I'm pretty sure it's byow. That way there'll be no arguing over flour paste in casks. If you get glutened it's your own fault.

Oh! thank goodness! I didn't want to be responsible for all that glutening! Robert Mondavi is rolling over in his grave at the thought of flour in his wine!

Did they take attendance? I might have been here.

Well, for all of us who were absent, I do hope that everyone else has a note from their mothers. .. . . ...or doctors.

J had the cold that is going around for about 2 hours. Matt coughed about 5 times. I guess there is some benefit to our over vigilant immune systems.

Mark has it since last week. I'm still fighting it but the scratchy throat I woke up with doesn't bode well...

Well I hope none of you were at the party. We don't need the entire board - guests included - coming down with something.

jerseyangel Proficient

We had planned to go to South Jersey over the weekend, but didn't want to give Mark's cold to the kids. We called Matt Friday night to let him know.

Saturday morning I got an email from him saying he woke up with the start of a cold and he musta caught it over the phone. :P

I swear life doesn't slow down  Hub got back from business trip in sunny Orlando, where, for their opening welcome night, the had rented out all of Universal Studios, so he had a blast. I actually had a really good time with the kids and the new bunbun who is attached to me already (and I to him ;) ). I had a brunch at my house for my family Sunday morning and a Demarle dinner party Sunday evening. It was a lot of fun, but we didn't sell a whole lot... Oh well! Back to the grind this week

UGH!!dry.gif

Did I tell you guys we're FINALLY getting a new kitchen?? Complete remodel.

GAWD! That dust goes ALL over the house mad.gif

Congrats!!! And gooooooooood luck ;) Twas the worst 2 months of my life and I even have and extra kitchen!

Hello my dear psillies,

I am literally having the !@#$iest birthday of my life!!!!!!! Loey

Happy Birthday! I hope it got better.....

Holy hell.. . . . ..my ass in pancake batter?.. . . ......dunno how spiced up that would suddenly make my marriage.. ..,. . .must ask DH. Would one be using a mixmaster in this scenario? Spatula?.. . . .. . .. .I would need quite the frying pan, I fear... . . .... . <_<

Maybe brownie batter, chocolate ganasche.... something like that would probably be better than pancake batter

Ohmagaaaaaawwwwd... ...... . . . . .the changes, the changes. . .. ....all right, if Kherrighnne and I were running this joint (and K, you would be head banana and I second-in-command -- all hell would break loose if I were at the helm) there would be an unlimited number of emoticons per post (and more of them -- barf-man, glutened-looking face, PMS/menstrual-cramp-face, I'm-getting-my-colonoscopy-tomorrow-and-I'm-anything-but-stoked-visage).... . ...we would absolutely create a thread section where forum members are encouraged to be drunk whilst posting (a special section - - '''Celiacs who drink too much, and what they have to say".. . . .... . .perhaps we would need interpreters. We need to get all the mods "indisposed". Then we take over. I love the emoticons and the new drunk thread. Excellant ideas. I'm going out to get a pirate flag to fly after the mutiny.

No Chex in Canada? After we take over C.com we will have to work on that! Haaaaaa! Power!

Haven't heard about it but will keep my eye out and report. Do they have any other locations in the US?

Welcome to the forum, @Mmoc! Please include the reference ranges for the IGA and the TTG tests in your next post if you have access to them. We cannot comment much otherwise as different labs use different reference ranges for these tests and also different units of measurement. There are no universal standards as of yet so the raw test numbers are not always helpful. Having said that, if your IGA (what we usually call "total IGA") is low, the TTG-IGA score will be skewed and cannot be trusted. Other kinds of tests for celiac disease would need to be run, particularly those in the IGG family of tests. Perhaps this will be helpful:

Hi there any advice welcomed. I have had 4 years of symptoms ranging from immune related anaphylactic symptom sudden onset food allergy to peppers/paprika/chilli/capsicum family derivatives. all these allergies fizzled out and following a food challenge test in hospital I reintroduced them a few months ago. Since then my digestive system is a mess. i have since noticed that 4 years ago when testing for iga allergies my iga level was .62 and my ttg was less than .1 (due to symptoms I was probably eating very plainly at that time). should I insist on being retested for celiac? I’ve since read two indicators for celiac include: sensitive to spicy foods when in flare up tooth enamel weakness and symmetrical discolouration patches on teeth which I have had since childhood on my two front teeth     thanks

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
