you need me to- he's actually quite sweet and he and Angus are getting on terrifically!

I'm with Susie in the no mojo crowd. :(

Well this works out perfectly then! The Yeti is with Bev, and our Susie can rest and have some time to herself. :)

We're now getting into some serious winter weather here (UGH), so I would happily take the yeti in next. He should be out in this good (hah) Canadian Cold with that fur of his. In fact, he would be an amazing addition to my BIL's competitive dog team way up north. Mygod....they'd be FLYING over those mountain passages....and the Ididerod is happening in the next couple of months. Hey, they let poodles run it...and if they disqualify a yeti, we could disguise him as a standard poodle by clipping him, perhaps in the 'circus clip', with large topknots and things...

Yes, we could have something here...

Morning Emily,

we took are expecting some cold winter weather this weekend...in the form of ice! I hate ice! It is coming late tonight and tomorrow, so all errands and grocery runs need to get done today...who knows about tomorrow. :)

:lol: Of course...A silly slip-up on my part. The I Did Her Rod is the Adult International Dogsled Race. The mushers are in some very...interesting...costumes (and completely impractical for the -50 up there), and I believe the regulations for animals used are quite... lax. A lot of whips involved, I hear...I assume to spur the team on... :o:lol:

Don't know if my BIL enters a team in this one, but the yeti could work quite well there.

Awww Boehv! I swear my method of jumping Back TWO pages in the browser works to retrieve 'lost' posts!!

You use IE, I presume? (It's same w/ Firefox anyway)

The [bACK] button, on its far right, has a tiny arrow/triangle pointing down. Clicking that lets you go Back multiple pages, skipping the pesky 'in-between page'. Simply clicking the [bACK] button itself just makes you ping-pong off that 'in-between page'. (Ack it's so hard to SAY and so easy to SHOW! )

ROFL!! :lol::lol:

Or so Angus says he said!!

What if it's a diabolical plot hatched by a previously unchallenged alpha-dog and Angus was actually told by the Yeti that he's up for anything EXCEPT any situation which could remind him of a mob of bat-wielding dwarves!!!

(Bad bad memories - and no, he doesn't want to talk about it)

P.S. After my wonderful experience w/ El Pollo Loco (1st restaurant of ANY sort in ~2.5yrs!! Ugh sometimes SO very weary of cooking everysingledamnthingiputinmymouth myself), I got a little too ballsy w/ expanding the diet. I think it caused a little Nitwit Spice to come out yesterday, as well as a reprise of the old cold-to-the-core bs. 70 degrees indoors and I'm wearing a winter hat :( .

Better today I think. :)

The ACTUAL start of the Iditerod is in Wasilla, AK, where my brother Pat last lived. :) (or at least it's where he went to pick up the mail)

They do a ceremonial, photo-op start in downtown Anchorage the day before.

Um.......Tom.............tell me what you ate at El Pollo? Is it really gluten-free now? I tried to find info on the site and couldn't..........but dear gawd, there is one right by the Target, less than three miles from my house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, 'twas young Jenn's mother who died. Jenn is only 28 - so sad.

Now lest you think this post indicates I have my mojo back, it does not.

But I am so glad Yeti is at Bev's - really takes the pressure off me. And then yes, I say he's onto Emily's where it's nice and cold, and then a poodle coif for him. Perfect.

:)

:) mmmmmmm MMMMM!!

I think it always was gluten-free, but the info isn't on the site.

Your mojo-less eucalyptically-deprived tragedy-affected ( :( ) self may have missed my 1st post on The Crazy Chicken.

I'd seen EPL mentioned several times over the months as a fave of celiacs, and I see this one ALL the time, as it's just 1 door away from the Trader Joe's just 0.6m from me. (HEY! Almost an even kilometer!)

And in some sort of shopping-synchronicity coincidence, MY Tar-jzhay(sp?) is there too! :D )

So I searched c.com and the only negative post was a dingo-created thread from long ago. EVERYone else says the chicken and pintos are fine. Not the refrieds, but no idea why. Corn torts of course also, but not for me. I don't recall the salsa sitch offhand.

Do the search. Read the posts. Enjoy the Pollo! :)

Oh Emily!! I forgot to ask - how far north IS this BIL? Yukon?

He's in Tagish, which is a community about an hour and a half north of Whitehorse. He's out in the bush, with about seventy sled dogs. Talk about rustic.....

And he's all for putting the yeti on his Iditerod team, but he must first make sure our beast qualifies as a racing animal. So, he's to let me know, but it all looks good.

Man, my mojo's slipping, as well...just got back from our Ottawa Senators vs. The Rangers. Uggghhhh, our boys stunk. Looks like a totally different team, all of a sudden. We even left a bit early, which is unheard of. We all need to give some mojo to my funked-out team!!

Enough of this...my mojo is in great form compared to yours, Susie. I'm very sorry about your friend's mom. You have good reason to be in a funk. (funky?) ;)

Hi there any advice welcomed. I have had 4 years of symptoms ranging from immune related anaphylactic symptom sudden onset food allergy to peppers/paprika/chilli/capsicum family derivatives. all these allergies fizzled out and following a food challenge test in hospital I reintroduced them a few months ago. Since then my digestive system is a mess. i have since noticed that 4 years ago when testing for iga allergies my iga level was .62 and my ttg was less than .1 (due to symptoms I was probably eating very plainly at that time). should I insist on being retested for celiac? I’ve since read two indicators for celiac include: sensitive to spicy foods when in flare up tooth enamel weakness and symmetrical discolouration patches on teeth which I have had since childhood on my two front teeth     thanks

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/
    • trents
Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
    • Scott Adams
I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
