Ok, I'm only caught up to page 2272. I know, I'm a horribly recalcitrant sillie.

In other news, I created cinnamon buns (almost!) and I'm going to bed.

Am I the only one who really never has anything interesting to talk about? I'm sure something interesting has happened in the past few weeks, parently I'm just too tired to think of anything. I want a dawg, you guys're makin me jealous with yer aminal talk! I'll be back tomorrow to see who the new Reigning King/Qween is!

Nope . . . they've already got an apartment lined up. Plus when FIL is in town, he prefers to stay at a hotel . . . he likes his privacy/down time. At the most, me MIL might stay with us again for a couple of days if she comes in to take care of a few more details . . . she does not like to stay at a hotel by herself.

I find these two sentences contradictory . . . I think cinnamon buns are awfully interesting!!!

Meese are an interesting challenge. We get them in the house once in a while, but never are sure whether they get in on their own or have help from our cats. A while back Riley cornered a chipmunk in the front hall. We think she chased/brought it inside from the back deck. We opened the front door and it ran out, but only after a lengthy standoff.k

I am starting to phind it very hard to type a normal response to a pserious kwestyun. One duz not want to phrighten opphh the pholks with pserious kwestyuns. Dey mite think we woz mad???

Good morning, Psillies!

MmmMmmmMmMMmm. . . ..cinnamon buns. . . .. .. . ...

Buh-knee, have you tried concocting these with Splenda? I have always found that baked goodies suffer when I replace sugar with an artificial sweetener, even Splenda and especially gluten-free recipes. Probably just as well. . .... . ..dunno what would happen if I had a dozen of these things sitting in me kitchen, totally legal.. . . ....

Jyaghnutt! Thank GAWD yer in-laws are not movin' in with you! Actually, I sound much more uptight about that potential situation than you do. Cannot imagine why... .. .. <_<

Must tell you all about the unique experience we had last night. We were invited to attend The Carnivale Lune Bleue, for dinner and the shows afterward:

Well, it was like stepping completely back in time, into a 1930's depression-era carnival. Sword-swallowers, fire-eaters, side-show freaks (Sooooze! I just KNOW I walked by the Clovis Zombie Man), an incredible show of acrobatics, magic and mysticism.....fortune-tellers, bawdy showgirls, a wonderful swing band. It made me realize, and my kids now know, how tremendous these times were, how much better in many ways these entertainment venues had to be, back when there were no high-tech special effects. It was an unforgettable, "playful place of whimsy, wonders and delights, of sensual sights, sounds and smells; of historic rides, sparkling lights, stunning banners, captivating games of skill and charismatic characters who beckon you to partake".

Think I wanna run away and become a carny.

Morning Sillies-

Been quite a week--

The trip to Niagara was wonderful. My mom enjoyed it so much. She had never been and that made it all the better. From the falls we went to Fort Niargara and visited the Fort Niagara Lighthouse. It was the first lighthouse my mom had been to. It was really cool too. We then went into Rochester and did some shopping. My mom got stuck in a bathroom and could not get out and that was funny.

Tuesday I found out I was pregnant...before you jump for joy--finish reading. It was nice to be able to share that joy with my mom. I came home to my own house on weds. John and I were out doing some shopping and I was very crampy....very painful- odd cramps...by the time we got home I found out I was bleeding. We took a test and it came up negative. So I went into the dr yesterday morning and it turns out I had a chemical pregnancy and that means I miscarried early. So I was pretty upset and so was John we had both been excited but since we didnt really sdhare the news with anyone other than the close families it was nice to not have to share the worst news. As you can see I didnt post any good or bad news on the phacebook- there are many people who I will never share this news with. I did want you guys to all know. We are all close on here. Anyway, we put that behind us, we will just try again next month. We are just taking it as it wasn't meant to be.

So now I have 3 days left of vacation and we are going to try to get to the beach. Maybe late tonight and stay through till tomorrow.

Right now I am watching Hurricane Katrina....its interesting. A rainy day today here.

Hi to all our new sillies who came while I was on my sanitycation.

Judy- I bet that house sells soon seems like there is a lot of interest- always a good sign

Em the tree looks beautiful

I'm so sorry too! That happened to me while I was at work 2 years ago, it was a horrible day. My silver lining was that my bestest friend had her baby girl on that very same day, I figured since I already had 2 beautiful kids and she had been trying for years with no success, God must have thought she needed my baby more than me. I pray that it will happen for you soon :)

I'm so sorry, Amanda. I think you and John have a fabulous attitude--it will happen :)

Glad you and your mom had a nice getaway!

Thanks guys!

John and I have been trying on and off for a few years but in the last six months have been more serious about it, watching for the fertile time, making sure we are eating much better, reducing things that harm you during the baby making process.

It just is hard since my SIL who lives 10 minutes away is already trying for #2 when she doesn't even ever have #1. She has her bad habits which you all know and sometimes I feel she rubs it in our faces that she has beautiful kids and we have none...its hard!

I think I'll post what I did in the recipes section today, so you can check it out and see if it would translate well. I made it with only honey, so I would sub with agave nectar instead of splenda anyway. And the batter wasn't really thick enough to make buns with, so it was more like cinnamon bun bread/cake. I made it plain with just a thin honey syrup on top, I think next time I'll swirl in walnuts chopped tiny.

Manda, can I ask if John is taking pre-conception vitamins, or following a pre-conception diet? I've read a lot about traditional societies where the man who's to be the father goes through just as rigorous a course of action as the mother does. I'll look some stuff up. Obviously he can conceive though, which is great news!! I'm sure you guys will succeed.

NOW I have to ask. How do bresticles go from size H ( :o ) to so much smaller? And isn't you happy that they're not so hugemongous now? I'm a size C and I think they're annoying....

Oh, just thought I should mention, my boyfriend gave me his cold so I'm home from work today and not able to go and get stuff done while we have decent weather. So I'm sitting around drinking lots of tea and reading books and watching tv and playing with my sillies! The BF's also home from work, so I has company, it's kinda nice, he's blowing things up in the other room.

I boob-fed 2 kids for 13 months each and in between the little boob suckers, I lost 100#. Now I have size small C skin--can't even call them bresticles anymore--well maybe that would work because without a brazier, they hang like icicles :lol::lol:

So....I just vacuumed fer about the 9th time. <_< Yesterday I knocked over a thick glass candle holder that phell about 4 pheet onto a tile phloor. I completely swept and vaccumed yesterday but I'm still askeert to go barephoot.

The phunny part is that it was a knock on the door that made me jump up so quick in the phirst place--it was the UPS guy and I opened the door seconds after this awphul crash.....he had earphones on and was completely oblivious.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
