- Probably not nice . . . but this made me giggle . . . GHTAUGHMN!!!!! Surely you can do better than puffed rice!!! I bought some of this to try early in the gluten-free program, couldn't take it . . . then instead of throwing it out (if you recall, I'm a cheaparse) I tried to pulverize it in a food processor and use it in a meatloaf . . . it totally absorbed all available moisture . . . even slathered in ketchup, it was dry. I would rather just eat plain cooked rice than the puffed rice!!! . . . makes nice packing material though and considerably cheaper than bubblewrap.

So LlamaLady lives 10 mile NE of Gnu Mexico . . . I believe that puts her in Colorado somewhere??? Julie, isn't that your neck of the woods?? Look around. See any Llamas or LlamaLadies around?

Yep . . . we were visiting my BIL in the Virginia countryside for Christmas. He suggested taking the kids to an alpaca farm close by. We thought we would just pull off to the side of the road and look at them from afar. They have a little gift shop there (selling . . . um, yea, alapaca stuff) which said it was open so we pulled in. This was on Christmas Eve afternoon. The couple who lived there were working outside and came over to talk and gave us a tour and gave the kids food to hand feed the alpacas and then invited us in for cookies (none for DD) and apple cider. Super people. We spent a couple of hours with them. The alpacas were extremely curious and if you didn't move suddenly, they would come right up to you to investigate (and look for food )
