Ok, here are my reviews for the first three categories of the Buff Category:

Overall there isn't much difference in the shades, but a lot of variety in how pink/orange/yellow they are.

Sandy Fair: tending more yellow than pink, this is the best match for me.

Sunkissed Fair: more pink than multitasking! Doesn't match my neck at all... although I can't see the powder when it goes on.

Fairly Light: an almost orange undertone.

Happy Birthday to your daughter. Hope all goes well in court today.

Thanks she thinks she is the princess and keeps telling me everything i have to buy her today lol. I love 5 year olds lol

I never posted my critique on the things that look q-tips. They are awesome for liner. Im not sure about for eye shadow tho cause they are kinda hard, but didnt have that much time to play around with them, i think they will be perfect do put your eye shadow on wet.

I love my new flat top brush i think that is what made my foundation look so great today.

Im going to order another one lol when the new website goes up.

Ok this thread is starting to scare me, it seems i talk to myself alot lol. COme on everyone talk about makeup again lol.

I just wanted to say i love the spring concelor, im thinking i might use it as my foundation instead of concelor cause ti matches my face perfectly and it is very pretty.

I got sompliments last night at my ss baseball game from people i havent seen in years. They said my makeup was so prety and wanted to know what kind it was, one was going straight home to check out the website lol

Are you using the buds to apply your liner, or to smudge it once it's on? I love the EM eyeliner brush since it gives such a fine line, but sometimes it's nice to do a little smudge thing.

I tried birthday cake for the first time today. It's a really pretty matte baby pink. It looks great as a base under snowflakes. I also used cookie sheet blush as a lip color today, and it's really nice. Very subtle and a nice rose color.

I now have several empty jars from the sample colors I have used up. They seem to good to throw away. Are you ladies reusing them for mixing or are you pitching them? Maybe if I throw them away I will have more room in my caboodles box and can order more EM.

re: silk dust - so many people over on the EM site are complaining about how gritty it is. I have tried the regular silk dust and the tinted one. Neither one feels gritty to me at all. Am I clueless?

I want the new website. I want new eyeshadow colors. <_<

My silk dust isn't gritty either. I think complaining about the grittiness of the silk dust is just kind of the cool thing to do over at the EM site.:lol: Some people have even said they use it as a face scrub.

I ordered again today. I was so afraid they might discontinue my favorites, that I got a full-sized kit just ordering my favorites. So I ordered full sizes of:

Pink Ribbon

Nick Nack

DVR Saturday

Ping Pong

Ginger Peach

Samba Lessons

and a new one for me: Silk Dust

Oh, and of course another sample kit. :P

I'm getting the silk dust to add to other things to sort of "dilute" the color and perhaps add a bit of shine control.

My new product for the day is Peach Color Corrector. I used it as a concealor and it worked just fine. Still, nothing quite replaces Sunlight in my heart. :P

Colleen - I've tried the tinted silk dust and the summer silk dust. I did think the summer silk dust was slightly grainy when I first used it, but not enough to bother me or not use it (well, except the color is too bold for me, lol). I used tinted silk dust this morning all over my face, including my eyes, and I didn't find it to be grainy. I ordered the plain silk dust this morning, so I'll see when that arrives.

I haven't reused my sample jars yet...in fact just threw out a couple yesterday. But I may use them to create some of my odd mixtures, lol.

Jestgar Rising Star

today my look is 'innocence'

no liner

very light blush - corner office

very light morocco on eyes, crease only

pink tinted finishing powder

kinda like it after the sultry, way over lined eyes i've been doing lately

need to keep them off balance at work :)

dlp252 Apprentice

Always good to keep people off balance!

Good grief!!!! My order shipped already. Good golly it's only been a couple of hours since I hit submit, lol. Those little ladies with the giant screens are working overtime today. :P

Green12 Enthusiast

Well I have to go downtown today, figured I should break out the make-up

I tried Original Glo formulation today and I LOVE it! I think it's my favorite so far (after trying Intensive and Semi matte)

I used my flat top brush to apply the foundation instead of my kabuki for a switch, I think I like the kabuki for foundation better though personally.

I used Apple for blush.

On my eyes I have Ginger Peach, Cypress and some brown and green pencil liners that I already had, then brown mascara.

Lip gloss on the lips.

***Poll***

Are you using your flat top brush or your kabuki brush for foundation application, or another brush??

