Just curious what you all dairy free fellow gluten-free'ers pour on your morning cereal that is gluten-free?

Which is the best tasting?

I ate my cereal dry with a side glass of OJ for the first year when I learned I was allergic to milk. Then I was used to soy milk enough to add it to my cereal. I really prefer the soy on a hot cereal like grits though.

Depends on the cereal, really. The best all around bet to me is unsweetened almond milk.

I use almond milk too. And I love it on warm brown rice, with a chopped up banana, some nuts, some sesame seeds, some cinnamon, and some pure maple syrup!!! and sometimes raisins! I eat this instead of cereal. I'm going to try quinoa and see if that's any good this way.

I sometimes drink Ensure when I can't find meal options. The new dark chocolate is to die for.

I really like Almond Breeze vanilla for cereal.

I like Wegmans Rice Milk and for drinking chocolate Hemp milk.

Loved the unsweetened almond milk but it had enough soy lethicin (sp?) to upset my digestion. I really like making my own almond milk when I can find unsalted almonds. Westsoy rice milk is cheap and easy to find. I just don't like that rice milk on cereal is just carbs on carbs, bad for my sugar. But when everyone else around here is eating ice cream, I have cereal.

I don't drink any kind of milk. It's to expensive and I don't need to extra calories. I drink a couple onces of juice in a huge glass of water. And I take vitamin D and calcium in the morning with my coffee.

Hope this helps,

RA

I use rice milk (trader joe's unsweetened). On cereal and in baking. I don't drink straight from a glass but I could. It's ok if I need to take medicine or something. My parents like almond milk (and not the rice) but I haven't tried.

for baking we like coconut milk

For what it's worth, Pacific brand almond milk is the only brand I've seen that does NOT contain soy lecithin. (Although they did go back and forth with this, I'm pretty sure it's now soy-free again.)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
