My view new posts button appears to have dissapeared, which is weirding me out a little bit, because that's how I navigate the site! Is this happening to everyone? Mods, do you know anything? Please tell me it isn't permanent!

Same here. I'd hate that to be gone forever!

Work in Progress....

Not sure what's going on, but some mods have "veiw new posts" in a new location (upper left) and other (as in me) don't have it at all.

Give it some time and perhaps it will work out....I hope. It leaves me dead in the water.

Mine is there - but hidden behind the right side of the forum (to the very right of my assistant/my friends/new messages) I can see some letters - clicked on it, and it brought me to "view new posts" page. But its certainly not where it should be.

Darn210 Enthusiast

I have M C ( for MyControls) and N P (for New Posts) vertically on the right side of the white part of the screen . . . like it ran out of room. When I click on N P, I get the new posts.

Scott Adams Grand Master

The "new new posts" button should still be there for everyone...it may have moved slightly due to an updated layout change, but I can see it.

Take care,

Scott

Scott - mine still looks like this, and I have cleared/refreshed/etc.

WHAT new post button? I have never ever ever seen a "new post button."

Directly to the right of a bolded "My Controls" it says "View New Posts" and by hovering my mouse over those words I discovered it is a live link, which no one would ever guess by just looking at it.

But this is not a change from my first day on the forum. It has never been any other way. I am flabbergasted that everyone else seems to have "buttons." :o:huh::blink:

I don't know why anybody says there are actual buttons there, because there aren't. But all those things on that bar are links, and always have been. Knowing a little about programming, it was obvious to me from the beginning that those were links, but I suppose for someone who has never done any programming, it might not be so obvious.

And somehow I never did see those changes people are talking about. Maybe I was just not around when the problems occurred!

I was wondering the same thing. I use the "view new posts" link all the time and doesn't appear to have changed for me (I use IE 7, different browsers can make a difference). I've never seen a button.

Since this might just be jargon, a button to me means something that you click, usually outlined with a box and perhaps a graphic. For example, while creating this, I have links at the top and I can actually select and copy the text. I also have an "Add Reply" button that I can't select and copy the text from.

There are no "buttons" - just links.

Last night when some members were having board format issues, I sent Scott a snapshot of what my board view was, since it seemed to mirror some of problems that others were having, as well. Within about five minutes, he had resolved the issue.

Three cheers to Laura!!! :lol::lol::lol:

I just couldn't convince Scott that I had no "buttons"

Maybe your screen looks different than mine, but to me "obvious links" are blue and underlined as in the two AdSense ads near the top of the page. What I see is neither blue nor underlined. All I have is plain charcoal text that looks no different in any way other than maybe a slightly different font from what I am typing right now before I get fancy and change the font color to indigo.

I didn't see any of this happening either because I was at work. :P

The reason it was obvious those are links is, that there would be no other reason for the bar saying things like, 'My Blog", My Controls" etc. And most links won't be underlined until you hover your mouse pointer over them.

He is not just a psychiatrist.  He is also a neuroscientist.  And yes, I have already read those studies.   I agree with benfotiamine.  This is short term while glutened/inflammation occurs.  As I had already mentioned, these symptoms no longer exist when this phase passes.  And yes, I know that celiac is a disease of malnutrition.  We are working with a naturopath.

Please do more research before you settle on nicotine. Dr. Paul New house is a psychiatrist.  His latest study involves the effect of nicotine patches on Late Life Depression which has reached no long term conclusions about the benefits.   Effects of open-label transdermal nicotine antidepressant augmentation on affective symptoms and executive function in late-life depression https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39009312/   I'm approaching the subject from the Microbiologist's point of view which shows nicotine blocks Thiamine B1 uptake and usage:   Chronic Nicotine Exposure In Vivo and In Vitro Inhibits Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) Uptake by Pancreatic Acinar Cells https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26633299/   While supplementation with thiamine in the form Benfotiamine can protect from damage done by  nicotine: Benfotiamine attenuates nicotine and uric acid-induced vascular endothelial dysfunction in the rat https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18951979/   I suggest you study the beneficial effects of Thiamine (Benfotiamine and TTFD) on the body and mental health done by Dr. Derrick Lonsdale and Dr. Chandler Marrs.  Dr. Lonsdale had studied thiamine over fifty years.   Hiding in Plain Sight: Modern Thiamine Deficiency https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/ I suggest you read their book Thiamine Deficiency Disease, Dysautonomia, and High Calorie Malnutrition.     Celiac Disease is a disease of malabsorption causing malnutrition.  Thiamine and benfotiamine: Focus on their therapeutic potential https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10682628/

Thanks for your response.  Everything you mentioned he is and has been doing.  Tobacco is not the same as nicotine.  Nicotine, in the form of a patch, does not cause gastrointestinal irritation.  Smoking does. He is not smoking.  Please do your research before stating false information. Dr. Paul Newhouse has been doing research on nicotine the last 40 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.