Healthy Girl Explorer

juliem:

I have been debating about the original glo....what kind of skin do you have? I have a combo skin, and I usually go semi-matte. i find the matte and intensive look powdery, and sometimes I get a couple flakes.

I am holding off to order a full kit...I hope the next special/new website will be coming soon!!

I use a Lola foundation brush. I use it because I apply my foundation wet and it works great for wet foundation.

Hello ladies!

I'm going to place a new order tomorrow...I wish I had ordered with the last special, but it ended early, and I didn't have the money before then...bah! But tomorrow I can order again, yay! I'm excited for the new lip color...I am only using Cherry Fizz right now, I ended up giving my friend, who is now also addicted to EM thanks to me, my tube of Spring Pink...it just didn't look right on me. I do believe that Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush lip gloss is gluten-free, and I tried that on Saturday night and loved it....just hate the stickiness of lip gloss like that.

So a few questions....

I want to order one of Everyday Everywhere scents, but I'm not sure which one. Are they very strongly scented with the main scent? I'm torn between the Green Tea and the Lavender. OK, and maybe the Chamomile too lol. The horsetail, I'm not sure of the scent of that?

I was a bad girl on Saturday and when we went out to celebrate St. Patty's Day, I wore some sparkly green Mark eyeshadow that I used to love....well, I discovered a few hours later (and into the next day) that the reason my eyes used to feel so swollen and itchy was from "normal" eye makeup! I haven't even put makeup on since then, my eyes have been so bad...they're finally better today. It's crazy how your body reacts to things, and you don't even realize it until you're not using or eating those things for awhile, then get a little bit of them. So anyway, my point to all of this...I need a green shadow! I'm torn between getting the Emerald eye liner and using it as shadow or the Cypress shadow. I want something dark and intense, like the liner, but also want sparkle, like the shadow. Does anyone have these, and how are they? Maybe I should just get both and mix them....

I got a big jar of All Smiles the last time, and I hate the color on me....VERY orange. I ended up giving it to my beautifully dark-skinned Puerto Rican friend, and it looks great on her.

I think Multi Tasking Neutral is my foundation color.....I've been using the concealer in that too, and the blend so perfectly with my skintone right now. But summer is coming, I'll have to play all over again!!! I have that in a big jar now in OG, so I'm going to try the other types.

So here's my order, so far lol...this might change a few times before I finally order tomorrow!

Oh and Julie, I have a flat top brush that I use for my foundation and finishing dust. I sometimes think it puts the foundation on too heavily. I'd really like to get the long handled kabuki. I use a cheapy version of that for my blush, and I hate it because it's a crappy brush.

I loooove the flat top

I'm using the medium handle kabuki! I have the flat top in my cart though.

I really like the Original Glo formulation, I think.

AMY

Hi Amy :)

I have combo skin, it really tends to be towards the dry side but I get oil in the t-zone areas.

When I tried Intensive it really made me flake, Semi Matte was a little better but I just love how Original Glo felt today, and it's felt great ALL day. Even now at the end of the day I don't feel blotchy, or oil build up anywhere.

I read on the boards some people with combo skin apply Original Glo all over and then dust Matte or Semi Matte over the t-zone areas, or areas that tend to get oily during the day.

Great order!

I don't know about the eye salves/creams, maybe the other gals can help you out with that.

Yikes about your eyes reacting! Glad they are better now though :)

About the greens, I have both Emerald and Cypress. I haven't experimented much with Emerald yet but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cypress. I wore it today as an upper lash liner and it's a dark rich green, which I love. It might have the intensity you are looking for. Sorry I can't give more feedback on the Emerald

I was kind of thinking that too, that the flat top gave a heavier application.

 on your crappy brush. I hope you find a good one, I am covinced that the quality of the brush makes a big difference.

I've never tried the kabuki, but I REALLY want one! :P

Don't you still have your kabuki from Bare Minerals?

So it sounds like the flat top brush has won by a slim margin :lol:

HeartofGlass224 Rookie

Thanks for the input, Julie! I think I might just try to figure out which shadow I can remove and get both. I never wore greens until just before I was diagnosed, and I want to be able to again! Maybe I'll skin the creams this time...I want to order so Iget my new stuff! LOL

Mango04 Enthusiast

Ah, yes. I forgot about that kabuki.....the kabuki made of needles and straw

Nope, I no longer have it. It has been officially retired.

