  1. A few questions for you. How did you learn of the parasites? How did you know what they were? Did you take the herbs on your own? Or were they prescribed? I began to worry about my daughter and I recently after my little cat was found to have roundworms. I wouldn't have thought about us having them but some people online elsewhere were telling me...

    ARCHIVED Sad :(

Sorry to hear that! Gluten isn't my issue but I do have other food intolerances. I hate it when I screw up and accidentally eat something I shouldn't. I managed to save myself last week (or was it the week before?) when I flipped over a package to read the carb count, only to see that there was milk in the food. I had bought a different brand than what...
  3. Could be. My daughter is intolerant to flax but... We don't know what her symptoms were because she is intolerant to a lot of things and she never really ate all that much of it.
  4. Sorry, I am unfamiliar with the test that you had done. Is that for true allergies (IgE) or intolerances? If intolerances it is possible you can eventually add rice back into your diet. It's also possible that your eating rice daily could have brought about the intolerance. It's usually best to vary your diet if you can.
  5. I have no clue but I see no need to eat cranberries or bananas. If you think they are causing a problem then stop eating them. If you do have gallbladder trouble then eating fats will make it worse.
  6. I had a high reaction to oysters which are not something I eat. Yes, I have had oyster sauce but not in recent years. Oysters are not appealing to me, so no big deal. I can't explain your results.
  7. I feel the same. Immediately lost 6 pounds, the bloated stomach, the upset stomach. The sinus issues.
  8. Exactly! I didn't know what was the most important. I complained of pain. I didn't know that the pain was caused by a high dose of a thyroid med that I didn't need. Or the venous insufficiency that was misdiagnosed as psoriasis. Or the neuropathy in my feet and legs that I had been told I didn't have. Because the Dr. didn't do the appropriate test.
  9. This is a very old thread. PF Changs has a gluten-free menu. I can't vouch for them because I have never eaten there. That being said, if we were out somewhere and my daughter got hungry we would look for a teriyaki place and get her some plain white rice. Yes, I suppose there is a chance of cross contamination. And I know it's not a meal. But it was...
  10. Sometimes they just won't listen. I had a list of things wrong with me. I had one Dr. tell me there was just too much wrong with me and I had to pick the one issue that was the most important. Now... How am I supposed to know that? I just knew that I had symptoms. I didn't know which ones were caused by something serious. And frankly it took a good...
  11. It might not be bad. I am intolerant to 21 different things but many are things I would never eat. Like fish. And there are some herbs and spices which are more commonly used in Italian food. Mexican food is my favorite so that's not a problem unless dining out. I don't think I could eat in an Italian place unless I just had plain gluten-free pasta.
  12. Yeah. My reactions aren't always immediate. In fact they usually are not. Which is why I never would have figured them out by myself. I would much rather avoid something that showed on a test than to continue to eat it and possibly have a problem with it.
  13. I was told that too but when you say that you piss off some people who have IgE allergies. I was actually driven off of an allergy forum by some of those people. Now I call it an intolerance. Daiya makes a good dairy free cheese if you can tolerate peas.
  14. I don't know where you read that you can't test for dairy intolerances. You can. I have been tested. I am intolerant.
  15. My daughter likes lettuce or teff wraps. If you can't find the teff wraps, use a corn tortilla.
  16. Our tests showed positive to things we have never eaten or things I haven't eaten in years. They are not things that sound appealing so I will not be eating them.
  17. Do you know if you have IgE allergies or IgG/Intolerances? My daughter and I have the IgG type. We have been told to be retested every 3 years. She was intolerant to gluten for 3 years as well as wheat. Then just wheat. Now neither. So yes, you can outgrow allergies. But it can take laying off of that food for a very long time.
  18. That's true. I wasn't eating mint but it was in my toothpaste.
  19. Gas and the big D for me.
  20. This article makes me angry. Says the testing may not be accurate but doesn't say why. Just like celiac testing may not be accurate. Because if you don't eat gluten prior to the test it may not be! This article has caused people to call me crazy and say I'm am idiot for believing my test results. I just know that I got better after the test. YMMV...
  21. At Olive Garden you can ask them to put the croutons or whatever on the side. They may pull an attitude on you but they'll do it. I am fine with everything on the salad but the croutons but I come from a family of picky eaters. They want everything on the side! And they get it that way. If hummus is on the menu then chances are cucumbers are too. ...
  22. I don't know if I would be considered a success story or not. The sad thing is when you have food intolerances, they can and often do change over time. One Dr. told us to be rested every 3 years. My last test was the hair test. Therre were 21 intolerances on that list but really it is more because it includes all fish and seafood. No matter to me since...
  23. I went to the Dr. for a chronic ear infection that had come and gone for over a year. The Dr. wasn't my regular Dr. She was out sick. He tested my blood sugar, told me I had diabetes and sent me on my unmerry way. I was like... Wha? Didn't prescribe anything for me to take. Didn't tell me to test my blood sugar. Come back for a followup visit. Nothing...
  24. Good luck with that! Celiac is not my problem but food intolerances. So very similar. My mom has been diagnosed with food intolerances but she likes to live in denial. She says she has none even though I saw her chart. I think my dad has them too but he won't get tested. They both seem to think it is normal to be sick to your stomach all the time, have...
  25. Chocolate really messes with my GERD. So I can't have it either. Maybe you could have carob? Some people think it tastes like chocolate. Not me, but some people do.
