... At this point it makes the most sense- I haven't come into contact with anything new that I can think of, to be allergic to!

That's what made me think it has to be something else.

That's great about your appetite! I haven't found anything yet that could diminish mine--even when I was at my sickest, I could always eat. <_<

I was meaning to ask how the low-salt Edna was going--yeah, after a few days you kinda get used to it. I actually didn't realize how much I was using until I stopped.

2 pm here, can't seem to think about much else today......

Oh no, Julieeeeeeee- say it isn't so!!! Is this something that's kinda been building, or is it a sudden reaction? Can you do sorghum flour?

Sarah, I recently had an MRT allergy type test done and rice is one of my NO NO foods <_<

I can't do sorghum but all the lovely people up in the baking section, including Patti, helped me figure out some alternatives to bake with. I can do a blend of potato starch/flour and tapioca starch flour and then add in quinoa, corn, coconut, or buckwheat flours. I'll have to do some experimenting.

I had a really great day today, you guys... actually felt better today than I have in weeks, since I started all this medication hullabaloo. I think stopping the Prozac was a smart move.

The weird thing, though, is I woke up with my right eye all swollen and the lid was red. I took some benedryl, and the swelling slowly went down through the day... I thought it was just a yucky bug bite, but now it looks like a rash. Then this afternoon I noticed that I have a rash on the tops of both feet, and coming about 1/2 up my shins. Now tonight, it looks like the same thing might be popping up on my forearms.

NOW what in hell is going on? It's not bothering me if nothing touches it, but if I touch it, it's really itchy. So I'm trying not to touch it. It's tiny little red bumps... I reckon it must be some type of allergic reaction, I just can't think of what it might be. It looks like a heat rash, but it's not in the right places...

Glad to hear you had a GREAT day Sarah!

Sorry about the rash :( Patti had a good point about the drug withdrawal. You know rashes and hives are very hard to pinpoint the source. Stress is also a big trigger as they are nerve related so that is something to consider with all the stress you have had.

No make=up talk, not even when it makes me look gothic lol, or when it makes my skin go black lol.

That is unless one of us from the mad make-up cult should happen to be crowned Queen, then there might be a royal declaration lifting the ban on make-up talk

But I thought chocolate was already out?

Yes, chocolate is out :(

But Momma Goose and I have sort of been unofficial spokespersons (spokespeople?) for the very delicious Pamela's Baking Mixes, our favorite being the Chocolate Cake, all of them made with rice flour unfortunately, and then the chocolate in the chocolate varieties.....:(

Julie!! - surely not?????...no chocolate cake????? .....that's just NOT right!!! (excellent Edna points though  )

Don't worry Nikki, I will come up with some other sinfully good treats, Edna definitely won't approve

I'm fixing to make some kind of apple crisp for tomorrow, and a coconut cake for me b-day....or maybe homemade strawberry ice cream.......lots of possibilities without chocolate.

But I will miss chocolate cake :(

....OMG....and I have a new addition to the family....

The other 2 cats look like this--------->

How exciting! Looking forward to seeing a picture of young Boris

Edited to add-- One other "symptom" that isn't hurting my feelings too much-- my appetite has bottomed out. I think I've lost 4 or 5 pounds in the past week! Also, the low-salt-bland-tasting-food isn't bothering me as much anymore. So Edna is happy.

Congrats Sarah! Glad your no-salt Edna is working :)

Patti and Jess how are your Edna's coming along??

psawyer Proficient

'Tis very subdued here today.

I think we must all be in Oakley, CA, where it is now coming up on 2 pm.

Hoping Susie and David are holding up.

Patti and Jess how are your Edna's coming along??

My Edna is doing well. I had some fruit today and started coughing because of how sweet it was

Body doesn't hurt, psoriasis going away, lost a few pounds. I think Edna's are easier to stick to if screwing up is painful (or, y'know, causes you to wake up with maple syrup in your hair).

(wailing) Nooooooooooo! I'm itchy as hell! I don't know where this has come from.

I want to give real hugs, not just typed ones.

Sarah . . . you're covered with a hanus itchy rash and you want to give REAL hugs??!!?? Ummmmm, I'll wait just a tad for mine.

OK!!! I'm back . . . and I'm exhausted. I've read and caught up but feel too late to comment on much.

Happy, safe trips to all our travelors. Lisa Goose - WooHoo on the 5K!! JooLee - Dagnabit on the rice - but I am a fellow Pamela's fanatic. Nikki . . . -> :P <- . . . congrats on your new addition. PawLuh - welcome.

More Later . . . need to go in search of an alcoholic beverage.

OH - Made gluten-free fried chicken for my folks. Didn't tell my dad as he would then refuse it on principle (I'm sure you guys know the type). He ate three pieces (and still doesn't know).

I think we must all be in Oakley, CA,

I think ya nailed it there, Peter.

Feels so helpless, wishing there were something I could do.

