These are my favorite Friday, Happy Hour drink. Are they safe to drink? I"m just beginning and not quite sure about this. I know I read wine is usually ok. TIA!

I've never had a problem with them. I know that Jose Cuervo mix is safe. I tend to not go all fancy with them, I stick to the standard flavor, a little wary of the super-crazy ones. I do make them at home sometimes, but I use frozen fruit instead of mix.

I forgot to say, I've never had a bartender not let me read ingredients on a bottle either. If you're frequenting the same place, just ask to read thier mix.

I read the bottle at the bar once and their margarita's had wheat ... so read the label at the bar you are going to .... don't assume it's gluten-free! Some are, some aren't. My question is, why would my margarita need wheat anyway?????

You'll just have to ask to see the ingredients...just like any food product, they can all be the same end result (i.e., margarita) but different ingredients. But, usually they are safe. Still, worth asking.

I had asked Jose Cuervo about the gluten-free status of their margarita mix that does NOT include alcohol already, and was told it was NOT gluten-free. This is the e-mail I received in November 2006: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding glutens in beverage

alcohol products, specifically Jose Cuervo.

Unfortunately, our Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix's are not gluten free. We

apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Per the FAQ section of their web site, the following products are gluten free: Q: Which Jose Cuervo products are gluten-free? A: All Jose Cuervo tequilas, Authentic Cuervo Margaritas, Margarita Minis, and Golden Margaritas are gluten-free.

I tried to probe why the mixes were not gluten free, even though the mixes plus alcohol were gluten free, and didn't get anywhere so I gave up. I was, however, told by a rep that Master of Mixes margarita mixes were gluten free.

Wow, good to know. My info is from April or so, and they said it was gluten-free. Thank you for that info.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
