Taste Of The Wild Recall

Diamond Company that makes Taste of the Wild pet food has a recall because of salmonella risk. Figured I would post this in case anyone else feeds their pets this brand. I'll have to go on a hunt for some that isn't recalled tomorrow since that is all Maggie eats. Wish me luck. The package codes recalled are at this link.

I will pass this on to friends who may use this brand.

I hope you find a replacement food for Maggie, hon!

I've been feeding it to my dog for the past few weeks - month? I tossed the bag a long time ago.

So far we haven't died. Hmmm....

I own a retail store in this business. The information ravenwoodglass posted a link to is accurate. The recall is confined to two of the three lines in Diamond's plant.

Thanks Peter I was trying to find the other brands, as NC was listed in the distribution.

I did not see Iams. So, I guess we're ok.

What they said on our news tonight was that humans were getting sick from handling the food. I guess they weren't washing thier hands well after?

Still, wouldn't want to feed it to your pet.

Yup, I agree. I religiously wash my hands after feeding the Rudder Girl. But would not want her to eat any "tainted" food of whatever.

Since I dump my dog food in a can (and toss the bag) I'm going to have to clean the can. Sounds like soap and water should do it, let it dry in the sun...maybe a bleach rinse (sanitizer). Open Original Shared Link

No one has symptoms. I guess I should alert the neighbors since their dog jumped the fence, came in the house, and ate bowls of the food.

Ugh. At least I'm at the bottom of the can... Would you believe it's the first time I bought it???

Geez, I'm going to have to mop. The whole first floor is his food mat.

Yes, I'm saying bad words.....

Procter & Gamble have their own manufacturing facilities and do not use contractors to make kibble.

We just finished off a bag and opened a new one last night. I got realy scared when I saw this post! :o

We lost a wonderful dog to the tainted with melamine food a few years ago.

I checked both bags and they are safe. :D

Doesn't Costco sell Taste of the Wild? I can't remember if it's labeled under another name though.

Some Kirkland Signature products are made by Diamond Pet Foods, but I do not believe the products are the same as TOTW. I don't have details, and the link I provided does not mention brands that Pet Valu does not sell.

It's definitely not Kirkland branded and I've only seen it at the Costco's here in CA. I looked it up and it's called "Nature's Domain" and reading Jess's link and it looks like it is TOTW: Open Original Shared Link

And I was going tomorrow to buy a bag!

FYI, according to Pet Club here in Tucson the affected facility was in the Carolina's - the food this Pet Club sells comes from CA and wasn't part of the recall.

So, that explains why we aren't dead (since the dog spreads it all over the house and I'd tossed the bag).

Only the plant in Gaston, SC, was affected, and only two production lines in that plant.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
