OK- here's a silly:

Open Original Shared Link and makes EVERYBODY happy!

T'is good stuff that ozzie milk ;)

Well, DS has moved home!!!! We are so excited.

A year ago, he moved back to my MIL's house in Ontario, and we have had very little contact with him since. Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, he called and told us he wanted to come home. We bought him a ticket and picked him up last night. He's spent most of the day with his friends, but actually came home on time for supper for the first time...well... almost ever actually. He seems to have found some manners as well.

Part of me, I must admit, is still waiting for the other show to drop so to speak and for things to go back to the chaos filled mess they were a year ago. Is that bad?

Oh well, for now we are enjoying his company. I am glad he is home, as I missed the additional testosterone support around here.

Happy Canada Day! We are off to watch the local fire works display tonight.

Ryan!...didn't know you had a son :D ....good news he's coming home (I think!)

GADS - how old is your son??....I have 3 boys but my youngest boy (13yrs) we nicknamed the devil child

(see avatar - & what *I* would like to do to him!!)

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

He tries the patience of a saint - always getting into some sort of trouble - attitude in abundance and is currently grounded FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

<sometimes wish I had a MIL he could stay with>

I'm gritting my teeth and hoping one day he will turn out to be a decent human being--(maybe?:lol: )

Yes!!! This is most encouraging....some real good news and not me trying to inject some levity with stories of packing me arse in shorts or sumphin

Packing yer arse Patti

Aww Peter - what a lovely little chap he was :)

Every July 1, I wonder why Canada celebrates this day, but not Open Original Shared Link. Oh, probably because nobody would want another holiday in December. But in terms of the development of Canada as a country, Open Original Shared Link, was much more significant than July 1, 1867.

See, now this is why Peter is the 'Oracle'

I love his snippets of information!! :D

ONE pair underwear

Em, I live in a house of 4 males  ....am constantly trying to teach the concept of a clean pair everyday

HAVE FFFFUUUUUUNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meant to add....

Sarah, it's great you've found baking therapeutic!! (dear gaaawd I have NO patience for it!)

I found gardening very relaxing....helps you work off any excess 'nervous energy', painting, drawing, reading also.

It's a bit of a cliche I know (and most probably not practical whilst the boys are off school for the summer) but exercize is my saving grace....it keeps the demons at bay - lifts my mood - makes me feel a little better about meself etc...etc.....BUT I've never been any good at self motivation, that's why I now go to 'group classes'

I do a mixture throughout the week of aerobic, weights, yoga and pilates (my favoUrites)... very calming :)

Mornin Nik :D Looks like we're the only ones here.....

I know what you mean about the exercise--I feel better after, but it's really hard to get motivated to do it. I hate to sweat

I imagine Emily, fresh off late-night fireworks and packing, is heading off for the States as we speak. She'll be here for Independance Day, so more fireworks! :P

Re: yer 13 year old troublemaker--he's testing his boundries and your patience at the same time. I had one like that, and he's now a hard-working, tax paying member of society (!) Yer a good mum, and yer boys are gonna turn out fine :D

Shoot, I wanted to say safe and happy travels before you left! Well done on being able to fit in a run on such a harried, busy morning! Being the runner that you are I may need to pick your brain about IT band syndrome when you come back. I have been bothered by a snapping hip every time I take a step and annoying knee pain and thankfully the xray was clean so my doc thinks it's my IT band. I guess this is common amongst runners. I'm hoping physiotherapy will do the trick for me.

Anyway, I hope you can hear me from the highway: TRAVEL SAFELY AND HAVE FUNNNNNN! :D (red and blue for your American adventure -- white wouldn't show up ;))

He's almost 16, and yes...someday we hope he too will return to being a normal human being.

I can also sympathize with the suitcase packing this as well, but in some cases that's all that may also be in their dressers, which is why it never ends up in the laundry! :)<_<

In lieu of my usual confetti for milestone posts, I made you a foot to kick the ex and the former MIL in the but, far away from your daughter.

Ooooo

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
    • Scott Adams
I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
