Did anyone besides Julie see "Dirty Sexy Money" last night? I'm already back into it :lol:B) Julie--what didja think?

Good luck today, Amanda :)

Em--I agree, it's just wild that they sell treadmills for pets. What happened to taking a nice walk?? I'd much prefer to walk outdoors, but they drive pretty crazily here on these winding country roads. A goil takes her life into her own hands out there :P

Enjoy the day sillies--see ya later :D

It's the squirrels, I'm telling you. They MUST be behind it all. Coaxing the odd rat to "eat that stuff...it's delicious and harmless, really"...., convincing hapless birds that "it's a throughway into the house - - you can see right inside....go ahead, fly through....you're good".....

They are brillliant, charismatic and dangerous. . ......

Who can stop them??

:(

Well, I had to scoop up the beautiful, dead bird with my HAND TROWEL, to extricate it from the plant, and THEN onto the shovel.

It broke its neck in teh window crash, and blood was coming out of its closed eye.........dear gawd.....too much savage imagery for me. <erase - erase - erase>

 I showed it to Annie, who was quite curious about it, and she opened her mouth and started to try and get it...........zoigs. A firm "NO" put a stop to this........wonder if the little scavenger would have eaten it?

so now, things in my trash can:

1. an old Nike soccer slide smeared with poo

2. dead, poisoned rat

3. dead, suicidal bird

Woo-hoo I have 2 eyes again!!!!

My Dr said she couldn't tell if it was pink eye or allergies but looking at me today she thought I was fine and if she didn't know anything that I had told her she would assume that I never had any issues with my eye.

I have got to vent something.....Jen was supposed to come up here and help me do a few things this morning, she didn't and was not home when I ran out at 9:00. She is still not back but didn't have even the courtesy to call or send a message saying look something came up I'm sorry. I am really angry cause I waited for her. This isn't the first time she did this either! Any thoughts?

elye Community Regular

Amanda! Shame on Jen. . . ..Things that you've mentioned to us in the past have made me suspect that Jen perhaps does not always respect your time, your needs, your incredible, unconditional support and friendship . . . ... . ...I dunno, I may be judging too harshly on situations I know too little about - - just a feeling.

OMG. . . . .The PHUNNIEST of lessons today. . . . I had squirrels on the brain, so held an impromptu pronunciation session.:lol: Now, the word "squirrel" is, bar none, the most difficult word for Francophone speakers to pronounce - - some simply cannot say it at all. So, I was hammering away at it, breaking the word into syllables and having them repeat it over and over, lengthening the sounds which continued to remain beyond them . . . ...

. . . . Perhaps you had to be there. . . . . ....<_<

Ok- so Jen has a good excuse this time-- Landen is in the hospital. She took him to the ER at 5 am and the ER discharaged him with a temp of 105. saying nothing was wrong. SO she took him to his Ped. who is not affliated with our hospital. Here he has double earaches and a rectal temp of 106...so they are going to put tubes in his ears ASAP....

elye Community Regular

Oh, Amanda! Poor little Landen .. ....... . .. :(

Keep us posted. . . . .

Patti! How's your gastrointestinal situation??

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Yes Patti how are you after the Endo appt?

Yes, Patti, we are waiting and hoping you had a good appointment.

Man ----------Patti must be writing a book.

Or maybe............she found out all this wonderful info to share with all of us to help us all heal

jerseyangel Proficient

Amanda--poor little Landen, that baby's been through so much this year! Let us know how he does.

Well, we just got home.....all I can say is that this appointment was worth waiting for. The gastro spent over 30 minutes wif me, going over me tests/bloodwork/etc. She even ran a haplotype/gene test.....which incidently came out the same as Enterolab with the DQ2. No big surprise there, but good to know about the accuracy of Enterolab.

She's committed to helping me with my food intolerances and resulting D. We're trying sumphin for the next 6 weeks involving meds and a detailed food diary. At that point, I go back and she'll review the situation. She has a couple other ideas, so if this isn't successful we will go on to the next thing.

I may have to have another colonoscopy :( (had one 3 years ago), we'll revisit that too in 6 weeks. (not to check for anything sinister, but to take more biopsies for diagnostic purposes) She also told me she has some literature that talks about sprue and the colon, which she will read up on in the meantime.

I looked at her and asked her if I was a lost cause (tongue in cheek) and she said no--and that the goal was going to be to get me feeling better.

She sat and asked how this all started--she was very interested in the full picture. I have never had that happen before--her eyes were not glazed over, she was really listening. :o I'm so hopeful :D

Yay! A good doc visit!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
