OMG... . . .... I've been reading along, larfing and remembering the whole world of IEPs and other school highlights. . ...but honestly, I cannot get me mind off Angela. Who IS this individual, this woman who, for whatever the reason, decides to post, worldwide, a detailed photo of her urine jug, all ready for laboratory processing. Who does this?? And.. . .WHY??

"Okay.. . ....I've got this 24-hour urine collection to do.. .... .. I think I need to share this... .....There are people, certainly, who would be fascinated to see my own assigned jug, with my name and particulars taped to the handle. Surely this should go beyond my friends on facebook - - I need to post this online so that ANYBODY can access it through google images..... .... there are people who may NEED to see this photo. All right, let's fix it so that anyone can find it via an "ORANGE URINE JUG" google search. .. . ." . . .

Who in hell IS this person?? .. . . . . . . .....

Methinks we need to find her, and get her into Psillyville. . . . .

if we find Angela, and she doesn't know her jug was posted on the Internet, and she lives in the US, she can make a lot of money off the lawsuit! Also, I think Canada & the UK have similar laws. Think we could get a finders fee?

actually, where did the photo come from? We really might be able to find her if it's real!

Gnick! Please post this again.... . .I canna see a photo! I MUST see what my fellow Commonwealthers utilize to collect urine. Here it's quite a good system - - large jug, easy to pour contents into, highly recognizable. .. .. . .... .

Man, I've just had a great idea. A North American Orange Urine Jug would be a FANTASTIC Hallowe'en costume..... . . .

Hmmm, yes, Angela. .. . .. . . .her last name is clearly visible on that tag. Nuttin' anonymous, here. Methinks I am going to carry out a search for her on FB, and then befriend her. I'll send a corresponding message, where I can casually ferret out the facts: whether in fact she knows that this urine photo is up for the world to see. "Hi, Angela.. . .I'd love to be your friend. I feel like I know you so well, as I've seen such intimate, telling things about you through google images. It would never occur to me to post such a subject matter in a photo - - suppose you divulge to me your reasons for doing this, as, actually, it is driving me a little out of my mind".. . . . ...

<snort> Em trying to locate Angela--could be good Psyllie material, that one ;)

I'm back at the boy's house till Wednesday....overseeing the installation of a back yard shed so he doesn't have to take time off work. :)

Busy weekend at the apartment--down to just a phew boxes (all Mark's stuph... <_< ). The man is a pack rat if I ever saw one

Holy crap.. . . ..canna believe how long it's been since anybody's posted! If everyone's been busy surviving through a surprise earthquake, I DO hope each of you assumed the position, prone with sippy cups, beside your bed or huge stack of paper. . . .. ...

To resume the Psilly dialogue, I will make the following important Royal Announcement: Can anybody guess what I am doing today, over the next twenty-four hours?

Why, THIS!!!!

Have found the name of the health care system. Angela is in Newfoundland or Labrador. When you say that around here, we think of dogs not places.

Also, looks like she was in the hospital. Doesn't it look like a hospital room and the jug is sitting on the table that goes accross the bed?

Can anyone see it clearer? Her birthdate is on the tag. 1944? fuzzy here.

kareng Grand Master

Where is everyone? I found Angela! On Facebook there is an Angela that lives in Newfoundland.

Send her a message toot sweet (is that the right term? Always pretend like I know what it means....). Let us know what she says!!

psawyer Proficient

"Toot sweet" is derived from "tout de suite," a French phrase which tranlates literally as "with all speed."

I messaged Angela on Facebook. I told her we chat on a website for people who share a disease and someone was doing a urine collection and that she posted that pic. I said we decided to see if we could find her on the book. I asked why she posted that pic. We will see if she has a sense of humor.

She has been dairy free for six years, so she’d already been dairy free for two years at her last testing and was dairy free for the entire gluten challenge this year as well (that had positive results). However, now that we’re doing another biopsy in six weeks, we decided to do everything we can to try to “see” the effects, so we decided this past week to add back in dairy temporarily for breakfast (milk and cereal combo like you said).

Hi Christiana, Many thanks for your response.  Interestingly, I too cannot eat wheat in France without feeling effects (much less than in the US, but won't indulge nonetheless).  I also understand children are screened for celiac in Italy prior to starting their education. Wise idea as it seems my grandson has the beginning symptoms (several celiacs in his dad's family), but parents continue to think he's just being difficult.  Argh.  There's a test I took that diagnosed gluten sensitivity in 2014 via Entero Labs, and am planning on having done again.  Truth be told, I'm hoping it's the bromine/additives/preservatives as I miss breads and pastas terribly when home here in the states!  Be well and here's to our guts healing ❤️

Lol that’s so true! Hope you get clarity, it’s tough when there’s doubt. There’s so much known about celiac disease with all the scientific research that’s been done so far yet practically and clinically there’s also so much unknown, still. Out of curiosity what’s her dairy consumption like? Even compared to early years to now? Has that changed? Calcium is dependent in the mechanism of antigen presenting cells in the gut. High calcium foods with gluten grains can initiate inflammation greater.  This is why breakfast cereals and milk combo long term can be a ticking time bomb for genetically susceptible celiacs (not a scientific statement by any means but my current personal opinion based on reasoning at present). Milk and wheat are the top culprits for food sensitivity. Especially in childhood. There are also patient cases of antibodies normalising in celiac children who had milk protein intolerance/ delayed type allergy. Some asymptomatic. There were a couple of cases of suspected celiacs that turned out to have milk protein intolerance that normalised antibodies on a gluten containing diet. Then there were others that only normalised antibodies once gluten and milk was eliminated. Milk kept the antibodies positive. Celiac disease is complicated to say the least.

And thank you for your encouragement. I am glad that her body is doing a good job fighting it. I also just want clarity for her moving forwards. She was only 6 for the last round of testing and she's 10 now, so I'm also hoping that makes a difference. It was weird during her last round of testing though, because right before her biopsy, we'd upped her gluten intake by giving her biscuits made from straight up vital wheat gluten, and her labs actually normalized slightly (lower ttg and her ema went negative). Bodies just do weird things sometimes! lol
    • deanna1ynne
The first negative biopsy in 2021 just said "no pathological change" for all the samples, and the second one in 2022 said "Duodenal mucosa with mild reactive change (focal foveolar metaplasia) and preserved villous architecture." So I think Marsh score 0 in both cases, though it's not actually written in the pathology reports. I'm really hoping to get a clear positive result this time, just for her sake.
