Weez awoke quite suddenly around 4 and vomited dangerously close to my head :unsure: (on her blankie, thank God) I mean, there was NO warning, no prolonged gagging..........just one quick gag and then BLECH :blink: She spent the next hour going outside and back in......am a bit tired................

The younger kids are allowed half a glass of wine with lemonade (Dan's allowed a FULL glass 'cos he's 19 yrs ;) ) at dinner.......but it seems to have a profound effect on Al :lol: ......GAAAWD we couldn't shut him up!!!!!!

Dan bought me 'Mamma Mia' (SUSIE!!!!!!! DO NOT READ!!!!!!!)

Got ten at our table tonight..should be loverly. Games afterward, likely password and charades. My dad can no longer see very well, so he cannot really make out what the person is acting out. He now just shouts out things....."Oh!! That's a trapeze yer on! No....wait......you're directing traffic! you're back for a pass.....uh...NO! You're performing a Caesarian section!"

Well, today was fun! We played a rowdy game of 'Chicken foot'......it's a form of Dominoes :rolleyes: DD and her boyfriend took us to the theater to see "Marley and Me". Excellent movie, but OMG......the previews did not give any warning about the need for tissues! My brother was terribly sick today and could not come. :(

Em.........surely your MIL needs her eyes checked!

Soozie.....I wonder if Weezer's vomit episode was caused by whatever she was so guilty looking about. (does that sentence even make sense?)

OK......it's been over 4 hours.........where's all me drunken psillies?

Morning Sillies

tis back at work for me. But good news though its a 3-day weekend for us! We took Monday off, got to get some paperwork done for the house and some packing. I am thinking of skipping the painting and just moving in....maybe paint another day! I just want to start living in the new house!

Did you guys hear it will be another black friday today with stores trying to get rid of stuff? I am not braving the shopping scene but good luck to whoever else might be.

The cacophany continues today 'round here....Jack's birthday. Made the cake a couple of days ago, and his presents sit waiting. 'Tis a blur for that boy, this week is. Fer ME, too! :wacko:

At least they are little, and can stagger around under most things. Um, MIL cannot, and she was a 'feelin' NO pain last evening. I eventually gave her a small glass of absinthe. OMG. Well, she did get to bed.....and she did NOT get into my car.

Actually, perhaps she would drive better while hammered. :lol:

My fender is slightly dented, with a scratch. :huh::angry: She knew about this happenstance, no question. . . . . ...Ah, such are the holidays. . . .....at least it was our lamp post and not one of our neighboUrs.....gad, like Mrs. Chow, who doesn't move too fast. .. . .....

Happy Birthday Jack!!!!

I agree with the blur- my mom's birthday is the 21st.

Out of 19 coworkers only 3 of us are scheduled in today so it is very quiet in the office. Nice since I can get a lot of work done. It just seems like such a long day- I actually have my slippers on right now. :) Tis the day to be lazy :)

Good mornin all! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was pretty quiet, but had lots of good phone conversations and long distance hugs.

Kween Manda....I know just how you feel about the longing to be in your new home. We bought ours a little over a year ago. The PLAN was to thoroughly clean everything first, and then move.....but we got so excited about being in our new home, we spent one day cleaning and then started moving in. All of the painting got done after.....inside over the winter, outside this summer. Still have some painting to do but probably not till spring. I'm still re-organizing (which drives telahubby nuts), but am nearer to being happy with where everything is. Finally started getting pictures out for the walls, they will go up after Christmas gets put away.

I guess what I'm saying is that making the house a home is a process. Enjoy the move in, worry about the details as you have time. Try to avoid making it into pressure and frustration...it can be lots of fun! Good luck with the new home......a great adventure!

Another Black Friday? <shiver of dread face> uuunh! One is bad enough! Think I'll avoid it all, like I do the first one. The stores have been screaming and crying and rending their clothes, sitting in ashes and sackcloth and mourning over lost revenues, horrifying decrease in customers. You would have thought that each and every one was on the verge of collapse. And yet, after it all, sales were down....what.....5%?!! I know things are tough, but somehow I don't believe it's nearly as bad as the cries of the doomsayers are proclaiming!

That's it for todays sermon. I'm sure that our "market adjustments" will, in the end, prove to be not such a bad thing. <_<

Napping and lazing around, movie watching, and some baking/cooking of comfort phoods (i.e. creme de menthe brownies :D ) are on the agenda today.

We had a LURVELY time at me mum's, 19 of us, and guess what, it got QUITE RAUCOUS!!!!! :lol: Played a rather screeching game of Trivial Pursuit...........

And - - Weez has NOT gotten her paws on me leftovers thsi time, just had some bubble and squeak, YUM!

Oh, I think her wee barph episode was from the SKIN of the smoked salmon that Bad Mommy gave her :ph34r: too rich for her fat little tummy

My niece and her boyfriend drove 20 hours straight through to get here from Seattle :blink:

Saw my other niece's GORGEOUS engagement ring - - have almost two years to find and divorce my husband, as mentioned here before :lol:

Well, off to me mum's for movies and such......may need to pop into Pier One for some ornaments for me wee tree ;)

Maybe I'll do some plant and flower shopping (or at least dreaming...about SPRING!). I make necklaces too. I think I'm overdue for some semiprecious stone shopping!

      Dang......did it again and yeah I should admit I am 63 with clumsy phone thumbs. I started feeling better quickly and a doctor a year later said I had to eat  poison (gluten) every day for a month so he could formally diagnose me and NO FREAKING WAY. I couldn't then and can't imagine putting my body through that crap (no pun intended) on purpose ever again.  Why ingest poison for a month to have some doctor say Hey, All you Have To Do Is Never Eat poison Again..

      It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.

      Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.
