ARCHIVED Silly Folks On Psoriasis Forums
Juliebove replied to bartfull's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Perhaps gluten can give some people psoriasis but I don't think that is my case. I do not have celiac. I am not intolerant or allergic to gluten or wheat. But my daughter was for many years. So I did eat a gluten-free diet for well over a year. No affect on my psoriasis whatever. It seems to come and go. And why? I do not know. -
ARCHIVED No Gluten, No Corn, No Soy, No Dairy.
Juliebove replied to AnnJay's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I don't know that you could get a full meal. A hamburger patty should be okay unless it is cross contaminated. Same for fresh fruit. Salads for me are iffy because they often will put croutons or cheese on there and then pick it off. Many has been the time that I was eating a salad and found a contamintant in the middle of it. A plain baked potato should... -
ARCHIVED The "holidays Are Coming"
Juliebove replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Super Sensitive People
I have found that my family (and other people) mostly won't eat what I make if I tell them it is gluten free. Now this could even be a dish that is naturally gluten free. They just assume that it isn't going to taste good and they are afraid of it. I had the peewaddins annoyed out of me last year when I bought some boxed gluten-free gravy. It's very... -
ARCHIVED Last Ditch Rant... I Need Serious Help
Juliebove replied to Littllemel's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Sorry to hear of your problems. My husband keept pushing me to get Tricare Prime and I simply will not. Reason being I am afraid that I will get a PCP who will tell me that I don't need to see a specialist. For that reason we had the Standard but now that he is retired it is the For Life. I have a fatty liver. I have read that most people who are overweight... -
ARCHIVED How To Deal With Hypocrite Mother
Juliebove replied to Persei V.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh how I can relate! I am an adult now but my mom still doesn't get it. And she has food intolerances her own self. As a kid, she pushed me to drink milk and eat ice cream. I hated the things. They made me ill but I didn't realize that they were what were making me ill. At age 16, a Dr. told me to stop drinking milk. I did. I got some better.... -
ARCHIVED Vitamins Not Digesting
Juliebove replied to Newbee's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't know if this could be the case here, but some pills are made in such a way that the casing can come out in the stool. Such is the case with a diabetes med that my daughter is taking. I remember a discussion about it some years back on the diabetes newsgroup but I don't think anyone knew the answer. Then my daughter went on the med. The Dr. whispered... -
ARCHIVED Bloated Stomach Problem
Juliebove replied to Janetlk's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I checked the Mentos in the store today. They still contain glucose syrup but it no longer says "from wheat". Doesn't give the source though. Their website says it is gluten free. But it doesn't say it is wheat free. So I still don't know. I have seen the claim made about wheat derived glucose syrup that it does test as gluten free. But if it is made... -
You just can't make a blanket statement like that. I have seen canned things like vegetables and tomato sauce at Trader Joe's and also at Walmart that have warnings that the foods are made on shared lines. I will not buy those. There are certain brands that some people claim to have had a problem with. Amy's and Hains come to mind. What was the specific...

ARCHIVED Those Who Got Foods Back
Juliebove replied to bartfull's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Gluten isn't an issue for me. I was intolerant to dairy. Then I wasn't. But the Dr. warned me never to eat it based on the symptoms I had. I didn't listen to her. I did avoid it for a very long time but I reasoned that since my daughter could now eat it (she had been intolerant too) and had no problems, then I could eat it. And no problems at first... -
That's interesting! My B levels tend to be low despite taking a lot of supplements. And I do get bitten like mad if I go outside. Now I mainly just don't go outside. Which is okay because I don't like it out there anyway.

No claws! Oh the poor thing. You don't wanna know what they do to them to take the claw out. My cats prefer crunchy treats. Current cats will eat only the tuna flavor. I have read that some cats do not purr but do not know why. My neighbor had one that she just sort of found. Siamese cat. She found out that his name was Sam. When she found...

ARCHIVED Bloated Stomach Problem
Juliebove replied to Janetlk's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have bloating. I also have gastroparesis. Oddly enough when my gastroenterologist had me stop taking the med I was taking for the gastroparesis (prescribed by another Dr.) my bloating went way down. I still do get it once and awhile and I don't always know why. I do have to be careful not to eat too much salad. Lettuce, raw spinach and other leafy... -
ARCHIVED Bloated Stomach Problem
Juliebove replied to Janetlk's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Unless they have changed them (and I haven't looked at the ingredients for awhile), Mentos contain wheat. -
ARCHIVED Sick From Trader Joe's Semisweet Chocolate Chips :-(
Juliebove replied to vln1760's topic in Super Sensitive People
Always read the entire package on anything you buy at TJ's. I can't speak for the chocolate chips specifically because I don't buy chocolate chips. But quite a lot of their foods say that they are processed on shared lines. For this reason, we buy very few things there. -
Needing means that the cat is very happy. I have never had a cat wake me up for food. But then I have always put out a self feeder with plenty of dry food in it. My current two cats each get an Appetizer for breakfast. And they get that whenever I get up. Might be early. Might be late. They never question the time. They split a small can of cat food...

ARCHIVED Am I Reacting To Rice?
Juliebove replied to dinosinclair's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
What kind of allergy test was this? IgG? IgE? And yes, cross contamination could be a problem with the rice if you bought a different brand. But if the test is showing an allergy then you need to avoid rice. -
Sorry to hear that. I have somewhat different food issues than you but I can relate. Can you eat rice? That's what I turn to.

ARCHIVED I Think I've Lost Potatoes...
Juliebove replied to Bubba's Mom's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My mom can't eat potatoes. They cause joint pain for her. I hate it when people think you can eat something when you know that you can't. Who wants to be sick or in pain? I don't. -
ARCHIVED Whats The Deal With Cheese?
Juliebove replied to MitziG's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Well, that I don't know. Cheese is the only form of dairy that I really liked. I did use butter for some things. Can't say that either one bothered me more. -
ARCHIVED Other Intolerances
Juliebove replied to jcstepmom28's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My daughter and I have food intolerances. We avoid all forms of whatever the intolerance is. So if it were potatoes I would avoid potato starch. We make most of our food from scratch. -
I didn't understand it either. My daughter had gastritis caused by a medication. I do know that when you have it you must avoid hot foods, both spicy and temperature heat. Best to eat bland/mild foods that are cool or slightly warm.

ARCHIVED Heartburn From Digestive Enzymes?
Juliebove replied to Chad Sines's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh yes! I can take some but not any with bromelain in them. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Everywhere At School
Juliebove replied to Minette's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My biggest complaint was not the food that they ate but the food that they learned with. Twizzlers for math. Pasta for science. Stuff like that. She was told if she didn't touch them she would fail. -
ARCHIVED Favorite Addictive Tv Shows
Juliebove replied to ~**caselynn**~'s topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Yeah. I think... We may live in a dump. But it's not that bad! I've never seen Project Runway. My mom watches that.
