Taco Bell-my 12 yr. old's favorite fast food place. I get 2 bean tostatas and rice. I have never had a reaction.

I would think that every Mexican Restaurant is a little different. I have used my Truiumph Dining Cards in Spanish and the staff was very helpful. I would speak to the manager during off times and you can go over the menu.

One of the Mexican restaurants around here offers a gluten-free menu. On it are things like tacos w/ soft corn tortillas (my favorite are the halibut tacos), tostadas, fajitas and salads. Always have them check though; this restaurant offers "gluten free beans" since the brand they use regularly has gluten in it.

Does anyone know if the rice is generally gluten-free?

I really need to get those cards. Even using them, I am dreading having to explain the whole thing. It's so awkward.

You really have to ask about the rice at any restaurant. It's not gluten-free in more places than you think. It's hit or miss at a Mexican restaurant.

I used to go through the whole routine of asking about the chile con carne, and the beef seasoning etc. Too much trouble for the dismal results, I've only found one restaraunt that doesn't use flour in the chile con carne sauce, so my cheese enchiladas are out.

Now I dispense with all that and just order bean & cheese nachos. I fully realize there is a chance of cc with the corn nacho chips possibly being fried in the same oil as flour items. But I consider that a very minor risk (for me). Haven't had a problem yet. Now the bean issue may be a potential problem. I hadn't ever thought about that as a gluten item.

I'm starting to think the tequila counteracts cc. :D

best regards, lm

That is great! Thanks! I noticed on the English version that it doesn't state the danger in spices and stuff like that. Is that something you also have to tell them?

If I know and trust the restaurant I'll get seasonings but if it's an unfamiliar place or one that just doesn't give me the warm fuzzy I will order everything plain just to be safe. I get really sick and am very sensitive so I tend to error on the side of caution when eating out.

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.
