  1. While I would love to believe that someone is cured, I have a hard time buying it. I would only be convinced in the presence of a documented case of celiac based on bloodwork and biopsy, and then a negative bloodwork and biopsy result after consuming gluten for a long period of time. I mean a biopsy with lots of samples, too. Without that, I don't think...
  2. I figure you guys will excommunicate me from the cult if I don't post at least once today. I still don't have the order I placed on Saturday, and the USPS site still doesn't have any updated information. I sent an email to EM asking for an update. I am still working on my samples. I think I am warming up to how multitasking neutral looks on me...
  3. Open Original Shared Link to a great startup guide. It really helps you think about things that might not have occurred to you before. Don't worry, you 'll get the kinks worked out in time.
  4. A friend just forwarded his to me today. I haven't been there yet so don't know prices or quality, but I plan to check it out soon. www DOT haleys (take out this space)corner DOT com You will have to change the dots to actual dots and take out the part in the middle if you are interested in it because the board keeps turning it into "lame advertisement...
  5. I think there are 3 kinds of glutenings when living in a mixed house: 1. Not realizing that a little can hurt you. You can combat this by providing information from this site or others that explains that even a crumb of gluten can stop or even reverse the healing process. Dr. Peter Green's Book is a great one for explaining that a little can hurt you...
  6. Donna - absolutely DO NOT look at Open Original Shared Link. If you do, you will see the cute mixing bowls on the page right under the mixing jars. And then you will want them. That would be baaaaad.
  7. There are several flour tortilla replacement available. Nost of them need to be warmed up in order to be pliable, but work well for wraps and burritos. There may be others, but these are the ones I know about. Open Original Shared Link Brown rice tortillas - these are my favorite and the least expensive. 8. Gaaaah! USPS still does not have any updates info on my last order. What's a poor addict to do? Today is my first day back at work after 11 days off for the holidays. I have only been here for 2 hours. 3 people have already told ne how nice I look today. Putting on the EM only takes 5 minutes in the morning, and you get lots of compliments. What...
  9. I modified these from a Open Original Shared Link recipe. My son cannot tolerate the gluten-free oats, so I do not use them for anything he will eat. Feel free to use the gluten-free oats if you want. I omitted the pecans because we didn't have any, but I'm sure they would be great in this recipe. I think they would taste great with chocolate chips too...
  10. Baby oil works great, and it smells good too.
  11. Hi, Ses1913. Open Original Shared Linkput out by the GIG. It includes 50+ things that are easy to find/fix on the gluten-free diet. Maybe you will find it useful. What sorts of meals do you like to eat? Most things can be converted to gluten-free pretty easily. If you point us in the direction you like to dine in, we might be able to be more helpful...
  12. I think the anticipation of the endoscopy is worse than the actual procedure. For me it really was not a big deal. They gave me versed and fentanyl. This combo has an amnesia effect - you may find you do not remember much of the procedure afterward, even though you are partially awake. It also supresses the gag reflex. The prep is also easy - just no food...
  13. That's a great link. Thanks for posting that information. I just forwarded it on to someone I know who is having trouble getting insurance in UT.
  14. Oh goodie! Now we are a cult! I've always wanted to belong to one. I think we need leaflets. The order I places on Saturday STILL hasn't been received by the post office! The USPS site still says "electronic information received." Humph. I just looked at the EM website, and they have the Open Original Shared Link! How could I have missed...
  15. Here's to a gorgeous new year, everybody! We aren't planning to go anywhere, but I am sure going to look good here in the house. These sample sizes really last a long time. I am going to try mixing in the EM with my moisturizer today and see how it works. I feel the same way as you, Donna. It's been so long since I did something to fix myself...
  16. Thanks, Joni, for this review. I think I will try some of this on my next order. The skin over my cheekbones has been very dry lately. I was reading the Open Original Shared Link yesterday, and they said that they will soon be introducing a primer in mid January. I am pretty excited about this. I used some of that in my BE consultation last week, and...
  17. I got my Marlene's newsletter for January and the next support group meeting will be Monday January 21 at 7:00 pm at Open Original Shared Link. Anybody in South King or North Pierce county - mark your calendar and hope to see you there!
  18. Thanks for the tip on this one! That site looks great. You get 50 free downloads in the first month, too. So it seems like you could join up, get the free downloads and cancel it if you wanted to. Definitely going to try this one. We got my 11-yer-old an MP3 player for Christmas. She is getting tired of all the Christmas music, but that's pretty...
  19. You guys are such enablers! I couldn't resist the draw of new brushes (Umm...the ones I have now are from the 80's), so I ordered my kit today. I'm not too sure about the free eye shadows that are coming with the special (Ginger Bread Man and Tinsel Time) - they look a little over the top for me, but I'll give them a a try. I went with the original glo...
  20. Treat yourself to great humor from bygone days. Here are my favorite movies of all time, in no particular order. Monty Python and the Holy Grail Young Frankenstein Blazing Saddles Clue Arsenic and Old Lace Anything Abbot and Costello My Fair Lady
  21. Yummy! I love Necco wafers. Except for the black ones. Those I throw away or try to pawn off on the kids.
  22. There is a salon in town here that offers a free Bare Escentuals consultation. I had one yesterday so I could see what kind of tips I could gain on applying the everyday minerals. OMG - I had no idea the Bare Escentuals stuff was so freaking expensive! One of the BE brushes costs the same as one of the full kits from Everyday Minerals! No way I could...
  23. I think it would be impossible to clean a bread machine well enough to avoid cross contamination. If you think about it, you add all the ingredients to the pan and press go. The paddle starts to turn and mix things. When that happens, some of the flour puffs up inside the bread machine and settles on all the inside surfaces. There is a good possibility...
  24. My best girlfriend from High School roped me into joining her Open Original Shared Link group. Part of the deal is that you have to host the event once a year. January it's my turn. None of these women know about my Celiac Disease, mostly because I haven't wanted to take the time to explain it. When I go to their houses, I just try to show up after the...
  25. I got my second set of samples yesterday. The blush I chose (chit chat) is perfect for me. It's a nice rose color with just a little bit of sparkle. The foundation colors I chose are much better for me, but I still haven't gotten the application technique down yet. I ended up getting one of those spongy makeup applicator wedge thingies wet and mixing...
