Called my dad lat night, and told him of your brother's significant lifting of mood in the hospital when talking about the show. There was a pause, and he asked, "Uh.....is this a regular hospital?...what's, uh....the matter with him? This could explain much". So, I assured him that Colin is quite sane. But I do think that there is a certain kind of psychological...oddness needed to appreciate the humoUr in YCDTOT. :D;)

  Definitely a bit of oddness required!!! Colin said that fact that the firing squad was our absolute favoUrite part of the show may have been an early sign that there was something a little off with the two of us.

And Something's Gotta Give w/ Jack Nicolson/Diane Keaton - I own it and have seen it about.......15 times. But here's the weirdest part....if it comes on TV - I will watch it also.:huh::ph34r:

That's weird! (edit: You're not weird -- the coincidence is weird!) This movie is on TV tonight. I think I might watch it over at my brother's tonight. I think he's going to complain about the chick-flickiness of it but I'm the one making the hot jello so I think he'll relent to my TV choices.

Emily, when I was a little kid I had a buoyant bathing suit that had a little innertube built into it, so you might want to look for one of those if water wings don't do it for you! Patti -- I call them water wings too so it doesn't make you sound old! And I was a lifeguard so I consider myself an authority on this issue. :P

Amanda (and all other sick sillies) -- feel better! Stupid bugs making everybody sick. :(

The perfect solution

Hey all--I have no stove...I have one but it's incapacitated and has been since yesterday when the aforementioned gas leak happened.

Won't bore you with all the gory details, but I'm making due with a microwave, toaster and outdoor gas grill. We have to make a decision whether to reinstall the gas line or say the heck with it, get a 220 line installed and buy an electric stove. (We have to buy a new stove either way)

I love cooking with gas, but I'm ready to have them come and get the gas tank.

Meanwhile, it's grilled meat and microwaved potatoes. :o

Heh-heh-heh methinks Alex must just not be paying attn.:lol:

I'm just back from a little hoopin'. No game tho. No one else even there. Felt good nonetheless. :)

And w/ apologies to the snowed, iced or otherwise winterly-affected .. . .. .I'm in SHORTS!!!!!!!!! :P

Alex - I must warn you - - this movie has FAR more impact and meaning for the, uh, aging woman who wonders whether she'll ever find love again.... <um - we don't know ANYBODY like that now, do we? >:lol:

oh Patti. Bah! But.....as we all know....too much gas really can be an untenable situation....

I just took Mojo and Annie on a walk through the orchard, in short sleeves......gorgeous day, high sixties and sunny!

Annie kept kissing and kissing Mo on the mouth - it's the CUTEST thing - - she used to try and do that w/ Tika, but T was not a kisser and didn't let her do it for more than a couple of seconds. Mojo not only lets her do it, but she slips her the tongue also.......quite cute.

While I'd like to try gas sometime, I really like the elecs w/ the flat glass-or-whatever tops. Both the look and that they're always flat. Somehow the plain old elec burners never stay close enough to perfectly flat, making my oil pool on one side. :(

Grill some vegs like I've seen so often on the food porn shows!!!!!!!

They'll grill ANYthing! I've even seen quartered fancypants-lettuce heads look good! <grrrr can't remember which type>

(Not to confuse the metaphor but do you suppose Giada's contract has a minimum cleavage clause???? )

No offense taken...we will just remember we can curse your name tomorrow when we are trying to scrape inches of ice off our car so we can skate to work..lol :)

Gas stoves are a bit more expensive than electric but are great. My mom has a flat top she loves it, but I dont like that they do take a long time to cool so out of habit I lean on it and even though it is not red....you can get burnt. Plus her oven takes longer to heat up, there are no coils in the oven, so the heat element is underneath the bottom or something. They are sharp looking though.

 the word craptacular is a surefire LOL for me

No idea where I've seen/heard it before.

So besides the fluids assoc w/ rollover post #s, is there anything I should expect when my post# equals my member #???

I'm a mere 46 posts away!!

It must be more special as it can only happen once.

Now, for the more mathletic amongst us, I'm wondering what type of equation would fit the frequency of a forum member's post# equaling their acct#.

Of course, there's a heavy cluster to start. But then there are so many variables. (i.e. I didn't post at all for a couple yrs)

Maybe a summation of probability integrals?

Emily - I think Patti's water wings are an excellent idea. We've even still got some around here somewhere. Wish I could get them to you in time. 'Course they might not fit. They're made for a three year old. Do you have skinny little toothpick arms?

Gah! Definitely nuthin' toothpick happening here.

Well, did I kick @ss....surrounded by giggling 13 year-olds, terrified of getting their hair wet. Lots of roundhouse kicks and punches (did you know that one can sweat in the water?)! and now my legs are quite wobbly. No new bruises! However, the chlorine has made my hair look look Winehousish..... <_<

Definitely a bit of oddness required!!! Colin said that fact that the firing squad was our absolute favoUrite part of the show may have been an early sign that there was something a little off with the two of us.

My dad has some great promotional photos of the cast. If Colin would like, Dad could send him one, autographed by a few of his characters (he's got signatures for each of them, particularly Ross Ewage (say that fast!) R. Sole and Auntie Histamine. :o:lol: You can PM me if he'd like one (and if not, totally understood... just gotta tell ya that Dad was delighted to hear how the show provided some happy memories when they were needed!) :)

Emily, when I was a little kid I had a buoyant bathing suit that had a little innertube built into it, so you might want to look for one of those if water wings don't do it for you!

Now wouldn't that attract some guys! Actually, there are often older ladies in the pool who very much look like they are wearing these....:lol:

Hmmmmm... <_< Apologies accepted...begrudgingly.......

Freezing here today. Perhaps I should wear one of those inner tube bathing suits around when I'm out in the frigid weather..keep my midsection nice and warm. Why don't they sell those for winter wear?! Air Coats...

Emily--how nice of your dad to send an autograhed pic to Alex's brother.

Thanks all for the gas/electric opinions. Still undecided here--I love a gas stove, but hate the propane tank....I do like the looks of the smooth surface electrics, although I haven't cooked on an electric stove in many years.

God--I'm pitiful with decisions like these. Mark is no big help--he's like "whatever you want--I don't cook" :P

Emily maybe you found your calling, a Niche...tubular coats! I'll model!

Yes!! All-season Tubular Coats! They come fully inflated for severe cold, and air can be let out for warmer weather. They could come with a foot pump. No fussing with a zip-in lining, or several coats for changing climate...

One may look like a side-show act with it fully inflated...but man, you'd be warm!

Speaking of coldness, I keep, forgeting to tell you guys the exciting news going on: My SIL is running the Yukon Quest as we speak. One of the two huge, international dogsled races held each year up north. Very few women have ever entered, and last year she came in eighth. Took her fifteen days, driving up mountains and across frozen lakes, -40, utter darkness....craziness. But I really admire her; she's quite a woman. She's been out two days, and right now she's in 7th. Exciting! Here's the link:

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.

Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.
    • Mari
Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
