Emily!! :o I thought there was something suspicious about that little group of people on the terrace who were strangely quiet whilst we were chatting......could have been Skaught and a couple of his goons having heard of the Summit....

They must have been in it from the beginning--hence the room number--coincidence.....I don't think so B)

Clinic misdiagnosed the other day...I have a raging bronchitis infection which is accounting for the burning/gnawing chest symptoms...I have been put on the Z-pak! I had a fever when I was at the clinic and they were saying no.....Crazy!

Misdiagnosis <_< always sets my teeth on edge......

The Z-Pack is good stuff! So relieved you're starting it--hopefully it'll do the trick and quickly! :D

Yesssssssssss......Patti, you have it. It's all making sense. SKaaughtt and his lackeys, quietly listening in.....taking notes....making subtle, minute gestures and signals at one another. Did a dark, unmarked car follow you guys to the turnpike? They likely wanted to be certain that we had truly separated...... .. .

They are scared. Oh, yes, they are scared. B)

The powers above have heard about us - - the bizarre, strangely compelling and hilarious individuals who inhabit their Thread of Silly......and perhaps feel a little.....left out? Maybe frightened, as they could have heard swirling accounts of a powerful monarchy at work, and strange, new spelling and vocabulary....a veritable language having developed.

The Investigate Psilly Summiters Command is issued, and the rest is history.

Um, well maybe I can try to create some majestic BS. I never did officially work in the marketing department, but I was seconded to them frequently when I worked for H!tach! (obscured to prevent Google hits) . It has been many years, so it will take a bit to make the transformation.

Seriously, I don't know any details of what befell the board yesterday, and it sounds like Scott is not sure either.

IPS can refer to binary internet addresses, and driver is a term for software that works at a relatively low level with input/output hardware. Your mouse, for example, has a driver which interprets the electrical signals coming into the port and translates them into motion and clicks. I don't know if that is of any help to anybody.

I suspect that the underlying problem was data corruption. This is the techie's nightmare, and I know it well. There are all kinds of things you can do to protect yourself against simple hardware failures, but none of them are worth a darn if the data itself is altered in a way that damages it. In the end, you have to go back to a good version, if you even have one. Serious mainframe database systems journal all changes so reconstruction is possible (after you fix the software bug that damaged the data in the first place), but this requires a lot of planning in the design phase.

oh my gawd- board IBS  Did we get get cyber-terrorized?????

A message from Uncle Ray:

I knew there was a reason I like to drink!

To all my friends who enjoy a glass of wine ... and to those who don't.

As Ben Franklin once said: "In wine, there is wisdom, in beer, there is freedom, in water, there is bacteria".

Through a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have discovered that if we drink 2 pints of water each day, at the end of the year, we have absorbed more than 2 1/2 pounds of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - the bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 2 1/2 pounds of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol must go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting. Not to mention that alcohol kills bacteria.

So Remember: Water =3 D Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it is better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I do it as a public service. :P

Well, I was gonna say "Sorry I've been MIA," but I see the board was down for a day, so... I'm glad I didn't try to get on. If I'd tried and been unable, that probably would have put me in a tale spin- it's been that kind of time.

Not been doing so well on the Effexor Withdrawal Front. A brand new rash in brand new places... so far this one isn't quite as itchy... but it's an odd emotional barometer. If I get upset, it turns much darker and new spots come out. :(

We can also add random, zero-warning vomitting to the list. And I mean... zero warning. One second I'm fine, and the next... everything is coming up and up and up.

Having kind of a bad night tonight with the weepies... I just want there to be an end in sight, and no one can tell me when it will be over.

I hate it when I get like this... everything seems impossible. I'll be lucky if my kids aren't emotionally scarred by the summer of the crazy mom. My iPod died, and Apple said it would be about $180 to fix it. Not gonna happen anytime soon. Oh... and joy of joys- I found mouse poop in a corner by the refrigerator.

Lucas's problems aren't showing any sign of improvement yet, but he's gotten dairy'd three times in the week we've been attempting this. <_< So I'm still holding out hope that being dairy-free will help him.

I'm trying to think of an upside to the past few days. Well... I cleaned out my lower kitchen cupboards today, and there was no mouse poop in there. That's one good thing! B)

I'd go with a vodka tonic, but that's just me😉

That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.

While plain, pure tea leaves (black, green, or white) are naturally gluten-free, the issue often lies not with the tea itself but with other ingredients or processing. Many flavored teas use barley malt or other gluten-containing grains as a flavoring agent, which would be clearly listed on the ingredient label. Cross-contamination is another possibility, either in the facility where the tea is processed or, surprisingly, from the tea bag material itself—some tea bags are sealed with a wheat-based glue. Furthermore, it's important to consider that your reaction could be to other substances in tea, such as high levels of tannins, which can be hard on the stomach, or to natural histamines or other compounds that can cause a non-celiac immune response. The best way to investigate is to carefully read labels for hidden ingredients, try switching to a certified gluten-free tea brand that uses whole leaf or pyramid-style bags, and see if the reaction persists.

This is a challenging and confusing situation. The combination of a positive EMA—which is a highly specific marker rarely yielding false positives—alongside strongly elevated TTG on two separate occasions, years apart, is profoundly suggestive of celiac disease, even in the absence of biopsy damage. This pattern strongly aligns with what is known as "potential celiac disease," where the immune system is clearly activated, but intestinal damage has not yet become visible under the microscope. Your concern about the long-term risk of continued gluten consumption is valid, especially given your family's experience with the consequences of delayed diagnosis. Since your daughter is now at an age where her buy-in is essential for a gluten-free lifestyle, obtaining a definitive answer is crucial for her long-term adherence and health. Given that she is asymptomatic yet serologically positive, a third biopsy now, after a proper 12-week challenge, offers the best chance to capture any microscopic damage that may have developed, providing the concrete evidence needed to justify the dietary change. This isn't about wanting her to have celiac; it's about wanting to prevent the insidious damage that can occur while waiting for symptoms to appear, and ultimately giving her the unambiguous "why" she needs to accept and commit to the necessary treatment. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.
