  1. I personally do not care for any of the FFL breads. I think they are much too heavy and dense. Their brown rice tortillas, however, are fabulous.
  2. I think GBB sounds really nice. I can't wait to get my order! Mojave sounds like a lot of fun in moderation, too. My DH is doing the same thing. He keeps asking "are you sure there's nobody else?" I think he's (mostly) kidding. I keep saying it's all for him, but what I really mean is that it's all for ME!!! I love...
  3. CC= cross contamination. When an otherwise gluten free food becomes contaminated with gluten. Hope this helps.
  4. We use Open Original Shared Link. Open Original Shared Link
  5. My kids have always been much more willing to try new things that they had a hand in preparing. We have a garden every year, and always try to plant a few new things. They are more willing to try them if they planted the seed, watered it, harvested it, etc. There are some great kids cookbooks out there, some even geared to younger kids like yours...
  6. You've made it through the hardest part. Now that she has had the biopsy, there is no reason to continue gluten. I hope you see positive changes on the gluten-free diet.
  7. WW340! You look so great in your picture. I am still not brave enough to post a picture of myself, no matter how good may makeup looks. I found a new combination that looks great today. Good china all over, snowflakes on the lid and mystic night as a liner. Very hot, if I do say so myself. The DHL site says my order is projected to be delivered...
  8. Spelt is an ancient form of wheat. It can sometimes be tolerated by people with a wheat allergy, but it is not safe for those on a gluten free diet because the molecular structure is too similar. It is often marketed as "wheat free", but it is not gluten free. Open Original Shared Link
  9. This is exactly why I would let my son go to a chuck e cheese party. I always tell him he has a choice with this disease - to avoid situations because there will be gluten there or to go do the things he wants to do and make modifications where necessary. I think kids as young as preschool do know when they are being left out of the party. But if...
  10. Woo Hoo! Another member has been added to the collective. Resistance is futile. 1. Like Donna said, EM doesn't have a mascara yet, but they are working on one. I use one from Avon because my Mom's avon lady knows she is an easy target so I always get loaded up on Avon crap. 2. I take off my eye makeup with baby oil because I...
  11. We have introduced some soy cheese, but that's about it. We have been using rice or almond milk for drinking and cooking. I will definitely ask his neurologist about soy when we go back in for our appointment next week. When you removed soy did you re-introduce dairy? I don't think I can deal with gluten, dairy AND soy. Losing dairy has been a tough...
  12. Open Original Shared Link Celiac is considered a disability under the Rehabilitation act of 1973. If you decide you want to go for a 504, the process will vary by school district. Some will have you contact the school directly, while some will require you to begin the process with the district Special Ed office. You should be able to ask in your...
  13. Here is some informaton that may be of use to you. Open Original Shared Link
  14. Sounds yummy. I bet it would be really good with almond butter, too. Be careful about your brown rice syrup, though. Much of it is made with barley. Open Original Shared Linkis safe, but there may be other safe brands too.
  15. Open Original Shared Link!!!!! First makeup I have ever found that looks good on me and I enjoy using. It's all natural and gluten free. Please join us, won't you, on the Open Original Shared Link!
  16. Good luck on your painting. I think we all have different ways of working our way through things. Just one bit of advice, though. If you do decide to use the real thing, make sure it is well out of reach of kids. My Uncle was a Narcotics detective when I was a kid. He had a large board on which he had mounted real meds next to pieces of candy to...
  17. I've had those cookies, as well as the ones from Trader Joe's. This recipe is delicious and tastes just like them: Open Original Shared Link Happy baking!
  18. Both the chocolate and vanilla flavors are delicious. I have to hide them from my kids because they eat them all and there are none left for me!
  19. That would not surprise me in the slightest.
  20. I think we all need cute little pink handbags to carry our brishes around in. Kind of like the starlets in Hollywood with their little lunatic dogs. I'm pretty excited about the new colors. I have gone back and tried a few things I originally thought weren't for me and I like them. I originally thought Text Message was way too dark for...
  21. I replied to Open Original Shared Link, but you might not have seen it. I will repost what I said there over here. Here are all the manufactureres of gluten-free oats: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link The only one that offers oat flour...
  22. Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard of them before. Their prices seem pretty good. I posted their website below in case anyone needs it. Open Original Shared Link
  23. I do not like Cadbury Creme eggs, but it appears that Glucose syrup, even if derived from wheat, is a gluten free ingredient. I think it will be another decision we all have to make like the one on McDonald's fries, but below is information on this ingredient. I suspect that there has been no change to the ingredients for the creme eggs, only that the...
  24. There are lots of acronym dictionaries out there - here's one: Open Original Shared Link. I don't have a problem with peopele using acronyms, as long as I can figure out what they mean in context. I understand how they upset people sometimes, though. HTH (that means hope this helps )
  25. Really? 3 months? That seems like such a long time. Oh, well, if it does turn out to be 3 months at least we will be more than half way there. Believe me, Ice cream is definitely on the agenda after our next appointment. I have been careful to tell my son, though, that we have to get the doctor's OK first. Not trying to promise that...
