We went to the lake this afternoon. Open Original Shared Link on Lake Ontario, in downtown Toronto. I have a new Open Original Shared Link and was playing around with it. I like it. We had a good afternoon.

Happy to see you enjoying your time off.

When I clicked on the camera link, I thought I was going to see your pics. :D

I'm sure it will be great, I love the oldies anyway! You'll have to let me know how The Springsteen show is! He's coming to Moncton, NB soon I think, which isn't far from me, I could catch it perhaps!

I find that we have to be online with Ticket Master before 10AM (when they open). Then you need to click at 10 to get a sales rep.. My son bought tickets for my DH and himself earlier this summer (I was sick and couldn't handle the trip). I had taken a bad fall down a flight of hard wood stairs 2 days before so DH wouldn't leave me alone. I tried to convince him I'd be fine but he didn't feel right about leaving me. Tony (my son) took a good friend and it turned out that his friend had never been to a concert (we're big concert goers -well we were until my DH lost his job). Out of all the concerts we've been to (Paul McCartney was one and Roger Waters doing The Wall, plus Paul Simon, Joan Osbourne and too many more to list ). Tony said that Bruce Springsteen was hands down the best. I'd check to see if tickets are on sale already by going to Springsteen's web site.

Let me know how your concert is. I grew up listening to all of those groups. When I was in college and after we use to go to all of the free concerts in Central Park.Peter Frampton, the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and many more that I can't remember I also was lucky enough to see Bangladesh.

A few weeks ago we saw the Daily Show with John Stewart. For anyone who lives near NYC the tickets are free. The guest was Dan Rather which was ironic because I used to work on his show (I worked at CBS as a videotape editor for 10 years).

Sending positive energy,

Loey

Bah. Doing chicken repair tonight. The pirate noticed blood drops on the deck, and after inspecting the flock he found the rooster (Seuss) was bleeding from his foot. I decided he wasn't going to bleed out in the next couple hours, and catching him would be more stressful, so I waited until dark and snagged him from the roost.

Not sure how it's going to play out. It looks like he caught his foot on something and ripped the skin, exposing the bone/tendon. I washed it and slathered it with antibiotic solution, and he's in a cat carrier in a dark room. I guess I just wait and see if it heals, or if we'll need to remove the toe (eeewwww).

The good thing is, the pirate just brought over a bunch of t-shirts that got stained in his clothes locker. We just got finished washing and sorting the ones that are too stained to wear, so the wee rooster is napping on fresh cotton. Seems like it's got to be more comfortable on an owie foot than pine shavings.

Tomorrow I'll move him to a big plastic bin so I can put food and water in.

I will check out ticketmaster and see, I think it's an outside concert so maybe I'll get lucky and there will still be tickets. ? I have to say, I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!!! The Allman Brothers and THE GRATEFUL DEAD!?!? Two of my favorites, I grew up with all of this music because my Dad listened to it, and I fell in love early on haha Now The Dead in Central Park, that would be awesome!! NYC is my favorite place to visit!

You can tell I'm an old lady by the groups I saw. There were so many more. My deceased husband and I spent one New Year's Eve at the Stardust Ballroom where the Kinks were performing. Dancing to their music when the year changed was a special memory for me. It was a small venue so you could talk to the group. He & I went to a lot of concerts when he was around. We both worked at CBS (and met there). We were both videotape editors but he was was a roadie.

My current DH and I love concerts and now our son does. Rob (referred to as Superman in this forum) is unemployed and relying on his savvy withe stock market but we're doing worse this week then last. I'm on disability but they just started taking $200 a month for Medicare and my gap insurance. I'm really lucky to qualify for medicare at my age. It's because I'm on disability. I'd be screwed without it because my husband's benefits run out in September and with all of my pre-existing conditions I wouldn't be accepted anywhere (or would pay ginormous rate).

Hugs, Loey

Well. Butch thought the cat-entertainment box was pretty cool, especially the fluffy feathers that came through the holes to be batted and pulled out. Until the box crowed. You shoulda seen that cat's face!:unsure::o:blink::o:blink::ph34r:   All at once.

As it turns out, sitting in a room with a crowing chicken is not a pleasant thing. I put the cat box outside, but that just made poor Seuss frantic to get to his girls, so I ended up letting him out. He hasn't stopped crowing. Guess I'll just have to check his toe every night when he goes to bed. :(

Yes and vice a versa. My kids mess up my texting by calling! Or I am calling them and they text me. I get confuded easily. :D

I hope you enjoy your concert. That does sound like a good lineup and what's better than free?I imagine Mike will do a tribute to Davy Jones. That was so sad sad.gif

The concert was great! We had lots of fun and I bet I was the youngest person there haha I liked all of the groups except Union Gap? I hadn't heard of them and it sort of felt like a bad Vegas show and Neil Diamond might walk out at any minute. ? but the lady sitting next to me was GOING NUTS for them haha I think they were her favorite part!

How is the fuzzy guy's foot today? I like hearing about the chickens. I never knew they could have so much personality. :D

Shhhhhhh! . . . don't tell my hubby, but chickens are included in my retirement plan  . . . along with a nice size property that needs to have one of those gator truck thingies to get around the property on. :)

I am SO frustrated! I inadvertently hit a key and lost a rather length reply mad.gif Anyway I'm glad you had a good time and want to hear all the details. You can IM them t me if you want. I promise to tell you all the details of the Boss' concert. I'm guessing we're in the nose bleed section, My son is 20 and very cautious about spending his money (but not ours). It was still a really sweet gesture. Karenggg- he's also started to call me ever week to se how I'n feeling,

Right now I have to focus on getting better (3 falls in 2 months) I have a a staph infection (thank God it's not MRSA) and an upper respiratory infection that could be pneumonia, My white blood count jumped from 12,000 to 30,00 and my lymphocytes are high. My oncologist isn';t one to do unnecessary tests ( the next would be a bone marrow biopsy).

Superman (DH) and I are trying to take day trips every weekend because it's so beautiful up here. Tomorrow it's a guided boat tour to the Thimble Islands in CT. I'm determined to enjoy living my life- not making my illnesses my identity. In other words time to get psillie again and spend more time on this board!

Hope all my psilies are doing well!

Lots of love wub.gifwub.gifwub.gif,

Loey

Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.

Hi @JulieRe.  I just found your post.  It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida.  I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment.  In the meantime, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor, doing a candida cleanse and taking vitamins. It's already helping to make me feel better (with some ups and downs, of course), so I do think the yeast is definitely a problem for me on top of my celiac disease and I'm hoping my GI doctor can look into this a bit further.  So, how about you?  Did the candida come back, or is it still gone following your fluconazole treatment?  Also, was it awful to take fluconazole?  I understand that taking an antifungal can cause a reaction that sometimes makes people feel sick while they're taking it.  I hope you're doing better still !

I'm so sorry you're going through this—the "gluten challenge" is notoriously brutal, and it's awful to deliberately make yourself sick when you've already found the answer. For the joint pain, many people find that over-the-counter anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can help take the edge off, and using heating pads or warm baths can provide some direct relief for the aches. For the digestive misery, stick to simple, easy-to-digest foods (like plain rice, bananas, and bone broth) and drink plenty of water and electrolytes to stay hydrated. It feels like the longest month ever, but you are doing the right thing to get a clear diagnosis, which can be crucial for your long-term health and getting the proper care. Hang in there; you can get through this! This article, and the comments below it, may be helpful:

Daura Damm (a sponsor here) uses AN-PEP enzymes and filtering in their brewing process to reduce/remove gluten, and it actually tests below 10ppm (I've see a document where they claim 5ppm).
