We are having a potluck lunch today at work, I made my famous chicken scampi . . .

Famous?!! :o sounds yummy ;)

Well, she and Landen were the only ones out of 15 that showed up.

Bah!!!! People!!! How depressing for her & how terribly impolite of the other 14.

Aaargh Julie! :(

Gotta run for now, I'm taking the Pod Brats who stole my good children to the library. Later!

If you've got enough rope to make harnesses you could hook them all up to the car and have them pull it to the library.

Hehe LibraryQuest!! What's the url so we can keep up on checkpoint arrivals?

Whilst shouting ''Mush'' at the little blighters!!

That's some crack-me-up Brit-speak

The U.S. broadcast of Wimbledon has a Brit co-host who said whinging this morning!!

'Twere Darren Cahill, btw, whoever that is. :P

Amanda's packing/worrying & Patti's spreading the word & Carla should be gathering tarps

However, I was quite impressed with myself and my ability to drag myself, struggling mightily, into my sage, helpful persona and, well......offer a post that was responsible, mature and serious.

uh, yeah. give us a new critique tomorrow when you aren't PUI.

Amanda, if you get a few minutes, can you PM me your famous chicken scampi recipe? :D :D

Wimbledon! Yes, there's a Canuck (what is his name?...great-looking...aquiline jaw, long, flowing, dark hair, body of Adonis) who's taken the court by storm...huge upset when he beat the 7th seed, an Argentinian....

Amazing. I am suddenly heavily interested in Wimbledon, like never before..... .. . . <_<

Ahh yes, the canuck w/ the eastern european name knockin' out Nalbandian(sp?).

Djokovic, aussie open winner, losing was another surprise. And I could barely believe Ana Ivanovic was almost bounced. She's #1, since Henin bowed out, which still seems like such a shame.

elye Community Regular

Yes! I love watching Henin play....like a young Navratilova. :)

In fact, I'll sit and watch almost any womens' tennis....just seems more exciting... ..longer rallies, more....passionate, perhaps?

Must get that Canuck Adonis Man's name.......Grrrrrrrrrrrr.......yes, Eastern European sound.......

Don't PM the recipe, post it for the good of us all!

Patti, I want to see a PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean. Lyme did a number on my hair. Much of it fell out and what was left broke. When I began treatment, it started growing back, so it's taken this long to replace all of it. I have about two inches of bad hair left, but it's not worth getting cut off right now as it's not that bad anymore. It's thickened up to where it used to be. Thankfully it was thick to begin with .....

The hair I lost 3 years ago when I was so ill never came back, but I'm not going to stress over it....just try and make the most of what I got left

On the way..... B)

... . So now I'll be looking for a lovely woman with short, wavy, bouncing curls atop her head in that Philly Starbucks, yes? :D

Uh Em....if you see that woman, it might not be a good idea to start talking about stuff like boobs, ho-tubs or whinging--she will most likely look at you like this:

Whilst I will be a few feet away with me mousy brown mop top and way too much face

I'm thinking even moreso when one is half in the bag :P

Does that mean drunk? I didn't know that! A fun new saying!!!

With all of talk of double D's and such -- has anyone ever had a professional bra fitting? My bra never feels comfortable and I'm not really sure what size I am. I lost quite a bit of weight when I was sick so things kind of um . . . deflated  but now that I'm at a healthier weight things are a little more ample. The thought of a stranger looking and measuring seems torturously awkward but maybe it's worth it for a more comfortable fit. For those who have done this, is it as bad as it seems? Perhaps I will have to be half in the bag before heading to the store for a bra fitting to deal with the discomfort of the situation.

I've done the bra fitting. It's a little weird, but worth it to finally have good fitting bras.

Had one done a few years ago at Sears, after all the pregnancy weight was gone and I was left with my new, smaller, disappointing boobs. A huge, matronly black woman measured me everywhere, pushed my boobs around, hummed and hawed......

It wasn't bad. And I discovered my new size.

jerseyangel Proficient

:D Alex....yep, half in the bag means tipsy.

A bra fitting isn't bad--you are wearing your bra during it and a woman takes a couple measurements with a tape measure in a fitting room. I read somewhere recently that 80% of women wear the wrong size bra! :o Kinda unbelieveable.....

Thanks, good to know! I'm going to the mall with Ryan's sister next week so hopefully I can get it done then. It definitely can't be more invasive than the endoscopy and colonoscopy! Although at least I was sedated for that! :P I shouldn't have to make an appointment, should I?

Ridgewalker Contributor

Hmm, I think I should do a bra fitting, too. At least, I need some new bras...

Lucas can't sleep. He's in his room reading, right now. A few minutes ago, I told him to turn the light out and try to go to sleep, and he was like, "Ok, just one more chapter!" He's seven. A chip off the ole block, I say. ^_^

...just remember to wear your 'best' bra for the fitting....not yer comfy grEy one ;)

nikki-uk Enthusiast

Ok sillies - discovered this in my paper today.....

The English Project is looking for examples of 'Kitchen table lingo' ......(words you make up and use frequently)

Some examples:

Clackers - testicles

Bobbicles - breasts

Cauliflower heads - elderly ladies

Having a McS*** - entering a fast food restaurant with no intention of buying food - just using the loo

McS*** with lies - telling staff you'll buy food afterwards

...and finally

Testiculating - waving your arms around and talking b@#$%$#%

What words could we submit??

Nikki!!!!!! Having a McSh!t!!! I love it! I do this frequently.

I have to agree with JNBunnie and Alez, btw. Having a camera up the butt has to be way worse than a bra fitting. (Never was subjected to a colonoscopy, myself.) Plus, after the bra fitting, you get to SHOP. That makes it totally worthwhile. I'm a big believer in retail therapy.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!
    • Scott Adams
Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.
    • Scott Adams
It's most likely going to be a celiac disease diagnosis based on your blood test results, but wait for your doctor to give you a green light for going gluten-free, as they may want to do additional testing. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