Has anyone had refractory celiac type 2 for very long I have had refractory celiac type 2 for 11 years now and consider myself lucky to be alive.

Reading labels at dailymed.com is simpler if you’re familiar w/ gluten-free list of inert ingredients (aka ‘excipients’  allowed by FDA.      www.gluten-free.com has that list & I’ve included It’s below…. Tricky ones for me are the “4 D’s“ because names are similar. These 2 are gluten-free by ‘legal’ definition— •Dextrans - Partially hydrolyzed corn or potato starch. •Dextrose - Powdered corn starch. Other 2 need to be questioned. (Maybe ok for isolated 7-10 day Rx,   antibiotic?,  but gluten-free status needs to be verified for long term / daily use for chronic condition, like thyroid or BP meds.)   These are : •Dextrates - Mix of sugars resulting from the controlled enzymatic hydrolysis of starch. •Dextrins - Result from the hydrolysis of starch by heat or hydrochloric acid (from corn).  It can also be obtained from wheat, rice or tapioca.  (Maltodextrin on US labels MUST be corn so gluten-free.) Technically, ‘Starch’ on USDA ‘food’ labels in US must be from corn, & if not, the source must be identified.   In drugs,‘ Pregelatinized starch’ & ‘Sodium starch glycolate’ can also be from potato, rice, OR wheat.  Wheat is more likely to be found in products made outside of US (Europe) where corn is not the major(readily available & least costly) crop.     Hope this helps even though  learning sources of some gluten-free ones may make them less appealing. (And while the “Read every label, every time” for gluten is a pain, I’ve learned there are worse things than celiac dx—Allergy to corn would be at top on my list!)          Bev in Milwaukee From www.gluten-free.com EXCIPIENT INGREDIENTS IN MEDICATIONS  Aspartame - An artificial sweetening agent derived from aspartic acid. Aspartic Acid - A crystalline amino acid found naturally in sugar beets and sugar cane.  Benzyl alcohol - Made synthetically from benzyl chloride which is derived from toluene (a tar oil). Cellulose - (ethylcellulose, methylcellulose, hydroxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropyl, microcrystalline) – Obtained from fibrous plant material (woody pulp or chemical cotton). Cetyl alcohol - Derived from a fat source (spermaceti, which is a waxy substance from the head of the sperm whale). Croscarmellose sodium - An internally cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose for use as a disintegrant in pharmaceutical formulations.  Comes from wood pulp or cotton fibers to form carboxymethylcellulose.  It contains no sugar or starch. Dextrans - Partially hydrolyzed corn or potato starch. Dextrates - Mix of sugars resulting from the controlled enzymatic hydrolysis of starch. Dextrins - Result from the hydrolysis of starch by heat or hydrochloric acid (from corn).  It can also be obtained from wheat, rice or tapioca. Dextrose - Powdered corn starch. Fructose - Obtained naturally from fruits or honey; hydrolyzed cane or beet sugar. Gelatin - Obtained from the skin, white connective and bones of animals (by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, bones, etc with water). Glycerin - Historically, glycerin (also known as glycerol), was made the following ways: -  Saponification (a type of chemical process) of fats and oils in the manufacturing of soaps -  Hydrolysis of fats and oils through pressure and superheated steam -  Fermentation of beet sugar molasses in the presence of large amounts of sodium sulfite   Today its is made mostly from propylene (a petroleum product) Glycerols - Obtained from fats and oils as byproducts in the manufacture of soaps and fatty acids (may also be listed as mono-glycerides or di-glycerides). Glycols - Products of ethylene oxide gas. Hypromellose – A brand of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (see cellulose). Iron oxide (rust) - Used as a coloring agent. Kaolin - A clay-like substance. Lactilol - Lactose derivative; a sugar alcohol. Lactose - Also known as milk sugar, is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a filler or binder for the manufacture of coated pills and tablets.   Commercially produced from cow's milk. Maltodextrins - A starch hydrolysate that is obtained from corn in the United States but can also be extracted from wheat, potato or rice. Mannitol - Derived from monosaccharides (glucose or mannose). Methyl Paraben – Comes from the combination of denatured wood alcohol and benzoic acid (benzoic acid occurs naturally in cherry bark, raspberries, tea, anise and cassia bark).  Polysorbates - Chemically altered sorbitol (a sugar alcohol).
