Has anyone else heard this? Our local distributor just told us that Busch is marketing a brand new sorghum beer as gluten free!!! I don't have any real information on it, they said it's not out yet. Anyone know anything???

There was some discussion here many months ago. Obviously, it generated great excitement.

I never liked beer before my dx (lucky me) so did not pay too much attention.

I do hope so for all those that miss it.

i just tried a gluten-free beer that is "Toleration" brand. It is from England. I had never had beer before, since I was diagnosed at the age of 13. I payed $7.99 for a bottle (it was a really big bottle). It tasted terible! I drank the whole thing though since I payed so much for it. I had my B-F try and he said that is how beer tastes. So I think it's official I don't like beer. LOL

Beer is definitely an acquired taste. I hated it for many years. I only recently acquired a taste for it.

Apparently it's called Redbridge, and is not supposed to hit the shelves until Jan '07, but anyone who gets it earlier, let us know how it goes!

Hopefully this will go national and bars/nightclubs will begin to stock this product by A-B - let alone all the other channels such as grocery/liquor stores!!!

Really? gluten-free beer in the supermarket? Hmmmm, I haven't had a beer in 2 years. I actually don't know if I want to start....all those calories, and in the state I live in you have to go to a state-run store to get any beer that's over 3.2 % alcohol. Sigh. Although if they come out with it I'm sure I'll give it a try. It would be nice to be able to have a beer with hubby every now and then!

sorghum beer sounds nasty, though.

however, there might certainly be situations where sorghum beer is better than no beer! ;)

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

another good gluten-free "beverage" is woodchuck cider. especially if you don't like the beer taste, which i don't. even the boyfriend (aka miller lite man) likes it. i can get it at the liquor store here in arkansas, so i think it shouldn't be too hard to come by.

Sorghum beer is actually excellent. It tastes exactly like "real" beer. In Pennsylvania we can only get beer in a beer distributor. They can't sell it in gas stations and supermarkets here. It's well worth the special trip though. Bard's Tale Beer is sorghum also and it is fabulous. Tomorrow's the big day when they're supposedly getting the Red Bridge in. I'll be sure to check in! :)

The shipment to our distributor is delayed. Their hoping to take delivery of the Red Bridge on Friday, but they're not positive. :(

The beer distributor here stopped selling the gluten-free beers--- don't know why.......

Don't expect anything you've ever tasted before with the cider. It's an acquired taste. I hated it the first few times I drank it. I still don't like it very much, but it's better than nothing when you're at a party or something. The Bard's Tale is phenomenal. I love it! I was never much of a beer drinker before dx, but I LOVE my Bard's Tale.

I liken the cider flavor to champagne. Like you said, it's NOT beer! I'm interested to try this new beer.

No wonder I like it. I've only had it a couple times, but both times I thought it was good.

I'm really not a drinker but since you all were talking about the beer I had Bard's Tale with my pizza tonite!!! It was good & I enjoyed it. It's funny how in my gluten days I never drank much either but for some reason now being gluten-free I needed that security blanket--- go figure. My hubby just laughs at me..... We make homemade wine (about ten varieties)& I only take a sip of it & it's available all the time...I cook withit though.....Now, I'll have to wait before I can buy more .......

Happy Drinking!!!!!

Or to me a wine cooler....anyway, they are much lighter in taste than beer, but not watery like cheap beer. I've had the Woodchuck Cider, whatever the "regular" one is, and the Pear. I prefer the pear...yum!

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
