What is she putting you on the Pill for? Docs like it because it makes you "regular" but it doesn't .... it just makes you stop ovulating (most months). I wouldn't do it ... no way.

Susan,

Sorry about the hair

Carla, plug your ears. OK, tomorrow morning I'm gettting my hair *trimmed*. I was not satisfied with the last cut I got several weeks ago and don't want to continue growing it out until the shape is right. It's somehow fuller on one side, and I swear, longer. it's driving me nuts!

What is it with us and our collective hair???

Celia,

I love Grey's too! I think it's been really good so far. Will be watching tonight...

There's nothing wrong with a trim! You can't grow out unhealthy hair!! My stylist gave me a good trim last time because the layers needed adjusting ... you know how they're just wrong as the get longer? So, she said she cut an inch, but it looks like more to me ... :( But it looks so much healthier.

Ive been thinking of chaning my hair style for the first time since the late 80's..... any suggestions? Seemslike a good thread to ask in LOL

I'm also going to a different salon--one that I've heard very good things about. I just think it's time for a change. I'm actually kind of excited! I don't know if it's the cut, or it's just growing "funny". Either way, I only want the bare minimum taken off! B)

Susan,

It's always hard to live with haircuts we don't like.....but it will grow out.

I second Carla.....what's with the Pill? How is that supposed to help? Have you been irregular? Soy can make you irregular....don't know if you eat it though.

Vincent,

How bout take a couple inches off......maybe even 6. :o

Is our forty something women turning into a forty something women and men?

Vincent--Since you *asked*...I looked at your picture again, and did a search for the hairstyle that I thought would look good on you. I found this--

I think it would look really good--don't hit me

CarlaB Enthusiast

Vincent, since you like long hair, why not just cut off about 6 inches like Andrea said, then start growing the front a little longer, over the ears, but you can brush it back, then eventually get it cut in a long, non-mullet, something like Steve's but it will look different on you because of the texture of your hair.

Run it by your wife though ...

She was JUST KIDDING!!!! We HAVE to give men a hard time when they come here ....

I PM'd Vincent to come back and check out the new 'do! I figure, if you're gonna get it cut, go all the way :D

Home again, and have alot of catching up to do. This place has been busy.

New hair style for Vincent?

Without saying more, I will catch-up this weekend.

Ursa Major Collaborator

Susan, I agree, do NOT go on the pill, it will not help, seriously. It will only mess you up more.

Vincent, I think you would look awsome with that suggested style. Go for REALLY different, no half-hearted decisions allowed if you decide to come here!

WHAT??? it's to make me regular and eliminate PMS symptoms???? you mean this wont' work (now this discussion should scare off the men)

The Pill is bad news. There are three ways it works as far as for contraception 1. Prevents ovulation 2. Makes cervical mucus too thick for sperm to migrate 3. Prevents implantation of a fertilized egg

So, it messes up your hormones, but you will bleed every 28 days like clockwork. The thing is, that's just a mental thing for you, you actually could just keep taking it and only have a period say, every six months. It does not regulate your normal cycle. The only reason it may help with PMS is because you aren't actually cycling.

Your are better off supplementing to support your cycle. There are things you can do nutritionally to help with PMS. Many times it's a luteal phase deficiency ... but this is too much for a message board ... I did a search on PMS luteal phase, and got this website, I did not look around much, but it looks pretty good. www.cyclediet.com.

I know a female ob/gyn, and she loves having her patients all on the Pill. I never understood that. It helps with one type of cancer, but causes breast cancer ...

AndreaB Contributor

Hi Lisa,

Glad you got home safely. :)

Vincent, I see you, you're back just in time for some real girl talk!!!:lol:

VydorScope Proficient

OKya I have a cofession about my hair... Im not happy with it..

See when I lived in Vegas I had an awsome stylist (not cheap! ) and she did a great job on both my and my wifes hair.... then we moved to Nashville and after living here 6 years still cant find anyone that does a decnet job... so my hair in the back is a mess. Its like 15 layers. Some of it is like 6 inchs long, and some goes 1/2 way down my back. I think every hair stylisit I have been to cut a dif part or somthing.

SO I realy dunno what to do about it. I was thinking trimming the back back some and trying to gow the top out till its all one lenght ... then I would have someplace to work from.

Vincent, I see you, you're back just in time for some real girl talk!!!:lol:

Periods, flows, the pill, tampons, what ever... I do not have much personal experence odviously, but they dont embrass/scare me :P

Besides... scroll back... I already posted a ouples times :P

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