I did find I'm ~ an hour & 17min from there.

:secondaryanguishface: <and tertiary as well>

That's quite a trade off :) Makes it easier to stick with when the alternative is feeling so bad.

OK!!! I'm back

Welcome back Janet!

Now that you admitted you are also a Pamela's fanatic you will be required to eat double servings everytime you have Pamela's, one for you and one for me

That's funny about your dad not knowing, most people if you don't tell them they will never know. Not sure why gluten-free gets such a bad wrap <_<

Now go knock back a few and relax a little!

Hehe Darn good point!

Some bad news to report, I no longer can partake in eating our beloved Pamela's products

Aw Julie, I know how much you fancy your Pamela's cookies :( Remember when we all put our favorite snacks in our avs? :P

Between MG and Patti, I think the board would cease to exist without the two of them.

You belong on that list too, Laura my dear! Not to get corny, but I get so much more than I could ever give here on the board :D

Hey!!!!!!

Well look who pooped in! :D

....OMG....and I have a new addition to the family....

He's furry, 12 weeks old, ginger and white, purrs and is called Boris :D

<read mad cat lady strikes again  >

I wanna see a picture of wee Boris!

Patti and Jess how are your Edna's coming along??

Pretty good--for the first month, I was very strict with it...I'm having sweets (dark chocolate) more often now but still no grains at all and very low sodium.

Body doesn't hurt, psoriasis going away, lost a few pounds. I think Edna's are easier to stick to if screwing up is painful (or, y'know, causes you to wake up with maple syrup in your hair).

This is great, Jess! :)

Well, I'm not so sure if this is a typo. If you take a rooster and roast it to perfection in a slow cooker, wouldn't it in fact be a cock pot? Click here to see a picture of a large cock.

 Can't blame ya there, but I don't think it's catching. It does seem to be spreading like crazy on ME, though. Btw, I want your recipe for fried chicken!

Been laughing my butt off about the Cockpot Potatoes!

Went to Whole Paycheck, I mean Whole Foods tonight, in search of hotdog buns. They were sold out of course. Now I'm contemplating whether I should go back and try again in the morning or not... Ugh. It's an hour drive one way, and they may still be out. I think the boys are going to have to do without. I can make hamburger buns, but they're just doing hotdogs at tomorrow's party. Haven't mastered that shape of bun yet. <_<

Brian got lost in the wine section, and the boys were starving, sooo... I ended up checking out at sixty bucks anyway. I have a love/hate relationship with that store. More hate than love tonight.

Oh... mah... gah... Can't sleep... Too itchy... Tomorrow's gonna be interesting, I can tell... -_-

Oh yes I can understand the tiredness after going threw all that, must be exhausting especially on the mind I have high aniexty so I can understand that , I wish there more easier ways for people to get help , I had a MRI on my spine some years ago without anything it was really quick and no prep , I understand the need for  them to see better with the bowel ,but you think they would use something a little less traumatic  for ibd sufferers on the bowels by now ,I hope your feeling better today 🙏

The previous post did not come through right. I wonder if tingling burning feet are part of it.. I'm not sure if it's the med reaction that people with gluten intolerance get or the food we ate  It's frustrating because a person who did not want to admit to himself I had this condition wanted me to eat this chicken sandwich and now I'm stuck with a variety of symptoms plus now I'm hungry on top of it..  I'm new to this so I forget that "one bite" of the wrong thing can hurt us.😔. Do we stop eating if someone exposed us to gluten ??  My stomach is rumbling but my joints hurt ...  It's weird because I can feel the anxiety coming on.  I get joint problems ,  I don't know if anyone ever got hot flashes?? I suppose if it affects people head to toes you can get that too.   It's weird...hard to decipher what is what.   Also how long do I have to deal with this attack??  Makes me feel like not getting up out of bed.  I get too many symptoms which  horrible.  Thank you for your response..

as my last post stated, i was diagnosed via endoscopy on the 14th of june. i have been eating amazing home cooked meals, luckily, mainly cooked by my boyfriend who is extremely careful about contamination (and is an incredible cook at that). however, i find myself in a mental rut still. being 18, this is the time in my life where i should be exploring things, going out, having fun. yet every corner i turn i'm tortured by the amazing smell of something i can't have anymore. the wonderful sight of such yummy foods. it's near torture. if my boyfriend and his friend who lives with us buy something i can't have, they'll usually eat it outside of the house or the car or wherever we are - which is greatly appreciated - but even seeing a burger or chips or a sausage roll in their hands guts me almost beyond repair. i just wanna have it again too. i miss it. i feel left out and it makes me very sad all the time. it's not their fault. they are allowed to eat whatever they want to, whatever their intestines will allow. it just stings, bad. and i feel so ungrateful given i basically have a private chef who is doubly the love of my life. but it's just so hard. i know i'll adapt. i haven't given up hope.i just wanted to vent. thank you for reading

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.
