  1. rwg, All my life I was never a dog person. And now I find myself the leader of a mini schnauser rodeo. How in the hell do they wolf down food without seeming to chew it, and yet you give them a pill wrapped in cheese and they manage to eat the cheese and leave the pill? They're strange creatures, yet I love them madly. best regards, lm ...
  2. This isn't about Log Cabin, but I do have a few kinds of syrup (besides real maple syrup) here. One, Great Value (walmart) natural & artificial Butter flavored pancake & waffle syrup. Personally, I don't like it, and don't eat it. I only have it because my son doesn't like mine, he likes butter flavored, and said he didn't like Mrs. Buttersworth...
  3. What gluten ingredient was in it before? best regards, lm
  4. My 6 varieties of cherry tomatos did well. Of course they were pretty well burnt up by the second week in July so I yanked 'em up and planted a fall crop of 8 varieties. My first fall attempt with tomatos, but others here have had success so I'm hoping. I'm also trying something new. Planting 2 plants in the same hole (of the same variety). There was an article...
  5. Happy birthday from Texas. Hope you have a good one. best regards, lm
  6. MGB, Thanks for the heads up about the Angus Burger patties. I was planning on having one soon, but thanks to you that's out. Not once, but twice wheat is listed as an ingredient. As some may know, I've been a big defender of my little local Walmart Mcdonalds (and their fries). Needless to say, I'm extremely dissapointed now. best regards, lm
  7. A little off topic. Went to a b-day party today. We had Hot Fudge Sundays. I checked the can of "nut topping" (don't remember the brand), and it had wheat starch in it. Why the formulation had to include that in a simple peanut product is beyond me. But it just reinforces the need to check product labels all the time. btw, everyone but me had fried...
  8. Here's what works for me. Our house is not a gluten-free one. But, I do all the grocery shopping and cooking, so I have much more control than some. I make my wife gluten bread items, and we have gluten cerial, crackers, etc. I keep a few pots & pans seperate for gluten use. We have different toasters. I do not allow any loose gluten flour in the...
  9. I have some of the Whole Foods frozen bisquits. They are a little chalky, testure wise, but otherwise OK. best regards, lm
  10. I have Sun Crystals, but there's no stevia in it. I bought it quite a while back, so maybe they changed, or have more than one kind. Mine has a sugar alcohol, and cane sugar. I think it's 4 calories a serving (I'm not home so can't look at the label). It's very tasty. It passes the finger licking test for me. But very expensive and not available at many regular...
  11. I can relate to being sickened, it's terrible. My sympathies. But what about this nightshade sensitivity? How much of your reaction was due to it? Yes, of course it's always possible to experience cross contamination at any food establishment. That's why, IMO, it's important to know your restaurant. My Mcdonalds is in a Walmart, and so is very small...
  12. Here's a Wendy's thread from a few months ago. Please don't underestimate the power of the search feature at the top left of every webpage on this site, the google custom search. It searches this forum. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...mp;#entry517740 best regards, lm p.s., I really just want you to read my funny story!
  13. Well I thought I'd heard everything. Dog food sandwiches and tacos are a new one though. I would recommend Rachel Ray's dog food. I don't know if she makes a cat food. There's no wheat, barley, or rye. And the other ingredients seem OK also. It's not expensive (IMO) and is at Walmart. What more could one want? best regards, lm
  14. I call it chili soup and was never a fan. I haven't had it in years, but I think it had red beans. We prefer pinto. Now that my choices are limited however, I might give it another try. I find my tastes have changed some since going gluten-free. best regards, lm
  15. Here's a post from yesterday. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...c=60123&hl=
  16. I use Rachael Ray's chicken or Beef Stock. Our Walmart carries it, and I think it's actually less expensive than Walmart's Broth. If you'll look at the ingredients, the stock is better (IMO) than the broth, in that the stock has chicken or beef stock (vs, just flavor), vegatable stock (carrot, celery, onion) the broth has none, and herbs (bay leaf, thyme...
  17. I rotate between the rice, corn, and honey nut every morning now for months. Have also had the strawberry, chocolate, and cinnamon. Haven't had any problems with any of 'em. best regards, lm
  18. FMc, I thank you on pheobe Buffay's behalf. She is adorable. We have a new one, Penny Lane. Looks like a smaller version of Phoebe. She was a stray that we took in. Long amusing story involving five puppies. OG, my admiration to you for making me look up "pithy". Was pretty sure what it meant, but had to check. I love rarely used words. Funny thing...
  19. TK, Incomplete picture. Have you been diagnosed with Celiac disease? Did the allergist say he skin pricked you with wheat? best regards, lm
  20. It's not even a consideration for me. I just look for wheat, barley, and rye. That's it. Everything else I eat if it's something I like. I use real, honest to GOD sugar, splenda, and agave nectar. I don't pay any attention if something has HFCS. Can't get enough cheese, milk, sour cream, corn and corn products (Tostidos, Corn Chex, Fritos etc.). All...
  21. Have a happy 4th everyone. GOD bless America! best regards, lm
  22. Happy birthday from Texas. Hope ya have a good one! best regards, lm
  23. I use the little McDonald's ketchup packages. They go good with their fries! best regards, lm
  24. Lesson learned. Never ask your sister-in-law to do anything. best regards, lm
  25. I make a mental note (for later just in case) and then don't worry about it. 2
