That's better! Somebody tell a funny! I'll go first.

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint

pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a

decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater,

on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300°C.

The Russians used a pencil.

Is there a rule against moving the kitty in your house?

kitty on lap here too...she always hops onboard right when I am about to get up -- great reason to make the men get things for me ;)

Did someone say snow :D -- on my walk yesterday I listened to my go to album when I need motivation for another dozen runs -- must add snow to activity very soon - pleez

Nope never had one before, but I have LOTS of fillings. Over 20... lost count along the way.I cna tell you every one of they was an extremely painful process to get done.

I brush/floss every day now... but when I was a teenager I could not be bothered and was haphazard with it, so i think I am paying for that now. All I know is right now my tooth REALLY hurts. The whole side of my face does, and even my temple feels tender. Grrr.

I missed the call from the doc office yesterday to set up the appointment. Grrr.

So sorry for your suffering. Two dentists back I told that when I was little (eons ago) my childhood dentist taught me the incorrect way to brush my teeth. He actually gave me gas when I was 3 or 4. Their way actually caused all of my gum and sensitivity problems today.

Vincent give them a call and tell them it is an emergency. Most of my gazillion docs leave me a message giving me the date and time and tell me to call if I'm not available.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,

Healing Hugz,

Loey

Karreighn said "rectify". :P

Good catch Patti. Us Jersey girls (I might have had to move from the State but I'll always be a Jersey girl at heart) have good eyes and big hearts (especially yours). Time to try to go back to bed.

Thanks Loey... they put me on the top of the cancellation list, otherwise I wont get in before I leave for Christmas tripping!

My Christmas holiday is the best cause I get a long chunk of time off (I work at a university) so we hop in our truck and drive. Probably cover 2-3k miles, several states and I will finish up by being the guest preacher at a small church near Pittsburgh.

USA Today.

Not the newspaper. A day trip to Niagara Falls NY.

We needed gluten-free Bisquick for a holiday recipe that WardGirl wants to make. It is not available in Canada. We also grabbed Corn Chex and Bob's Red Mill gluten-free rolled oats. Picked up some stuff at Best Buy, too, that they don't have in Canada. We shopped at Wegmans for the first time in probably ten years. When the family had property in the Finger Lakes, Wegmans was the go-to store. The property was sold in 2006, but we had not been there in a long while before then.

So, my stomach is still being annoyed, i'm trying to figure out what set it off... was it:

A. stress (mind you its finals week)

B. a virus (i'm around many people Monday-Thursday)

C. the going bad milk (one day past its date, kinda tasted off but i played it up to my imagination)

D. CC'd at the memorial on thursday (handshakes with many gluten eaters eating gluteny things)

My stomach has been feeling off since thursday (my GERD has been acting up, no fun either).

So what say you?

GottaSki Mentor

I'd go with a possible combo of all four.

Take a nice long hot bath with epsom salt and bubbles -- or just shampoo or handsoap in a pinch.

Try to get a good night's sleep.

Keep food simple during finals and if something smells bad...toss it.

shadowicewolf Proficient

No tub for me, just a shower stall... :) But i've already stood in it once today.

Sleep? i'll try.. :)

Of course. I'm going to keep it simple this week.

Luckily i don't have too much homework to do, just type up a paper (a short one less then 3 pages no less) that i'll hit tommorow. I'll also have to prepare for an inclass essay that is the final. And of course a history final that i have no idea what will be on. Fun fun...

I got beaten so bad playing dominoes that made me realize that I was probably eating something with gluten, the culprit (Simms premium cracked pepper STEAKSTRIP). Now I can look back and see all other symptoms: irregular stools, bad sleep, desire to eat uncontrollably, bad mood, etc. Gluten really does a job on my short-term memory.
    • Rogol72
I can confirm this. I no longer have any issues with Iodine since being strictly gluten and dairy free.
    • Wheatwacked
I should point out that iodine is known to exasperate dermatitis herpetiformis blistering. It can take several months or even years of a strict gluten-free diet for the IgA-TG3 deposits to clear from the skin. After the skin completely heals, iodine may no longer trigger symptoms. "The circulating antibodies disappear and skin symptoms resolve as a result of gluten-free diet but the cutaneous anti-TG3 IgA deposits may persist for several years. I get my supplements f from Pipingrock.com close to 10 years now. Good quality, prices, ship  worldwide.  My 25(OH)D is at 93 ng/ml after 10 years taking. In 2019 it had still only gotten to 47 ng/ml.  Celiac Disease causes low D from malabsorption. High Potency Vitamin D3, 10,000 IU, 250 Quick Release Softgels 4.8 out of 5 stars, average rating value. Read 1662 Reviews. Sale price$10.70 Regular price$21.39 Basil Carcinoma.  Basil cell carcinoma is the result of failure of the immune system to recognize fauty DNA in cells. It is iodine that causes apoptosis, killing old and defective cells.  Not enough vitamin D to control the immune system and not enough iodine to do the job.  I had a sebaceous cyst, my seventh facial cyst, in 2014.  It started looking like a blackhead, but grew (Third eye blind).  All my 7 previous cysts had drained and healed normally.  When I drained this, there was a hairball the size of a BB and it would not heal.  This was one of many reasons I started Gluten Free.  I chose to not have it surgically removed, because I realized I had nutrient deficiencies that were causing slow healing.  By 2015 I realized it was Iodine deficiency and started eating seaweed, which helped my muscle tone, but not the healing.  The warnings on iodine from the gov't were so scary, I was afraid to use them.  Turns out it is all based on one study on rats in 1948. "The Wolff-Chaikoff Effect:   Crying Wolf?"   Last year I started taking 600 mcg a day and it is reversing my glaucoma and fixing muscle tone, hair nails and skin all returning to healthy,  Brain fog, which had improved dramatically on Gluten Free diet, my thinking got even clearer with the iodine. Finally the cyst my bellwether since 2014, began to heal.  So I had it biopsied  in July 2025, came back basal cell carcinoma.  With the Iodine (Piping Rock Liquid Iodine 12 drops a day 😃 = 600 mcg) is healing normally and I have a follow up in December.  By then it will have healed.  It is scabbing over like a normal wound.  In 1970 the US stopped using Iodine as a dough modifier.  The daily intake of Iodine dropped in the US 50% between 1970 and 1984.  Also, prescriptions for thyroxine have doubled.  150 mcg the RDA is not enough for anything more than preventing goiter.  Growing up in the sixties just 2 slices of bread had 200 micrograms of iodine, add a glass of milk and iodized salt and you're at 300 mcg a day.  The safe upper tolerable limit in the US is 1000 mcg.  In Japan it is 3000 mcg and the average Japanese, traditional diet, averages above 1000 mcg.  Remember when in the 80's our schools were loosing competitions to Japanese schools?  Iodine.  And Japan has 50% less breast cancer.  Nicer hair nails and skin.  It the US our kids are getting dumber, more flabby.  Fertility is dependant on enough iodine, also. 600 mcg.
