i am kinda new to this... so if you don't have the skin form of this disease... then are you less likely to have to watch your shampoos and lotions?? i have been using my same shampoo and lotion and maybe thats why i'm still sick... is there a list of mainstream shampoos and such that are safe??

While you may be less likely to notice a glutening from skin/hair care products, internal damage would still be occurring AFAIK. As for a list of mainstream gluten-free products, I believe the member named NoGluGirl has one, which a search would hopefully turn up.

<EDIT>

Here's a post with the list I was referring to:

I use Dove shampoo, conditioner and styling gel, and the horrible itchiness I used to get on my scalp is usually gone now (and I don't think I have DH).

No. The reason is simple, if your lotion has gluten in it, and you put it on your hands, then you pick up a gluten-free food item... you see where this is going? You just added gluten to your gluten-free food. Same with shampoo. Its well know that you never get it all out of your hair, so during the day if you ever touch your gluten covered hair, then food, bam! Glutened again. 1001 other ways these could be a problem... thats just to give you an idea.

You want EVERYTHING to be gluten free. No exceptions, ever.

Yep, you've got to wash your hands.

The best thing to do is to get into the habit of washing your hands before you eat or put them anywhere near your mouth.

      It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

      Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

      That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

      Same day which is strange to me.

      Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
